The AF seems a little better, I think. It still has the issues all the Panasonics do, like you'll be on face and body, someone is gesturing and it suddenly focusses on their hand, which is really annoying. Sonys just don't do that in my experience and nor do Canons, so it's still second tier AF I think. The colour etc is still the best though and the IBIS is way better than competitors. On proxies I don't I've ever used a proxy file since switching to Resolve 7 years ago or so and just upgrading GPUs to decent ones. Back when I used Premiere it was a nightmare, it's so slow I had to make proxies, and it still barely uses any GPU power compared to Resolve. Resolve saved tons of time over the years just keeping everything native whether it's Red, HEVC or anything else.
It got maybe 35% better than before. Also, just have proxies ready to go without have to do anything is really nice to send off to an editor. I like not having to do extra steps after a long shoot

@@AnthonyRodriguezz it's definitely easier than sending full size files if you're on hotel wifi too!
Great video. Can you confirm something? Can you record proxies and have an external SSD at the same time? I heard you can't, be that seems silly to me.
ive got the lumix s5iix and I love the camera. Ive never had an issue with auto focus. I love the image quality, the colors and the 6k open gate. What else do we need as creators?!? It's time to focus on the content and stop comparing camera companies.
I’ve had so many issues with AF. It 100% needed to be updated and still needs to be updated further. It’s not about comparing camera companies buy rather having the right tool that makes your life easier
@AnthonyRodriguezz I decided to buy the S5IIX since you can film 1080p 120fps in 400 mbps. That's good enough to double the size in post edit and retain great detail, considering most 4k renders for social media typically require only 150 mbps video quality. There's a lot of features to look forward to in the S5IIX. Big jump from the micro 4/3 G9 that I had since 2019 and sold recently.
Great video as always Anthony🎉 I have a few questions 1. Is the ZV E1 enough for a long talking head(1-2h) in 4K 24p or do you use a fan? 2. Why are you making proxies? I have a Macbook Pro M1 Max and it can handle 10 bit, 4K Log even in 120p h264 or 265 in any bitrate. Wishing you great succes with your company🎉
Thanks Paul! 1. Yes, I’ve never had it overheat for situations like this. No fan 2. I talk about it in the videos, but to quickly send off to an editor so the project file is only 8gb instead of 128gb
Thank for making me keep my Panasonic gear. :) for the moment. I do miss touch tracking for certain cases though, and it’s a bit frustrating that LUMIX seems consider this a “serious amateur” camera..! Not adding 1080p out is really annoying for me, since I can’t send the picture to my director or use certain monitors. Open gate is fantastic though ❤.
I just go the Lumix 5 SII with Sigma 24-70 f2.8 lens and i really happy about it, thx for this update really usefull i will defenetly test proxi editing! what about your video setup? are you using a smoke filter? i am trying to get this look since long time..thx again for the help.
Please add usable touch tracking Lumix. There is no one in the world that would not complain about having the option to do touch tracking. Not having touch tracking is just another point to consider choosing another camera over the Lumix. You have nothing to loose, but everything to gain, please add touch tracking.
Honestly the average filmmaker is using manual focus and cine lenses even on very autofocus cameras like sony and canon, whereas the average videographer / hobbyist & Vloggers is demanding and asking for the most perfect autofocus. Hybrid cameras like the S5ii and R5c which are cinema cameras first with photography capability is catering to both budget filmmakers and videographers alike. The cinema world has changed alot over 10 years to where it used to be straight cinema cameras with no IBIS or Autofocus and with no dual gain ISO, forcing you to professional light your videos, is now being ruled by the demand of everything more auto friendly. but yes the s5ii is a great hybrid camera and I may grab it as my new B-camera & photography go to.
You mentioned other options being better out there as your reasoning for not selling. What other cameras are comparably better in a similar price range in your opinion?
Price point isn’t a factor for me as I use these cameras professionally. With that being said, I still run back to lumix and they’re amongst the cheapest!

