    just a brake down for understanding. hot to coils. mosfets are on off switches. the caps turn the mosfets on briefly. the resistors' count controls the timing. so for speed control you need to either adjust the time with viable resistors or control the watts on the hot.

      @suman BAraL, it works, but only with no load. It’s enough to get a motor spinning, which is all I wanted. The phase timing’s all wrong if you want to actually put it to work. I’ve blown up a few driver chips with bad motors, so something this simple is perfect for a quick test that goes beyond just measuring the resistance across windings.

    Excellent, but only applicable for "star" connections. In addition, it is basically an oscillator, so it will not work on different motors of a similar type unless the parameters of the components change.

    • @jimviau327
      @jimviau327 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nevertheless, I think it's an impressively simple and well thought circuit.

    • @DL-kc8fc
      @DL-kc8fc 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@jimviau327 :) It's not a well-thought-out circuit - it's still about the same principle. Notice the 6x mosfet on the original board. It would be better to call it an alternative or emergency method that can work for a while if we only want to turn without a purpose. The author of the video did not show an AC source that most likely contains a frequency converter. His domestic production would be more complicated. Therefore, it does not work for some people, or it works to a limited extent, except that they have to use a motor that is connected to a "star". Not everything is as simple as it appears in the video. Anyway, I agree that it's impressive, but my "excellent" rather belonged to the magical involvement of mosfets ... :)

    • @jimviau327
      @jimviau327 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Valen Tino , yes , your arguments are legit. I guess my appreciation of that circuit may come from the fact that most motor drivers use so many more parts and its the first time I see this one. So it's a bit of a surprise to see a 3 MOSFETs 3 diodes 3 resistors arrangement that works.

    Hello, Very good summary of brushless motor control. In my case, I am looking for a controller for brushless motor. The motor operates at 12 to 14v and produces 850w of power. This is to be able to control the motorized fan of my vehicle which no longer works because there is a CAN network problem. I used the controller in your video but it didn't work for long (burnt out) because it was too light for the power of my motor. Do you know of a commercial controller that can accept the power of my motor?

      On actual scooters bike controllers they use 2 pairs to use reverse magnetic force cycles. So adds one more step for each coil too. But Abit more complicated and recruites better protection .

    My replacement pcb has these connections PLUS a "K" (relay?) and "-" beside it.
    What is relay used for? Does K mean relay? And, since "K" is not a component on my original pcb does that mean this pcb will not work unless connected to some type relay?
    Tried looking online/Google. No luck. Need some hell. Hope u can.

    Should work as a power assist motor for an crude e-bike. Even if this doesn't spin the motor, getting going with pedals will spin it up to hopefully get it working. These circuits usually don't spin the motor up on their own, they need a small push or a startup current spike has to induce enough voltage in other coil, and this can and does vary from motor to motor.

    • @XavierBetoN
      @XavierBetoN ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking for an ebike project as well. I also don't think that ebike motors necessarily require to start from 0 rpm as there is a pedal doing that job while riding it.
