Yeah, I knew I had a Blastoise and what moves it had, but I had to go back and check all of the others from the Hall of Fame. Just found the rest of my incredible team was composed of: a lvl2 pidgey, a lvl4 pikachu, a lvl13 bellsprout and a lvl15 machop. Yeah, I was *that* kid... (TBF in Gen 1 it was so easy to play the game that way)
Mine was shiny Torterra, shiny Gengar, shiny Roserade, and shiny Giratina. That was it. I wanted a full shiny team at the time but got too bored and beat it with that team. Edit- I never played through Diamond, it was actually Platinum.

For Some Reason, I always liked my teams to be random and varied, I never used Pokémon on my team that most typically choose. Platinum was my first game, and I used Infernape, Chatot, Pachirisu, Lopunny, Dustox, and Vaporeon. I eventually switched Dustox out for Lucario, and Vaporeon out for Octillery. Even though the team was so unusual, I still had a lot of fun with it.
I mean it is an egg that you get when your team is in the high 30s... not the most fun Pokemon to train. Plus his favourite Pokemon is Infernape which is also a fighting type, so not too surprising

I find these videos so enthralling. The best part of the Pokemon fanbase is learning how other player's experiences differ from yours, and learning what Pokemon they've used is the most interesting aspect of those experiences.
I've heard a lot of great things about this channel so I thought I should give it a peak. Safe to say I'm already subscribed and really enjoy the content of this channel. Funny enough I've never played a single pokemon game and have only played the mystery dungeon spinoffs.
The team I had for a playthrough that I felt very attached to was my Black 2 team of Serperior, Verizion, Gothitelle, Zoroark, Volcarona, and Garbodor. I love all six of these Pokémon and they really worked well during the playthrough
Maybe by the time gen 5 remakes come out, we’ll have hidden ability capsules that can turn serperior into a leaf storm spamming monster of destruction :)
My pokémon teams from Gen 1 are almost always different, but my team I remember most vividly was Venusaur, Golem (I have 2 3DS systems), Dragonite, Vaporeon, Nidoking, and Moltres. On the subject of Shiny Celebi, about a month ago, someone sent me one named Apollo through wonder trade on my Sun version and I couldn’t be happier.

Noivern is my favourite Pokemon, nobody ever talks about it much but I don’t get why. I think it deserves to be talked about more because it’s cool looking and it’s actually very helpful in play throughs. I know this since I used one in X and I can say with complete honesty that if you teach it air slash and give it a sky plate, it will wreck everything
My teams have some similarities to yours, Aura. I’m only going to go over my first teams from each game, since I played FireRed, Diamond, Platinum, Black and Black 2 multiple times. FireRed: My first Pokémon game, received from a friend of a childhood friend. Of course, I don’t remember everyone on the team, but I started with Squirtle and never took it off the first slot because I didn’t know you could, so he got exp from every battle. The others I know for certain are a female Vileplume, who I caught a male Gloom on Two Island for and eventually bred for a Bellossom, a Butterfree, because of the anime, and a Fearow I caught on Victory Road, which did well against the elite four. I think I might’ve had a Primeape too, but that’s it. Next, Diamond: I started with Turtwig. Again, I don’t think I remember every team member, but I definitely had Luxray and Staraptor, and either Floatzel or Gastrodon, the other being in Platinum. And Dialga of course. For Platinum, I started with Turtwig again. I think the team was basically the same except for Lucario, the water type, and Giratina. SoulSilver: Totodile starter! The team changed a bit near the end because almost everyone was weak to electricity. Feraligatr, Red Gyarados, Pidgeot, Togekiss, Lugia. I believe I took Pidgeot and Togetic off for a female Dragonite and Mamoswine to help with Lance. Dragonite I know for certain because I still have it. Next up, Black: Finally we reach the time where I actually remember the entire team. Snivy start. Final Team: Serperior, Simipour, Unfezant Male, Stoutland, Victini (thanks to a school friend) Sawk, and Reshiram, who replaced Sawk. Black 2: Originally I had planned to start with Tepig, but I ended up picking Oshawott instead. Final Team: Samurott, Swoobat, Volcarona, Lucario, N’s Zoroark and Magnezone. X: Froakie was the starter. Final Team: Greninja, Mega Venusaur, Talonflame, Mega Blaziken (Event Torchic with Mega Stone), Korrina’s Mega Lucario, and Xerneas. I also had a Pansage early on but boxed it to make room for a Tyrunt that I wound up trading for an Amaura. Omega Ruby: Treecko started it off. Final Team: Mega Sceptile, Mega Latios, Makit the Hariyama (traded from NPC) Mightyena, Primal Groudon, and Mega Diancie (though I barely used her as she was distributed at Level 50, and I had just reached Lavaridge Town). I also used the Cosplay Pikachu Rock Star until I caught Groudon. Sun: With this one, Litten was my starter. Final Team: Incineroar, Trumbeak, Event Snorlax, Ash-Greninja,Mudsdale, and Solgaleo. I also used a Crabominable, which was painful, to say the least. Moon: Popplio Starter. Final Team: Primarina, Lurantis, Midnight Lycanroc, Arcanine, and Lunala. (I can’t remember the last one at the moment) Ultra Sun: Rowlet was the starter this time. Final Team: Decidueye, Dusk Lycanroc, Naganadel, Bewear (received from a trade, the Stuffel was hatched from an egg with Stomping Tantrum, Mega Kick, Ice Punch and Fire Punch, WOW) Alolan Raichu (caught in X on my second save file, I transferred it to teach it Volt Tackle because of its high attack only to find it was stuck in Alola for no reason) and Araquanid. Finally, Shield: Scorbunny is my starter. Final Team: Cinderace (massive disappointment imo), Corviknight, Amped Up Toxtricity, Galarian Rapidash, Appletun, Drednaw and Zamazenta. There’s also a Boltund that I liked but boxed because I got Toxtricity.
It is always interesting looking back on those old teams that you played through Pokemon with. I remember my first ever playthrough of Pokemon I had three grass types.
I've been keeping records of every Pokémon I caught and used in each playthrough I had. I only do one playthrough, because it's rare for me to enjoy the story of a game more than once, but I caught a large number of Pokémon and started recording them, because I lost my Diamond game and couldn't remember all of my Pokémon. I remember having Infernape(first to get to lvl 100 since playing blue), Staraptor(I always got a bird Pokémon as my first catch in each region, aside from Hoenn(never found tallow), Black 2, and Galar), Alakazam(The second strongest on my team), Floatzel(I always caught the two types I didn't choose from that region), and Luxray.