I personally never suggest externally recording. I feel it’s cumbersome and could easily fail as it’s transferring data through a non-locking cable. It’s also heavier and require more cables/rigging
@@AnthonyRodriguezz have you noticed a big difference in the softness/sharpness of the external Braw vs S52 internal codec? Has Panasonic adjusted this? Hi Anthony, In which case/mode do you see the improve on the rolling shutter? I'm looking for a new camera for video and there's two things that bothers me with the lumix s5 ii. the possible moiré and the rolling shutter
Honestly I wouldn’t worry about either of those two things. My speculations aren’t scientific so I don’t want to point you in the wrong direction but those two issues are very minor regardless of the update or not
@Anthony Rodriguez love my s5ii over all but noticed it really has a hard time locking onto my baby's face. You have that issue with your son? I'll be standing over my 4 month old on the floor and shooting photos and it's detecting her face like 50% of the time. Not sure how other cameras do in this area if this is par for the course or what
@@AnthonyRodriguezzyeah it was right after update, but when I updated I didn't see there were special instructions to put the camera in P mode first so hopeful that didn't mess anything up. Like it's accurate when it grabs my kid but it wont detect a face there sometimes. To be fair, I'm inside and she has a big headband on. Also unrelated: Dustin isn't an ambassador. He did a whole video about him getting confused for one lol. The ambassadorship I guess was discontinued and they follow a new more casual model now that doesn't demand brand exclusivity.
That’s a beautiful kid… congrats… I still think todays filmmakers are to dependent on AF… No doubt it’s a delight but I started out for 4 years shooting on a modified super 16mm CP16 film camera… ❤
Thanks! For a lot of solo operator jobs that don’t necessarily require a whole crew, it’s essential. It basically lets me profit more from certain jobs and have a lot less stress when I have reliable AF.
not being able to shoot 6k open gate with the new proxy feature is a disappointment :/ glad the autofocus is better though 👏 I tested my one autofocus lens for maybe 2-3 minutes and it seemed nice lol 👏 wait I just watched the part about the touch tracking being unusable on Lumix, what do you normally do for autofocus settings on your S5iix, genuinely wondering because the few times I've used autofocus I mostly just tapped the screen lol (and it wasn't great)
I never tap my screen because it just reverts to spot focus 😞 I usually just use wide or center focus and then have my hand ready on the focus ring to override it
Autofocus is nice to have? Yes. It’s is a deal breaker? Not for me. I’ve shot tons of things on different systems, and I regretted not having good autofocus just a couple of times. And when you shoot a big project, usually it’s on cinema lenses, ergo no AF at all. What I’m trying to say is that using AF is, most of the time, laziness or inability to pull manual focus. Not all the time, I agree that sometimes it’s AF or nothing, but on professional shooting? Get good at manual focus (you can use it even on a gimbal with the right tools)
I would agree with half of what you said. To say “most of the time” it’s laziness or lack of skill is just flat out not true. I think the differentiator here is that people are thinking merely as artists/camera operators and not business owners/entrepreneurs when it comes to how they operate gear and handle client work
@@AnthonyRodriguezzI have to agree with you. I’m merely a camera operator, and I don’t care about most of the things other professionals, like content creators, seems to rely on. I understand the different approach to work, I’d just like for more people to make reviews and gears comparisons bearing in mind that not all professionals works the same way. I think sometimes it’s off putting how much creators tend to put an emphasis on some aspects that many other workers just ignore, resulting in very unbalanced reviews and a skewed perception of some gears (not your reviews thou, they’re good). Ultimately many brands’ focus shift to the majority’s claims and many professionals feels they’re paying more money for technology geared towards just one kind of user. Really my two cents here…
@fedzciulla I agree! It’s hard to get all perspectives in a video! That’s one of the main reasons I’m grateful there are so many different creators in this space rn. (One of the only reasons 😂)
@@AnthonyRodriguezz open gate, better ibis and 6k are th winning arguments for me and you need to spend at least fx3 money to get a non overheating full frame camera
I believe they are holding back the goodies for the next camera, I have it in my head that this new firmware update was something they were working for a new camera and they decide to give it to us as a little taste of whats is coming, at least I hope that that the case 🤞
@@AnthonyRodriguezz sorry if I had you confused I was talking about your little one the way he’s too cute for that camera or any camera it’s a compliment bud 👍
Do you ever talk about all the wonderful things Panasonic provides that Sony cannot ever touch? Like C4k, waveforms, luminous spot meter, a score of other things. Plus the colors are better and the image of the LUMIX is much better. What about how much better V-log is?!? So much easier to grade. What about the horrible amount of picture profiles?? These are nothing more that, "We have no idea what anything should look like, so here are a whole bunch of image adjustment functions for you--figure it out for yourselves." nonsense. Give us some decent picture profiles I camera, Sony.
