    I loved seeing the tackles this man made. I would cringe sometimes at the fierceness of his hits. But he was not a dirty player. His hits were clean and when he hit a player, they knew who hit them without seeing who it was.

    Eric Dickerson was interviewed and was asked about Ronnie and said " every time we broke the huddle I wanted to know where he was at" That was the kind of respect Ronnie had earned.

    Ronnie Lott was the greatest and toughest ever one of my favorite 49ers players all-time I absolutely loved watching him play he was a Warrior on the field there will never ever be no play like # 42 on the 49ers defense Ronnie lott was the heart and soul of that until

    He was my all time favorite from my Niners Defense....I wore that number 42 and tried playing like him in my balling days. He was bad ass, none can play like him. Some might remind us of him but only for a play or two. He was all in every week and year

    I grew up watching greats like Lott, Lawrence Taylor, Prime Time Sanders, Rice, Montana etc. Today's NFL ain't got nothin' on that era.

      Honestly not really. He led with the shoulder and waited for the receiver to make contact with the ball. He didn’t hit many of those players in the head. I honestly don’t think most if not all those hits aren’t legal still

    When it comes to defensive backs, I always call Lott "the Godfather". Others will debate on whether Ed Reed or Troy Polamalu is the true GOAT at the safety position, but even as a Ravens fan (with a very pro-Reed bias for obvious reasons), if you ask me who is the GOAT of defensive backs in general, Lott is my answer. Lott also played at corner, something that neither Reed nor Polamalu did, which gives Lott a major edge in this particular debate.
