So Street Fighter 6 is here, and many people are not only perhaps playing their first Street Fighter, but their first Fighting Game period, so here is a beginners guide to help you out! So this video is here to help you understand the many aspects of Street Fighter, and SF6 specifically! So lets go over the gameplay systems and the basics, and hope this video helps you out!
I’ve been playing street fighter for a long time just never seriously. I mainly love it for the lore and characters but with this game I would love to learn! Amazing video!
@@Rooflemonger lol my head hurts from frame data trying to learn ken cause they say he is easy to understand and not my frst fighting game but always played on instinkt on mk but it is street fighter ny frst
This is just about the gold standard for making introductory content and it will definitely contribute to SF6's growth. Well practiced, well scripted, engaging and packed full of information that is absorbed easily. I was never more lost than having to run it back 10 seconds to rewatch something and understand. Beginners to SF6 who are watching this have it good. Great video, man!
Great video. It contained soo much stuff I did not even realize was there. For me as still beginner I would love a video dedicated on how to actually do it in practise. As in, what is the best way to go about in training mode to actually improve. Since there is soooo much stuff it's rather overwhelming. Also some tips and tricks on timing of combos in layman's terms would be amazing. 😊
I really appreciate stuff like this. I think the FGC really forgot people new to fighting games don't understand your "beginner" guide when you start using lingo like 6HK, 56MP, plus 1, etc.
Watching this felt like I was in the backseat of my parents car, driving home after going to the mall, and reading the game manual being so excited to get home and play. Thank you for this.
are you using modern controls? I’m new, I actually started on SFV a few months ago because I wanted to have the basics for 6 but I got rusty. Modern seems kind of appealing but I’m not sure on it
@@gutfrets1693 its mostly going to be character dependent. Some characters will work amazing with modern and some wont. Because you lose around 40% of your moves when using modern.
For some time I've always just watched friends or other people play fighting games and was too hesitant to pick it up myself. I enjoy watching your guides and have been for some time now as it lets me understand the mindset and the work that goes into actually playing. With Street Fighter 6, I decided I'm taking the plunge and jumping right in! Thank you for your hard work and coverage as always rooflemonger!
@@HaykInWonderland Its been going alright, learning what I can (very) slowly while playing online matches with some friends here and there. One of the things I realized was that I don’t like using pad whatsoever, at least for fighting games. Decided to go for an all button leverless controller (Snack Box Micro) as I feel it’d be much easier on my thumbs - I tend to put a bit too much pressure.
Just gotta remember that most arcade gamers in the early 90s didn't even have guides or training modes. It was all just trial & error plus word-of-mouth. The key is finding opponents at your own skill level so that you can learn together. Hopefully, the AI difficulty levels are much more accurate these days.
I remember watching your SFV guide which got me into fighting games. It was really great quality at not only explaining the game mechanics but also just how to play the game with neutral and ect. It’s cool to see you help new players with the next era/game of street fighter.

I really hope Capcom treats content creators like you well. Guides like this make getting into SF so much more easy and fun. Also the effort that went into the 'how to choose your main' video blew my mind. Great stuff!
I'm the kind of player who struggles with 4 unique inputs in a combo during a combo trial and forget combos entirely when I'm in a match. The core fundamentals of fighting games is what I'm struggling with. Just to be able to use the inputs I want to use without any mistakes is rare. I know that's something I should be able to overcome with enough practice, but it's kind of hard to practice when everyone I meet is learning mechanics unique to SF6 like the drive gauge and its uses while I'm figuring out how to move where I want to and use the moves I want to. This video was very informative and I know I should be able to use all this information soon. Thank you :)
It’s crazy how quickly you’ve got this all down and so clear and concise. As someone coming back to the franchise after a decade, this is so appreciated!
I haven't played Street fighter since the late '80s and within the first 3 minutes I heard three game changing things about Street fighter 6. You did a great job with this video. Thank you so much!
This is by far the best beginners guide I've found. I've honestly never played street fighter or any other 2d arcade fighter like this, but SF6 looked really cool so I decided to give it a try. Everything is explained and shown in a way that makes sense and it's so in depth! Thank you for the great info and the great work making the info understandable for people who don't know fighting games.
As someone who really got into fighting games this year and wanted to learn street fighter, but was extremely overwhelmed, thank you for making this. What a thoroughly thought out and well organized guide/tutorial, you've earned a sub for sure!
Long time MK player here. I ended up being not so inspired by MK1 and have been SO EXCITED by Aki!! She's the most unique fighting character I've seen lately. Thinking about trying SF but have no experience with it and it seems really intimidating. Thank you for breaking things down to make the possible jump to SF much less scary. You are so in depth and a great teacher.