Multiple cameras, having a really shallow DOF and having a subject that moves ALOT. I’d rather not have to tell the client “try not to sway back and forth” which ends up taking away from what they will eventually say. I don’t use it for all talking head interviews and I just realized all my BTS broll was from talking head interviews 🤦🏽♂️😂
There’s no doubt that having good autofocus is a helpful tool for filmmakers, but we’ve been spoiled with this technology. Filmmakers have been pulling focus for years without the need for this technology.
I get that, I just change the way I shoot and if I NEED a wide shot, it’ll just have to be 24p or I have to take some steps back. Not ideal but I make it work for the sake of everything else
@@AnthonyRodriguezz Y3ah fair . The way i see it is if im shooting 4k60 cropped on a full frame most of the time, might aswell just get a crop sensor camera and spend less on lens and have less weight.
@SharrodVisuals I see you point 🤔the S5ii is far better than the fx30 in a plethora of ways though. Even just comparing the images, the Lumix is far superior imo
Dude, You do know AF is used all the time for certain shots that would otherwise be impossible with a smaller crew? I understand what you’re saying and for most client work I shoot manually. When I’m running on a gimbal and I am solo, having reliable AF and specifically the control of touch tracking is so useful
As a long time GH4/5 user, who jumped in S5 as soon as it came out, I do not regret switching to ZV-E1 (and a few zve10s), because my clients do not care for rolling shutter or ibis, they want to be in focus :)
Also, I almost never get rid of my older gear, so I still keep all my Lumix M4/3 cameras and lenses, all the Lmount lenses, I just added a whole bunch of E-mount cameras and mostly prefer using them. But for some jobs I still use the GH5
"I can't have my cameras messing up when a client is paying me" - that is called manual focus. I know I know AF is fancy and why don't you use AF if it is there... call me a boomer but IMHO anybody wants to work with video as a professional, the bare minimum is to learn to focus manually. Anything can happen on set when AF won't be reliable or won't work at all, then what? Panicking? Don't take it offensive or personally, but I think it is a wrong approach to rely only to the tech and always immediately replace the tool with and an other which is barely better. Nowadays with a little care most of the cameras are perfectly good enough for professional work
No offense taken! I can focus manually. I’ve already responded to this same perspective a couple of times but, having reliable AF allows me to take on certain low budget jobs and not need a 1st AC as well as get certain shots that I otherwise would not be able to get whatsoever with pulling focus manually and having no crew. It makes my life easier on set as well as opens up the possibilities for different shots that would not be possible otherwise. I don’t use it for everything but having reliable AF is ALWAYS a plus
@@AnthonyRodriguezz of course its a huge plus. And I agree with you I also use AF a lot. I just wanted to point out that AF shouldn't be a dealbreaker. I used cameras for years these edge cases you mentioned with contrast based AF and served well. Not ideal of course but never wanted to replace an entire system just because of AF. Wrong color science is an other story. Khm... Sony... 😀
@broaf ooooo I don’t know if I can get behind that actually. Color science is something I think is a little silly for the most part as any 10bit image can be graded to look like another. Having a good SOOC is nice but AF I’d much more valuable imo. Different strokes though!
@@AnthonyRodriguezz agreed. With 10bit you can have precise control over the image. I myself still prefer the color as I dont need to work a lot on creative grading for most of my works and appreciate if I can get good colors faster. But yeah everything depends on type and situations. Luckily for me the Lumix has now great colors and af (both much improved from past models)
Your comment about rolling shutter is interesting because everybody tells me the rolling shutter in this camera is absolute crap!? as far as auto focus goes, nothing can touch a Sony. The only weakness in Sony camera is the ibis is mediocre. I don’t know, I’m probably gonna stick with Sony, but I might rent this camera for the weekend and play around with it and see what I can do.
They will catch on. I’m sure of it. After meeting the team, I can tell they actually care but there also a chain of command they have to answer to in Japan
If you are in a studio, why would you use auto focus if you only want to focus on your face? Just set it manually and it will just stay there. Unless you have your subjects sitting in a swing chair going back and forth..
