This was just a microcosm of the Scott Regime that Teoscar was pointing out while playing in Seattle. Swing for the fences approach. The all for one and all for me approach at the plate. Scott made it a point to the team when Teoscar played that you were only cool if you dropped bombs and raised up that Trident. Teoscar Hernandez sits in on the first team meeting and Scott holds up power point with the title reading Chicks Dig the Long Ball. 🙌
He doesn’t distance himself from the blame by saying they didn’t play as a team. He was on the team, so if he says they didn’t play together, he is included in that. Especially given his past comments about how he struggled to hit here, I think he is aware that he could have played better and done more for the team. I certainly wish we could have gotten that level of production on this year‘s team.
@@MarineLayerPodTeoscar seems to be very happy to be a Dodger. He deferred some his salary. For the M’s, Teo had 26 HR and 93 RBI. He was streaky and inconsistent, but he had 33 HR and 99 RBI for the 2024 Dodgers. Now, he and James Paxton have WS rings as well as Chris Taylor and Taylor Trammel (I think as he played 5 games for the Dodgers), 4 players who were in the M’s organization.
If he wanted to be a Mariner he'd be a Mariner. I don't miss him either. I wonder how the Dodgers will feel when he starts striking out like his job, instead of being a baseball player.
I think the Dodgers like him just fine since they’ve just won the World Series! He was instrumental in the win. Dodgers are lucky to have him. Love Teoscar! Miss him in Toronto!

i mean, Teo cost ~$3mill more than Haniger, and significantly outperformed him…at the time it would’ve been a mistake to bring him back, but they didn’t replace him with an either similar or better producer offensively…therefore not bringing him back was a huge mistake.
That’s a fair take to have! They got rid of him to cut down on strikeouts.. and then didn’t cut down on strikeouts haha. In fact, they struck out more in 2024
@marinelayerpod i just think that strikeouts are a part of the game nowadays, have to accept that, so why not get the production numbers that come with it? what good is striking out 20-30 times less if you also get 20-30 less home runs, 25-35 less doubles, 50-60 less RBI, 30-40 less runs? it’s all hindsight now, but the league batting average has dipped significantly in the last decade, might as well admit it as an organization because chasing the bat to ball philosophy backfired and the counting numbers were severely lacking while experiencing more strikeouts somehow.
Great interview, what an engaging young man.
I’ve already said this, but let him be happy in LA. I don’t miss him. I’m very optimistic about the upcoming season.
Let’s hope 2025 is a success!

That explains everything. That’s probably the reason that everyone was swinging for the fences. Everyone is out for themselves.
Not so sure it’s that. It’s tough to say exactly what exactly he means

like the saying goes, the fish rots from the head. basically, an organization eventually fails or goes bad when its leader is bad
“You’re only as good as your leadership”…

West coast best coast. East coast least coast.