Didn't play gen 2 Gen 3(omega ruby): sceptile, Lucario(i traded from Y), charizard(also traded), pikachu. I don't remember the rest Didn't play gen 4 Gen 5(black 2): Emboar, Lucario, Zoroark, Azumarill, Unfezant, Jolteon. I also used ampharos and dragonite. Gen6(Y): Greninja, Charizard, Lucario, jolteon, i don't remember the rest.
I started with Red as my first game ever, and being the dumb 10 year old who didn't speak english at all at the time, i didn't know how HALF the things in the game worked, or even what any of the NPCs said... I started with Charmander, and eventually caught a Paras and traded a Spearow for Dux the Farfetche'd... I then caught a Rhyhorn and a Seel. My final pokemon was Aerodactyl... This was my first team ever in pokemon... Sounds more like the team you would end up with if you do wondertrades today, but i barely understood how types matched up at the time, didn't know about STAB and paid no attention to stats on my pokemon. The only sort of info i had at the time, being a poor danish boy, was an official strategy guide in norwegian, that i found at a gas station! So i couldn't read that either, but i used it to understand when i learned new moves, when and how to evolve and just appreciate the art...
@@soulhoney1908 I did of course beat Brock, but i was no smarter than throwing myself at him again and again until i got enough EXP from his first pokemon, and i leveled up to the point where i could defeat his Onix. I seem to remember that i had a Charmeleon by the time i finally beat him...
I still remember my first time ever playing a Pokémon game. My eldest brother lent me a red game boy color and fire red copy of his when I was around five or so, maybe 4. I already had a love for Pokémon but only ever watched the show/movies and got card packs whenever my parents let me. I was immediately hooked on the game and that first playthrough is what made me realize Snorlax was my favorite Pokémon. My final team was Charizard, Snorlax, Raichu, Vaporeon, Nidoking and Exeggutor. Sadly the game and and the system would inevitably be returned to my eldest brother some many years later but at that point I was no longer playing it and didn’t have many other GBA cartridges for the system other than Ruby that I found just not as fun as FireRed as a kid. Thought recently I bought myself a copy of FireRed as well as a red gameboy color for the nostalgia and to shiny hunt that team that I played through the game with as a kid, as well as maybe Mewtwo in the future. Though, over 9,000 SR’s in for Charmander I hope that I’m able to continue the game someday soon and I really hope it’s a boy so I can name it Fatalis because that just sounds cool and makes sense and I know would make the 5 year old me proud whose first nickname was Sparky given to a male Charmander. Thanks for the sudden rush of memories man, even the memories of all these other games which I had a blast experiencing for the first time.
I never realized that gen 4 team was so popular. Mine was the same except for subbing roserade and dialga for kricketune and lucario. Around the 8th gym I was thinking of switching kricketune for a garchomp but ended up keeping kricketune since it was the first bug type I had ever raised in a team from early game to late game, out of any generation I played so I grew attached to him. Out of all the gens I've played though the pokemon introduced in gen 4 were the ones that left the best impression and my gen 4 team is still my favorite with Luxray being my favorite pokemon on that team.
Awesome idea and nice teams. While I never got the chance to play the Johto (I mean to) games or the Gen 6 through 8, I do remember some teams I had. In Blue I believe I started off with Charmander and had a Male Nidoran which is why it’s my favorite today. And I can remember some members of my Sapphire playthroughs which typically included Sceptile or Blaziken. I’ve played Leaf Green a lot, but my current team is Charizard, Sandslash, Jolteon, Nidoking, Starmie and Zapdos (because why not?). My first Platinun was neat. Had Infernape, Staraptor, Rosersde, Giratina, Florzel, and Luxray. Platinum was the only game where I caught a shiny (Budew). I’ve only played White once and never finished White 2. In White I went with Embor since it kind of reminded me of a Pokémon version of Ganon 😅