@@jaxwedel for that exact reason, people sway back and forth as well as, I’m not trying to shoot at f5.6+. I like having the option to shoot shallow, if desired There for sure are situations where I would just lock it off though

They should just add an "advanced user" section that will enable additional things like we want and hide it for those that don't want
Yeah… I think they might be trying to appeal too much to the beginner crowd and over complicated simple things for the sake of ease of use
Blablabla....autofocus beczuse paying clients? Pros use manual focus not autofocus or?...no AF is perfect! MF is😊
Thanks for the honest review
Always!
Ok, i wanted sony a7lv but after ur review im sure about Af in this camera, thanks will reorder it
Cmon! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great video. Can you confirm something? Can you record proxies and have an external SSD at the same time? I heard you can't, be that seems silly to me.
Hey! I’m probably not the best person to ask as I never record externally to an ssd
ive got the lumix s5iix and I love the camera.
@@AnthonyRodriguezz agreed. We also used the cameras for different purposes.
At 1:06 you mentioned 4K 120fps. Does the S5II have 4K 120? I read the specs on the Panasonic website and didn't see it, unless I missed it.
That was referring to the zv-e1
@AnthonyRodriguezz okay thanks. I'm hoping Panasonic includes 4K 120 on their Full Frame line some day.
Great video as always Anthony🎉 I have a few questions
No fan
2. I talk about it in the videos, but to quickly send off to an editor so the project file is only 8gb instead of 128gb
Thanks for amazing video, can i ask what lens do you use in lumix in the beach , look so natural and super nice colors!!! Epic review like always
I used a simple sigma 28-70 f2.8!
The colors came from the way I ended up colorgrading it all.
Thanks for the kind words!
Do you have this settings turned on : GEAR>AF>EYE DETECTION AF? I'm not having that issue with the hands by the face.
I’ve tried all settings
@@AnthonyRodriguezzno you didn’t bc I don’t have that problem
lol… did you just tell me what I did and didn’t do?
Thank for making me keep my Panasonic gear. :) for the moment. I do miss touch tracking for certain cases though, and it’s a bit frustrating that LUMIX seems consider this a “serious amateur” camera..! Not adding 1080p out is really annoying for me, since I can’t send the picture to my director or use certain monitors. Open gate is fantastic though ❤.
This is great to hear!
You should 100% be manual focus for client work, especially talking heads and weddings. I can't imagine using auto focus for something important.
Depends on the work, budget, crew and many other factors but I agree with you to a certain extent
I just go the Lumix 5 SII with Sigma 24-70 f2.8 lens and i really happy about it, thx for this update really usefull i will defenetly test proxi editing! what about your video setup? are you using a smoke filter? i am trying to get this look since long time..thx again for the help.
I actually do all my diffusion digitally!
Please add usable touch tracking Lumix. There is no one in the world that would not complain about having the option to do touch tracking. Not having touch tracking is just another point to consider choosing another camera over the Lumix. You have nothing to loose, but everything to gain, please add touch tracking.
Agreed
Very helpful. Subscribed. Now I’m considering this camera. How would you recommend changing the focus tracking subject while recording run and gun.
Thanks!
I would recommend just not using the touch tracking…
'some people doesn't want a tonn of control'😳
Yeah… 🤦🏽♂️
I know you're a film maker but when you say the image quality is best out of all mirrorless cameras is that for photos as well?
I don’t have too much of a reference for photo but I do know they look great!
can you compare ibis to zve1 dynamic?
@@AnthonyRodriguezz okay cool man thanks
Lumix/Ricoh Gang! 👊🏼
Yee yee!
Beo, do you recommend I buy the SONY A7CII or the LUMIX S5iiX right now?
I would personally choose S5ii, not even the X
But that’s just me. I can’t really tell you which camera to get without knowing the type of work you do
Customizable desqueeze also ! please ! :*
🙏🏼
@@AnthonyRodriguezz that and a desqueeze mode for photography. Id like to use my sirui to shoot panavision pictures but the desqueeze doesn't allow it ! :(
Do you have recommended focus settings for the S5II?
I’m honestly still trying to figure it out myself before making any recommendations
@@AnthonyRodriguezz Yeah same for myself, I'm not very sure about it, but the new update made it so much better 😅
Tried the stabilization by running through our apartment the whole afternoon 😂
would you recommend using the Video Assist 12g with this cam at this point? I know in past you made a video not favoring the setup over an actual Blackmagic camera.
