Okay, this is a total Compliment, because this little border collie is absolutely Adorable. I couldn't help but notice though that little Roxy and the groomer favor each other! ❤️ You know, like owners and their pets starting to look alike... except this groomer isn't even the owner! lol As they say in Seinfeld, "I'm just saying" 😉 Excellent video! I'm using it as a template to give my red-headed terrier his Late Summer Lion Cut! 🦁
Hi Dede, this was a sweet little dog. Always a great teacher for those self groomers out there. I am not a big fan of the lion cut... My dad did this to our big collie one hot summer on the farm, and he hid from us for several days and looked embarrassed. Lol. however you did a great job of graduating the mane. Thanks Dede I love watching your videos. 🇨🇦. I hear you are doing a cat next? Dogs you can reason with, cats take no prisoners! 😂
idk I think it's kinda cute! It looks just like a lion, exactly what the parents asked for. You guys need to remember that these dogs arent yours and Dede makes these videos to educate other groomers or just people passing by on little/weird things that dog ownders ask for!

Such a great haircut for Texas summers we just started doing a lion cut on our long hair cat and its been so nice, I don't have pounds of cat hair all over the place. I have short hair dogs but if I had long hair I'd have a den of lions.

No don't cut the tail it looks wierd when the tail is cut, so much cuter with the fluffy tail.
She asks in the video what we think, she said should I shave the tail or no. She decided to keep the tail.

Not finished watching the video, but I think do the front legs like the back and then do the lions mane. Took me a while to see the different angles, but I think that would look great! Let's see what you do.
Our groomer ties a ribbon around the hip, so the dog keeps standing up :)
why would you shave a double coated dog,they need the fur to keep them cool in summer & warm in winter,doing this just makes it worse for dog as they have no way of cooling themselves down,if i was a groomer & someone asked me to shave a double coated dog i'd send them straight out the door,yea it may be cute but it's wrong
I agree, also some dogs' underfur never grows back...
This happened to my dog he was an blue ribbon award dog and they shaved him and his hair never grew back the same
Samantha Duvall This dog is a mixed breed so there is no sure say it will have the double coat. Though most of the time its not usually good ive seen plenty that its grown back just fine. Especially in summer and if pet parents are not grooming their dogs properly at all, the double coat in the summer will actually be a huge hinderence when it comes to cooling them down. The more matted an tangled they get the worse it is for it to cool them. She does what the pet parents what she does explain to them but if they want it she does it its a bussiness. She makes them aware of it though
Our dog has a huge coat, also double, and yes it gets very hot for him in summer but we do things to cool him down, play with water, give him ice cubes to play with, make sure he always has a cool spot and only walk when its cooled down outside. His fur was increddibly matted when we adopted him, took us weeks to brush it all out (as well as 2 sessions at the trimmer). Some fur was cut off (around his face, paws and tail) but they always said we shouldnt shave him.
@@ellataber8805 they will only shave him if you asked for him to be shaved...so wasnt their fault was it?

OMG! YOU'RE A CELEBRITY! I thought toy looked familiar and saw you grooming 2 horrible matted dogs on Animal Cops-Philly. Literally one dog was shaved full body like a matted pelt! Luv you for helping these poor dogs.

My obedience group use "hold"
I tend to use "wait" as my dogs are taught to sit when on lead if not walking and "wait" is great for putting on harnesses and coats
I saw a miniature pony with a lion cut. I thought it was weird.
Sometimes, I will use a noose to prevent the dog from sitting.

even though I'm not a huge fan of the lion cut, I dont think there nothing wrong with it but she should've took the front legs down as well...just my opinion. when I think of a lions mane there's no thick hair the front legs, it's only around the neck and chest....trust me I've watch tons of discovery channel to know lol but still love you dede

Please dont shave your dogs. It isnt any cooler on them in the heat and their skin is more sensitive to the sun

As a double-coated dog you're not supposed to cut it you're not supposed to shave it you're ruining the dog
I liked the video until you started losing your patience with the dog for sitting. It’s alway my fear when I take my dog for a groom of what the temperament of the groomer is!
