I was thinking "wow, pretty cool" until you shipped out the custom soldering iron and then, that earned you a goddamn.sub
The Mosfet terminal D (middle one) and the screw hole metal are the same connecting conductor, it is important to show how isolation is done between the screw and the body of the heatsink. Otherwise all D terminals will be shorted.

I want to be able to do a scaled up version of this, for say a 5kw BLDC, to work for my boat conversion. I don't really know the 2nd thing about this stuff. Anyone willing to share their wealth of knowledge? I intend to use ebike-type parts but obviously throttle grip speed controller is t gonna cut it for a boat. A foot pedal could work, but is also not ideal. Any ideas?

You do not want to use this for a 2KW motor,why, it don't have good control, and a 3hp motor you want control, at least I hope so.

URGENT!!! I am looking for an audio pre-amplifier capable of 300\400 times gain. There are several diagrams in the N.E. manual with explanations, and it can be nerve-wracking to stand there with formulas to be able to find the ideal Rx value ..... . The LM358 IC is great but I would like to know what is it capable of doing? What max results can be obtained? In short a noise or a voice at a certain distance .... . How to get it as close as possible and then run it through an 'AB' type amplifier. But what wattage is needed ....... ? Thank you very much.

The video at 5:49 suggests a star configuration for the motor coils. However, delta configurations are also common.
This circuit simply isn't compatible with a delta configuration. A delta configuration requires current to flow through 2 coils, and this only does one, and to the common central point.
You'd need 6 transistors and a microcontroller to control that - you've just made an actual ESC that you can control!

Like you for the diagram! There is no 4.7 kOhm resistor on the diagram, but there is one in the video. Why ? I repeated it exactly from the video - it works, but the motor itself does not start - you need to push it. I supply 9 volts from a laboratory source. Why not 12 volt power?

What is the function of the diodes installed from the gate to the drain?
Can you make the motor go forward and backward? And if you can do it; try to slow down the motor so we can see what direction is turning.

You just need to make sure the source drain and gate match on both transistors and you should be fine.
@@Fernybeme Hi, thanks for your reply. I have tested with both IRFZ44 and IRF540 and they bothe turn the motor at a voltage higher than 5V. I used 8V

What kind of motor is it? Brushed or brushless? If it has 2 wires, it's probably brushed. If it has 3 wires then it's probably brushless.
If brushed, you can use single switch PWM even without filters. Just remember to put freewheeling diode. Brushed motor control modules are also available for sale.
If it's BLDC, you are better off buying a BLDC controller rather than trying to build one (if purpose is learning, surely try building one).

Very cool! Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems that to get more Motor speed you are turning the Potentiometer knob to the opposite (left) side?

You should use plastic screws with your insulations
There is white insulation washers that make it not short, otherwise it would not work.
@@Ozzy3333333 but he used metal screws which could touch the heatsink from inside the hole
@@matejgamingandotherstuff6484 he is using a special insulation washer, it keeps the metal screw from touching the fet metal tab, its hard to see in the video, but its there, these are very common in power supplies.

Hi, I have just finished my mosfet esc as on your video but it does not work can you help me find the reason for this. When I give it power the hard disc motor stutters for a second and stops, if I turn the potentiometer it squeeks but doesn't turn, same with other 4 motors. Thankyou Donatello

But there are no capacitors! multivibrators need capacitors for reliable operation.