(i even made Hop choose Scorbunny, which makes his team really difficult to fight since he also has a Rookidee) for the time being it’s: -Orbeetle, my screens setter -Araquanid, my Stall option if everything goes south -Ninjask speedy boi -Vikavolt special attack beast -Centiscorch all around good pokemon and i snatched from IOA a Venipede that’s now a Scolipede in preparation for Opals Gym

Safe to say I'm already subscribed and really enjoy the content of this channel.
Funny enough I've never played a single pokemon game and have only played the mystery dungeon spinoffs.

The team I had for a playthrough that I felt very attached to was my Black 2 team of Serperior, Verizion, Gothitelle, Zoroark, Volcarona, and Garbodor. I love all six of these Pokémon and they really worked well during the playthrough

My pokémon teams from Gen 1 are almost always different, but my team I remember most vividly was Venusaur, Golem (I have 2 3DS systems), Dragonite, Vaporeon, Nidoking, and Moltres. On the subject of Shiny Celebi, about a month ago, someone sent me one named Apollo through wonder trade on my Sun version and I couldn’t be happier.

Noivern is my favourite Pokemon, nobody ever talks about it much but I don’t get why. I think it deserves to be talked about more because it’s cool looking and it’s actually very helpful in play throughs. I know this since I used one in X and I can say with complete honesty that if you teach it air slash and give it a sky plate, it will wreck everything
My teams have some similarities to yours, Aura. I’m only going to go over my first teams from each game, since I played FireRed, Diamond, Platinum, Black and Black 2 multiple times. FireRed: My first Pokémon game, received from a friend of a childhood friend. Of course, I don’t remember everyone on the team, but I started with Squirtle and never took it off the first slot because I didn’t know you could, so he got exp from every battle. The others I know for certain are a female Vileplume, who I caught a male Gloom on Two Island for and eventually bred for a Bellossom, a Butterfree, because of the anime, and a Fearow I caught on Victory Road, which did well against the elite four. I think I might’ve had a Primeape too, but that’s it. Next, Diamond: I started with Turtwig. Again, I don’t think I remember every team member, but I definitely had Luxray and Staraptor, and either Floatzel or Gastrodon, the other being in Platinum. And Dialga of course. For Platinum, I started with Turtwig again. I think the team was basically the same except for Lucario, the water type, and Giratina. SoulSilver: Totodile starter! The team changed a bit near the end because almost everyone was weak to electricity. Feraligatr, Red Gyarados, Pidgeot, Togekiss, Lugia. I believe I took Pidgeot and Togetic off for a female Dragonite and Mamoswine to help with Lance. Dragonite I know for certain because I still have it. Next up, Black: Finally we reach the time where I actually remember the entire team. Snivy start. Final Team: Serperior, Simipour, Unfezant Male, Stoutland, Victini (thanks to a school friend) Sawk, and Reshiram, who replaced Sawk. Black 2: Originally I had planned to start with Tepig, but I ended up picking Oshawott instead. Final Team: Samurott, Swoobat, Volcarona, Lucario, N’s Zoroark and Magnezone. X: Froakie was the starter. Final Team: Greninja, Mega Venusaur, Talonflame, Mega Blaziken (Event Torchic with Mega Stone), Korrina’s Mega Lucario, and Xerneas. I also had a Pansage early on but boxed it to make room for a Tyrunt that I wound up trading for an Amaura. Omega Ruby: Treecko started it off. Final Team: Mega Sceptile, Mega Latios, Makit the Hariyama (traded from NPC) Mightyena, Primal Groudon, and Mega Diancie (though I barely used her as she was distributed at Level 50, and I had just reached Lavaridge Town). I also used the Cosplay Pikachu Rock Star until I caught Groudon. Sun: With this one, Litten was my starter. Final Team: Incineroar, Trumbeak, Event Snorlax, Ash-Greninja,Mudsdale, and Solgaleo. I also used a Crabominable, which was painful, to say the least. Moon: Popplio Starter. Final Team: Primarina, Lurantis, Midnight Lycanroc, Arcanine, and Lunala. (I can’t remember the last one at the moment) Ultra Sun: Rowlet was the starter this time. Final Team: Decidueye, Dusk Lycanroc, Naganadel, Bewear (received from a trade, the Stuffel was hatched from an egg with Stomping Tantrum, Mega Kick, Ice Punch and Fire Punch, WOW) Alolan Raichu (caught in X on my second save file, I transferred it to teach it Volt Tackle because of its high attack only to find it was stuck in Alola for no reason) and Araquanid. Finally, Shield: Scorbunny is my starter. Final Team: Cinderace (massive disappointment imo), Corviknight, Amped Up Toxtricity, Galarian Rapidash, Appletun, Drednaw and Zamazenta. There’s also a Boltund that I liked but boxed because I got Toxtricity.