Amazing content. Keep up the incredible work. Just throwing this out there, would you consider an in depth guide to the training mode? Beginner, intermediate and advanced, options, how to set up situations, recording/playback, etc etc etc? I often see others, yourself, jmcrofts, etc going through the options so fast with no explanations how they are actually setting up situations it’s very hard to follow.
Wow, I’ve played street fighter and have been terrible at it since I was in grade school. This video is amazing and taught me soooo much. Thank you for being an absolute badass and for making it all make perfect sense. You’re the best.
Bro this was Beautifully orchestrated ! From a NRS gamer getting my hands on SF6 for the first time this was more then enough to get cranking ! Well done bro!
I’ve been trying to get into fighting games after playing smash for a little (semi competitively, I’ve gone to a handful of locals and a regional event but not much else) and your tekken video was a big help when I tried to jump into that game and this video is just as solid. Thanks for all the high quality info that doesn’t require a fgc dictionary to understand
I don't even own the game yet but I really enjoy your videos! I was eyeing the game cause I love the redesign they did for Cammy and your videos only made me want to get it more! I haven't played since the olden days of Super Street Fighter 2 so I better put on some work!
You are amazing. Im not a begginner in fighting games at all and this video is super useful even for people that are new to the genre. Im gonna show this to some friends that are starting with fighting games in SF6!
Not sure how this is for “beginners” when you immediately start going into frame data stuff without even explaining what that is or how to read any of the extra shit on your screen. You can’t assume beginners know fighting jargon lol
He's horrible at explaining things. Despite the fact that I already know what he's talking about, the way he explains it he somehow makes it more complicated than it should be.
Just rewatched this video for I don’t know which time and again learn many new things as I progressed in the game and now understand more. Thank you for this amazing video❤
Bro your amazing you’ve literally made combos way easier to understand thank you. I’m old and acquired an arcade stick about 2 months ago and just got sf6. I’m getting destroyed online. Thanks for helping the beginners
I only watched the first 3 minutes of the video but already have learnt so much! This is what beginners need! Thanks so much for making this! Liked and subscribed!
I appreciate how much detail went into this video. Never played street fighter so learning the inputs and links will be pretty difficult to execute. But I know if I continue to practice and return back to this guide, it will become easier after some time. Appreciate this 👍🏽
Came to you because you helped a ton with me getting good at Guilty Gear and there’s a ton about SF I don’t yet know despite having played 10 hrs with my cousin. I appreciate the dedication and information!
Long-winded comment: I recently got into FG's after being a Smash only player. Started to get bored of Smash as I found it less and less satisfying to play, realllly wanted to get into more traditional FG's but was too nervous/scared to start bc of people having so much more experience than me and motion inputs etc feeling daunting. Your channel is a GODSEND for me as its helped me tremendously. Watched your beginner series for Melty Blood when I started playing that as I didnt understand the mechanics/felt like a lot to take in and you explained things perfectly. Watched your Strive series when I got into that and same thing there, you really simplified and explained the mechanics SO clearly. Watched your KOF vids as well as I recently picked that game up as well and its easily my favorite of the FG's I've picked up besides Melty Blood. Your videos serve as a perfect guide into the world of fighting games and I cannot thank you enough because without them I might have never given them a chance. I'm still pretty bad at them but I at least feel like I have the understanding and capacity now to improve and don't just feel like I'm randomly mashing buttons all the time 😅

I'm brand new to Street Fighter with SF6, so I appreciate the amount of depth you went into with this video :)
Great place to start. I have played most of the series and it has not felt this good to play for a long time.
THANK YOU!!
Wow, I’ve played street fighter and have been terrible at it since I was in grade school. This video is amazing and taught me soooo much. Thank you for being an absolute badass and for making it all make perfect sense. You’re the best.
So basically everything light from punches to kicks and supers are faster and less risky, while everything from heavy is very risky

Loving all the new Roofle content with SF6!
i have been playing street fighter for 25 years i knew most of this stuff i just enjoy listening to rooflemonger chat about it
this guy sounds like Neil deGrasse Tyson
I don't even own the game yet but I really enjoy your videos! I was eyeing the game cause I love the redesign they did for Cammy and your videos only made me want to get it more! I haven't played since the olden days of Super Street Fighter 2 so I better put on some work!
Cammy looks good in zangiefs pile driver 😂
You are amazing. Im not a begginner in fighting games at all and this video is super useful even for people that are new to the genre. Im gonna show this to some friends that are starting with fighting games in SF6!
Anyone else get lost at the basics? 💀fuck it I paid for it so imma watch this till I get it
Lmao me, this shit so complicated to me compared to MK 💀
Lmao im dead you not lying tho 😂😂 didn’t pay $60 for nothing
@@cp99music just picked up luck and this game had gotten a lot easier, he kinda feels like jax from mk 11
Fantastic video for someone who is just starting out and don't know anything about the game more or less! Well done! I learned a lot.
Thanks, my dood! I was not aware how strong the drive parry was. What a game changer.
Just rewatched this video for I don’t know which time and again learn many new things as I progressed in the game and now understand more. Thank you for this amazing video❤
This is the best tutorial video I’ve ever come across. A real great starter for someone trying to get into the game.
Fantastic work.
I picked up sf6 and ggst AND tekken 8 this year. My first fighting games.
That "heeello aand welcome!" Has become my favorite thing lol
Love these type of guides I’m taking it old school and grabbing a pen and paper and taking notes just as if I was in school
I know this is an older guide, but I wanted to say thank you for this. I know it took an incredible amount of effort, but it was so helpful.
I just got the game and I immediately looked for your guide cuz it’s probably the best one out there !! Thanks
Bro your amazing you’ve literally made combos way easier to understand thank you. I’m old and acquired an arcade stick about 2 months ago and just got sf6. I’m getting destroyed online. Thanks for helping the beginners
I’m downloading streetfighter 6 right now and this may be the best explanation of a games mechanics I’ve ever seen
