This videos are really well done even for deaf paddlers, we only have to look carefully to the kajakers. I'm really convinced of this explanations, thx for posting! Kind regards, Henry
@@simoncoward34 Absolutely, it makes me pleasured to pay attention next time in my boat on training that skills properly. It looks so easy, the technique is exemplary!
I came here to learn how to put drugs in my butt, but found a lifetime passion hobby I never knew existed. Thank you so much for opening my eyes to the truth of how beautiful life can actually be. 🧡
Back when I taught kayaking, we called this "how to catch an eddy" using angle, momentum and lean. Boofing was about how to land a steep but shallow waterfall or just fly over a shallow rock with a big sticky hole behind it???
Thanks for checing out the video. We also use ths to teach catching eddies, we then just add the additional lean, stroke timing and feature to turn it into a cross current speed boof. The arc of the 'eddy turn' coming to the drop allows the boof stroke to drive the kayak straight off a droprather than have it turn. Lots of ways to boof for sure, this is just a pregression we use for strong intermediate paddlers learning to boof.
cookumms boofing aint painful, you need to use more water and the speed wont hurt your ass as much, and its best if you use vaseline so the boofer can slide right up your ass and deliver the boof solution
Hi Scott. In its simplest description, boofing is the bow of the boat landing in a way that it rides over (rather than through) a hydraulic feature. The boof many people aspire to is off a waterfall and the boat lands flat and then skips away from the drop without losing downstream speed. It is a critical component of paddling harder whitewater. This video is designed to give intermediate paddlers some tangible working points to dial in the basics and progress from there. Hope that helps and happy to elaborate further.
Probably the best video of this kind. Clear, comprehensive direction with examples without being too long. Thank you man, doing a great job!
Thanks so much for the kind words and really humbled to hear the feedback!
