My doodle is a service dog. So he gets a Teddybear cut during the winter and late fall then he gets a kennel cut or poodle cut in the spring through mid fall
I love your scissor set, works a treat on our cavoodle puppy! Our Connie's favorite hairstyle is the Carnivorous Marshmallow which consists of highly combed nicely shaped 5+ inch of pure fluff. She just loves to show off and make friends, such a little socialite.🤣
@@WeLoveDoodles Thank YOU for making a fine set that remains affordable, some scissors I saw for our Connie was over $200 a piece for *one* scissor for us in Australia, big yikes. Makes it especially hard for folks when groomers that will even look at doodles in our area are as rare as hen's teeth thus home grooming is a must. So you've done us a HUGE favour and saved little Connie at least two full shave downs, one of which would've been in winter with a puppy coat.🥶🧊
We have a red standard poodle and a red goldendoodle. I was surprised at how much more the doodle tends toward matting. Her curls, as my groomer SIL says, have golden hair under the curls.
I have F1b goldendoodles and I do the kennel cut myself. Just short all over. I think my dogs are most comfortable to get all that heavy hair off them, especially living in AZ
I just bought a golden doodle he is light cream and light hole den but has the looking fur how do groom him and should I also take him to get groom and he is only 8weeks but a really big 8weeks as his parents are both big
The 2nd grooming from a 'professional' groomer my Goldendoodle had a few weeks ago destroyed him and my ever wanting to bring him to another groomer, ever. He came back with a bleeding cut on both ears at the tip and the point of his tail is cut, too, and bleeding. I'm going to have to barber him myself which I don't look forward to. He might be afraid for life from the real bad experience at the butcher, oh, I mean groomer. I'm imagining that after he was cut on the first ear they had to hold him down to finish all the cutting of his super matted fur. It's not funny but the day after he came home from the butchers he was laying next to me on the couch as we watched TV. I glanced over to him and he turned to look at me and growled. I never had a dog who needed a haircut but nonetheless, in 2-3 months he's going to need another haircut. I'm going to have to get him used to the electric clipper sound and touch that I haven't even purchased yet. Wish us luck.
That's horrible to hear! Although time consuming it's fairly easy to keep a doodle's coat with full line combing and frequent short trims as they start to look a little scruffy. Just remember your first few tries will look terrible but as long as your doodle is matt free and not cut up then it's a good groom.
I see doodles and poodles here at the daycare and the poodle cuts are far more cuter imo. Many of the doodles end up with bobble heads and gangly looking legs. Don’t care for the teddy bear cut either…
We had two Doodles and I clipped them approximately 4 times a year. Trim them close and always start with the face first because they will get tired and so will you. It takes about 20 minutes to get the job done. By doing it yourself you will save a lot of money. Make sure you have a good quality clipper. I found using a #15 blade works the best. After you do it a few times it becomes easer over time. Just start off slow until you get the feel of it.
Yes! We used to groom our Goldendoodle too during Covid. The first time we did it, grooming took several hours. Nowadays we can do it in 1.5 hours or so! Agree with the #15 blade!
Puppy cut / teddy bear cut is the best!

One thing I don’t like about golden doodles is that mustache look when the hair gets too long
It’s the furnishing gene. Some people like it and some don’t. I definitely agree with you that when it’s overgrown it looks bad.
Jersey always gets the teddy bear cut!
My favorite one is the mohawk one
This is the most creative one. :)

Yes! It also prevents tangled and deep Matt’s from forming!

Agree! This is the most common type of haircut! Might try the lion cut for Halloween though :)

I especially loved the cat. The cat. That’s the one I loved.
They groom themselves and they don’t clog up the vents. 😂
Just kidding -
We love cats too! :)
I do like the teddy bear and puppy cut. How old does the pup have to be to get these cuts ?
Hey Marilyn. We recommend that you don't cut your dog's hair until they are at least fully vaccinated. This tends to be 4+ months old.

Poodles cuts are great.
It looks better before haircut
I agree but they are much harder to maintain with longer hair
@@WeLoveDoodles Yeah, it’s very hard to maintain without growing.

4:20 Straddling a lamb cut Idk if I'd call this a kennel cut. This coming from 15 years of experience specifically in curly coats. Just saying
and 4:32
Thank you. Yes, lamb and kennel are somewhat similar.
