    Regarding 5:17
    What works for me is to turn the clasp around, so that the release catch is facing outward and not rubbing on the seams, with the smooth side of the clasp facing inward. This will minimise any damage to the seams from the clasp.

    Great-looking bag. I only don't like the way it seems to slouch forwards rather than sit upright

      That's great! Glad you love it! I believe the bag wasn't released until 2018, because I bought mine pretty soon after they came out. Glad to know the video helped and didn't lead you astray.

    Good patina on a Saddleback is like wear-and-tear on a good watch.
    If you're not using it, you're not owning it.

      Yes I will! Probably around April again when it's been another year. At this point there isn't just a ton of change month to month, or even after 6 months. But I feel like yearly seems cool to be able to see a progression.

    Is there a way to use the strap and carry the flight bag as a back pack? I have one and can't figure it out

    • @jamrbn
      @jamrbn  ปีที่แล้ว

      I bet there's not a great way to do it. The only way I can think of would be to attach one clip of the strap to a bottom d ring on the back, run the strap through both handles at the top, and then attach to the other d ring at the bottom. There's only one shoulder pad though, so it wouldn't be super comfortable. And by running the strap through both handles, you probably wouldn't be able to easily open the bag while it's in backpack mode.

    Where did you buy it from?

    • @jamrbn
      @jamrbn  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've been part of a few of the Saddleback Facebook groups for years. The main one is that Saddleback Leather Fan Group, but there's several where you can buy sell trade. I got this from someone who had bought two different colors right when the bag came out, and they only wanted to keep one, so they sold the other essentially unused.

    Do you condition it with anything? Is so, what and how often?

    • @jamrbn
      @jamrbn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I rarely do! This bag has seen no conditioner yet. I try to wait until there is obvious dryness on the bag. When I do condition this bag I will either use Chamberlains or Bick 4.

    • @briancole3456
      @briancole3456 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      May I ask why you condition so infrequently?

    • @jamrbn
      @jamrbn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@briancole3456 I try to wait until there is obvious dryness on the bag. Rather than following a rule like "every six months" or something. I wait because I generally don't like messing with the way the bag naturally patinas. But I do want to keep the leather healthy. I let the bag tell me when it needs conditioning, and what parts need it. Conditioning reverses some patina and scratches and lots of the things that look beautiful to me on these bags when they're really broken in. Some people like to condition their bags because it sort of hits the "refresh" button and makes it look clean and newish. Nothing wrong with that, it's just the exact opposite of what I want haha.

    $480 / 48 months equals 10 bucks/ mo.

    • @jamrbn
      @jamrbn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha thanks for doing that. The bag is pricier now but spreading the cost out like this is still really convincing imo.
