I have the Sony A7CII, I have had it for a month now and I love it so far. I am an automotive photographer and I have shot some amazing things on this camera so far. I am using the Sigma 24-70 F2.8. I am excited to get more lenses and shoot more with the A7cii

would you recommend the A7Cii for video and photo capabilities? i currently have a canon for photo and then the ZV-1 for video (but alas, no interchangeable lenses) i’m wanting to upgrade and possibly sell my canon for something that has much better video capabilities - but i would like to keep photography capabilities too where possible the zv-e1 looks like a great option, but i worry about losing photo quality & viewfinder etc! summary: AC7ii, ZV-E1..or A7vi??
Should I buy this camera over the a6700 I don’t see many people talking about this camera, maybe the price difference? Also what lens should I get for it, thanks!
I dont miss the joystick, i configure de real time tracking to the shutter button, focus and recompose. And configure the "recall custom hold" option with wide and continuos focus to "af on" because eye focus on af on dont focus if there arent a eye. Also configure the focus point separately on vertical and horizontal.
Honestly it’s hard to justify at until the second hand market prices drop a little. You can buy an A7IV for less than an A7C II on the used market right now, and I held both in my hand and the A7C II isn’t much smaller, it’s really just a little less tall because of the lack of the big EVF. I believe it’s an overall better value for money if looking second hand (got mine for 1,900 in perfect shape) It’s a great camera though for sure! Not taking away from that.
A7IV has the better EVF and buttons. Also it is less overheat and well build. Also it has charging adapter out-the-box and another cables. And mechanical shutter. And full-size HDMI. And 2 card slots. While A7c ii has not.
@@PlayGameTodayI don’t need those things but on the A7Cii I have better faster autofocus, an AI chip, more compact and faster processor. Great hybrid camera!
We know , no joystick , no 2 card slots , not the largest grip, Small EVF ,yet you like the small size of the camera .Don’t understand why they all make the same obvious observations that we’ve heard so many times before.
If you’ve watched enough reviews to be bothered by hearing these cons, why do you continue to watch more of them? Of course reviewers will often have common thoughts on the same piece of kit.
The viewfinder switches over from the rear screen almost instantly when I put my eye to it, at least under 1 second, on my a7cr. You must have something misconfigured?
But hang on, regarding the missing joystick, on my A7iii I can configure the screen to act as Touch Screen+Pad, and even configure which part of the screen should act as a pad. When I hold my eye on the viewfinder, the screen acts like a touch pad and can be used to move the focus point around. No clue about A7CII, but I'd be surprised if they disabled this feature if it was present in a7iii?
I have a Sony 20mm 1.8 as well as a Tamron 17-50mm f4 oh and Sony 24-105mm f4. All are great on this camera especially after I added the SmallRig cage to ‘get a better grip’ 📸
A7C II has 7.7 stops which stabilises better in comparison to A7 IV or ZV-E1. A bit tempted but I'll wait. I just got the last two for less than a year and they work wonderfully at the moment.
DAS is great, but you'll lose 30% which in effect is 2.8K upscale to 4K. I never utilise this mode yet. Haven't find the need. I could be wrong but i read that a7C II can do reframing which is similar to DAS.
I am pleased with A7 IV. It works great with the Sony FE 90mm Macro. I previously used the macro lens with A7R III and with other macro lenses, the focussing is the problem. I noticed now it works faster! As for ZV-E1, we need one camera solely for the videography work and that ISO 12,800.
I am searching for better hybrid from Sony and I think Cii is the best choice compare to the old 7IV 😊. Combo with any GM lens will be a beast of photo and video. 4K 60 with crop well buy the 11mm that solve the problem. Let me remind everyone that one of the expensive camera only have 1 card slot no one crying about it.
The most compact interchangeable lens camera or the most compact full frame? I'd argue there are more compact options even in Sony's lineup. The ZVE-10, APSC camera is a current camera they sell that is even more compact. Sony even has really tiny 18mm and 16mm APSC pancake lenses, (some of the very 1st Sony lenses) you could pair, though they aren't regarded as the best lenses. In terms of full frame, the Sigma FPL is regarded as the smallest full frame body, and a smaller size L-mount lens, (45mm, f2.8, dgdn, contemporary or 24mm, f3.5, dgdn, C - I love this lens), would get you a really small set up.
The ZV-E1 is also a very compact full frame interchangeable lens camera, (not as small as the Sigma FPL), but still small. The small size can come with trades though, like neither the Sigma or ZV-E1 come with view finders, (though you can put one together and add it to the Sigma like a Lego piece!) and the Sigma has absolutely no grip! The handling is not really great, (nothing to hold onto.), especially if a lens of any size is added.
had this camera and sold it for a better studio video camera with the s5ii and a better daily photo camera with the ricoh gr3 and i’ve never been happier. I always felt like this camera was the literal definition of jack of all trades master of none. It’s super small body but no lenses are small enough to truly make it pocketable enough, the stab is so bad so using it as edc without a tripod is annoying because every piece of footage has to be dragged through catalyst browse. It’s a cool camera but I’m so glad to be away from it.
Fair play! I would 100% agree that it isn't pocketable, that's for sure 😅 The Ricoh Gr3 has been on my radar for a while now, I'd love to get my hands on that camera! I've had no issues with the stabilisation and while shoting handheld I haven't experienced any amount of shake that I wouldn't expect. Would love to hear your thoughts on the S5ii and why you didn't go for the S5iix?
Have it and think it's great. My only wish the shutter was quieter. I use it for street shooting and wish it drew less attention to itself on that point. Yes, I know I can use Silent Shutter but tend to keep the camera in its standard mode.
@@stopcam.iso_1 Not sure I understand your question. It's not an inexpensive camera and there's a lot of solid cameras in/around this price point. For me, it's a solid buy as I have many Sony lenses and I wanted a smaller FF body.