I've been keeping records of every Pokémon I caught and used in each playthrough I had. I only do one playthrough, because it's rare for me to enjoy the story of a game more than once, but I caught a large number of Pokémon and started recording them, because I lost my Diamond game and couldn't remember all of my Pokémon.
I remember having Infernape(first to get to lvl 100 since playing blue), Staraptor(I always got a bird Pokémon as my first catch in each region, aside from Hoenn(never found tallow), Black 2, and Galar), Alakazam(The second strongest on my team), Floatzel(I always caught the two types I didn't choose from that region), and Luxray.

I started with Red as my first game ever, and being the dumb 10 year old who didn't speak english at all at the time, i didn't know how HALF the things in the game worked, or even what any of the NPCs said...
I started with Charmander, and eventually caught a Paras and traded a Spearow for Dux the Farfetche'd... I then caught a Rhyhorn and a Seel. My final pokemon was Aerodactyl...
This was my first team ever in pokemon... Sounds more like the team you would end up with if you do wondertrades today, but i barely understood how types matched up at the time, didn't know about STAB and paid no attention to stats on my pokemon.
The only sort of info i had at the time, being a poor danish boy, was an official strategy guide in norwegian, that i found at a gas station! So i couldn't read that either, but i used it to understand when i learned new moves, when and how to evolve and just appreciate the art...
Did you pass brock because you know brock with a Charmander is very hard
@@soulhoney1908 I did of course beat Brock, but i was no smarter than throwing myself at him again and again until i got enough EXP from his first pokemon, and i leveled up to the point where i could defeat his Onix. I seem to remember that i had a Charmeleon by the time i finally beat him...

I still remember my first time ever playing a Pokémon game. My eldest brother lent me a red game boy color and fire red copy of his when I was around five or so, maybe 4. I already had a love for Pokémon but only ever watched the show/movies and got card packs whenever my parents let me. I was immediately hooked on the game and that first playthrough is what made me realize Snorlax was my favorite Pokémon. My final team was Charizard, Snorlax, Raichu, Vaporeon, Nidoking and Exeggutor. Sadly the game and and the system would inevitably be returned to my eldest brother some many years later but at that point I was no longer playing it and didn’t have many other GBA cartridges for the system other than Ruby that I found just not as fun as FireRed as a kid. Thought recently I bought myself a copy of FireRed as well as a red gameboy color for the nostalgia and to shiny hunt that team that I played through the game with as a kid, as well as maybe Mewtwo in the future. Though, over 9,000 SR’s in for Charmander I hope that I’m able to continue the game someday soon and I really hope it’s a boy so I can name it Fatalis because that just sounds cool and makes sense and I know would make the 5 year old me proud whose first nickname was Sparky given to a male Charmander. Thanks for the sudden rush of memories man, even the memories of all these other games which I had a blast experiencing for the first time.
I never realized that gen 4 team was so popular. Mine was the same except for subbing roserade and dialga for kricketune and lucario. Around the 8th gym I was thinking of switching kricketune for a garchomp but ended up keeping kricketune since it was the first bug type I had ever raised in a team from early game to late game, out of any generation I played so I grew attached to him. Out of all the gens I've played though the pokemon introduced in gen 4 were the ones that left the best impression and my gen 4 team is still my favorite with Luxray being my favorite pokemon on that team.

While I never got the chance to play the Johto (I mean to) games or the Gen 6 through 8, I do remember some teams I had. In Blue I believe I started off with Charmander and had a Male Nidoran which is why it’s my favorite today. And I can remember some members of my Sapphire playthroughs which typically included Sceptile or Blaziken. I’ve played Leaf Green a lot, but my current team is Charizard, Sandslash, Jolteon, Nidoking, Starmie and Zapdos (because why not?). My first Platinun was neat. Had Infernape, Staraptor, Rosersde, Giratina, Florzel, and Luxray. Platinum was the only game where I caught a shiny (Budew). I’ve only played White once and never finished White 2. In White I went with Embor since it kind of reminded me of a Pokémon version of Ganon 😅