I guess my main reason for thinking of external Braw is to take away the sharpness and debating if the cumbersome setup is worth the end result. thanks
I have owned the Lumix S5II and Canon R5, my last Canon, Owned many canon's. Been a pro photographers for the last 17 years, Mostly Canon , Have missed many/few moments due to Auto Focus issues, After seeing Multiple Sony's in action at a wedding reception. I went and Bought the A7RV with 24-70 GM, 16-35 GM and a 85 Sigma F1.4 Art Lens. After using the Sony for couple of months, I can tell you the Sony is the King of Auto Focus, hands down Bro!! LOVE IT, Dumped all my canon Gear , including My very $$$Glass collection and also the Lumix S5II on Ebay. Extremely Pleased with my decision
Sonys AF really is top notch
What 2 Sony camera set up do u use ?
I don’t run a 2 camera setup from Sony. Only have 1

🙌🏼 let them know!
The IBIS is making me want one of these now, even though I am pretty happy with my Sony Fx30. My only issue with it is that I would prefer not to have to use a gimbal at all, and the S5 seems to solve that entirely. Why did you do this to me? 😡 Seriously though, great video 👍
Sorry 🤭
What if you grab the lens, pull yhe focus where u want ans hold that subject?
And then you’re on a gimbal as a solo operator and subject isn’t standing still?
Woah… 🤯
S5ii or s5iix which do you recommend for hybrid use?
They’re both basically the same camera. If you’re not sure the exact reason why you want the s5iix, get a used s5ii
Of course YT recommends me your video after NAB
Gotta love the algo!
Remember it’s all in the hips 😏🕺🏽
I am a Sony fanboy….not going to lie, but I really love seeing LUMIX getting better and better at AF because that is the main reason I left Panasonic years ago. Would love to see Panasonic to be on par with Sony. One day! Great video!
I recently switched from Sony and Lumix and I don't regret it one but. Already better to me.
How is touch to track for photos?
Just as unusable
Hi Anthony, In which case/mode do you see the improve on the rolling shutter? I'm looking for a new camera for video and there's two things that bothers me with the lumix s5 ii. the possible moiré and the rolling shutter
Honestly I wouldn’t worry about either of those two things.
My speculations aren’t scientific so I don’t want to point you in the wrong direction but those two issues are very minor regardless of the update or not
I like the a7c mark 1 bodies...cheap price .(used) ....ibis...big battery...and ....actual full line pro.lenses
Only 8 bit though 😏
@Anthony Rodriguez love my s5ii over all but noticed it really has a hard time locking onto my baby's face. You have that issue with your son? I'll be standing over my 4 month old on the floor and shooting photos and it's detecting her face like 50% of the time. Not sure how other cameras do in this area if this is par for the course or what
Have you updated your camera?
@@AnthonyRodriguezzyeah it was right after update, but when I updated I didn't see there were special instructions to put the camera in P mode first so hopeful that didn't mess anything up. Like it's accurate when it grabs my kid but it wont detect a face there sometimes. To be fair, I'm inside and she has a big headband on.
Also unrelated: Dustin isn't an ambassador. He did a whole video about him getting confused for one lol. The ambassadorship I guess was discontinued and they follow a new more casual model now that doesn't demand brand exclusivity.
Is there a way to combat rolling shutter with a firmware update?

I don’t have a selfie stick!
It basically lets me profit more from certain jobs and have a lot less stress when I have reliable AF.
not being able to shoot 6k open gate with the new proxy feature is a disappointment :/ glad the autofocus is better though 👏 I tested my one autofocus lens for maybe 2-3 minutes and it seemed nice lol 👏
wait I just watched the part about the touch tracking being unusable on Lumix, what do you normally do for autofocus settings on your S5iix, genuinely wondering because the few times I've used autofocus I mostly just tapped the screen lol (and it wasn't great)
I never tap my screen because it just reverts to spot focus 😞
I usually just use wide or center focus and then have my hand ready on the focus ring to override it
Autofocus is nice to have?
(One of the only reasons 😂)
touch tracking is a first option in af menu
Yessir! Not very good at all though
@@AnthonyRodriguezz yes, I use it sometimes but its unreliable
For me lumix always was better than sony as sony does not have the feature set i want. I can do more with lumix so no sony for me.
