Two knock off Saddleback Leather briefcases. Analysis.

- We have customers send us crap knock off bags like leather briefcases or backpacks when they fall apart and ask us to repair them. We send them back or we let them know theirs is an illegal knock off and we will give them a discount if they want to buy a real one. This is what they got. I will point out the differences. But think of all the money they saved. Ours has a 100 year warranty.
Nothing can take a beating like the real SBL!!! I have many pieces and they are all aging beautifully!!! Save up and get the real thing as NO knockoff will ever be like the real Saddleback!!!
Thank you. The thing about knock offs is they absolutely do not want to waste money and they're unethical. Because of that, they hate to use all of the expensive quality pieces and do the expensive details we do.
Great demonstration! I laughed when you said I use to like when people would knock off my bag… imitation is the highest form of flattery (whatever)… But not so much anymore….

I feel bad for people that were duped into spending hundreds on crummy knockoffs.
I believe this is a great lesson for them that will save them way more money in the future. Buy nice or buy twice.
I have spent 1000's on the SBL products. There is no substitute for the genuine goods and you can feel it the first time you touch it.

I wish I could still smell leather. Well, I did have my 2006 Toyota Tundra reupholstered in our leather and 100% of the seats. No vinyl. And since it gets hot in there, I can smell leather again
@@saddlebackleather I would drape myself in leather because of the smell if it was fashionably acceptable.. ha ha

What @me said... you may soon have a collection. And if you ever want to sell it, they do not really lose value as used (because they continue to look better and better as they age). As Dave says, your bag will look its worst the day it arrives because the marks you leave on it and the oils from your skin help to patina the leather.
I can assure you that there is no substitute for, or better ratio of quality vs. price, for a Saddleback Leather product.
The reason is we don't wholesale to anyone. If we did, they would double the price we sell it to them for.
Seeing all the hustle they went through just to replicate the quality of the material I'd say they worked hard to f**k it up:)
Please do way higher video resolution for these videos Dave. I'd love to really see the detail and poor quality of these knockoff SBL bags. I would use any of my SBL bags in a life or death situation where I had to support my weight off of it (rapelling out of a window/helicopter... I dunno). Your bags are solid. I do wish you offered buffalo, though... :)
Anyone else wondering if they repaired the bag he cut into...? I mean if it was someone elses, not like he can return it with new damage.
Good question. We did not return that one. We told him he had to pay for us to ship it back just the cost of shipping since he shipped it to us. He said he didn't want it and we could have it. The other one we're sending back.
A sad fact of life, you put in everything you have and stand proudly behind your product just for some asshat to come behind you and try to ride your coattails with a POS knockoff, even sadder that people can't recognize a clearly inferior product.

The new saddleback stuff is just as bad. I have old Saddleback bags and new more recent ones and definitely can tell they are cheaply made. I don’t buy new anymore, I go on eBay to buy the old saddleback bags.

o owned the one on the right and its a tank and 8 years of hospital use aged great and held up crazy even know its a knock off its a polare bag from amazon for 169