Lumix does have a more robust feature set for videographers

I believe they are holding back the goodies for the next camera, I have it in my head that this new firmware update was something they were working for a new camera and they decide to give it to us as a little taste of whats is coming, at least I hope that that the case 🤞

Oooooh, thanks! Hah!
The camera looks pretty good always though 😏
Do you ever talk about all the wonderful things Panasonic provides that Sony cannot ever touch? Like C4k, waveforms, luminous spot meter, a score of other things. Plus the colors are better and the image of the LUMIX is much better. What about how much better V-log is?!? So much easier to grade. What about the horrible amount of picture profiles?? These are nothing more that, "We have no idea what anything should look like, so here are a whole bunch of image adjustment functions for you--figure it out for yourselves." nonsense.
Give us some decent picture profiles I camera, Sony.
Always
Why the s5ii over the x?
I don’t need ProRes or like to record externally
@@AnthonyRodriguezz that’s literally the difference???
Basically, yes
Just out of curiosity, why use AF for a talking head interview?
Multiple cameras, having a really shallow DOF and having a subject that moves ALOT. I’d rather not have to tell the client “try not to sway back and forth” which ends up taking away from what they will eventually say.
I don’t use it for all talking head interviews and I just realized all my BTS broll was from talking head interviews 🤦🏽♂️😂
One question why do you use autofocus in interview scenario.
Sometimes people move a ton and the plane of focus is really shallow
My guess...... In case the subject moves 🤯
listening to customers is how you gain customers

@@AnthonyRodriguezz how many minutes did you use it? So many said after 15 min, it died on them.
Hours. Probably like 2 hours
@@AnthonyRodriguezz wow. Thats a first I heard about that. Perhaps a video debunking the stigma might be worth doing.
@petero1068 I talked about it in my comparison video!
There are a good amount of videos on YT though debunking that myth though
There’s no doubt that having good autofocus is a helpful tool for filmmakers, but we’ve been spoiled with this technology. Filmmakers have been pulling focus for years without the need for this technology.
I agree!
The work and expectations from clients have changed as well! Solo operator jobs and running on a gimbal is more common than not nowadays
Hmm i was considering selling my s5ii and getting the fx30 because of the 4k60 crop. Now i dont know what to do lol
Well… everything is cropped with the fx30 😂
@@AnthonyRodriguezz Yeah, I just hate having to swap lens because of the crop.
Are your clients running around in the videos ? Why the auto focus is priority?
I am and sometimes the clients are, yes
Dude, when client pay you good amount of money. You should do manual focusing
Dude,
You do know AF is used all the time for certain shots that would otherwise be impossible with a smaller crew?
I understand what you’re saying and for most client work I shoot manually. When I’m running on a gimbal and I am solo, having reliable AF and specifically the control of touch tracking is so useful
As a long time GH4/5 user, who jumped in S5 as soon as it came out, I do not regret switching to ZV-E1 (and a few zve10s), because my clients do not care for rolling shutter or ibis, they want to be in focus :)
🙌🏼🙌🏼
Why don't you use manual focus on your client work as that's what professionals do
😂
Your comment about rolling shutter is interesting because everybody tells me the rolling shutter in this camera is absolute crap!? as far as auto focus goes, nothing can touch a Sony. The only weakness in Sony camera is the ibis is mediocre. I don’t know, I’m probably gonna stick with Sony, but I might rent this camera for the weekend and play around with it and see what I can do.
It is interesting! I can’t back it up with science nor do I care too much about the rolling shutter because in normal 4k it’s not too bad!
what a lad
😏
I agree with your autofocus opinion. Thanks for bugging lumix
I like having the option to shoot shallow, if desired
There for sure are situations where I would just lock it off though
I'm planning on getting this camera at the end of the year and the 1.5x crop at 4k60p is kind of unacceptable in 2024.

I hate that i trust Sony more. Im one of those who uses Sony for paid shoots because of the reliability. For personal use its Panasonic and Fuji. I like Panny and Fuji colors way more than Sony.
Why does it have to be better than? Why not different than and good enough?
Just a title, but yes… Sonys AF is still better, not just different
no one mentioned that you need to use fast shutter speeds, otherwise there will be artifacts .So 1/100 or 1/200 would be better result when using 1/50 . Just tested it out and this effect appears with 40+mm lens
