I don't know why I like your video's so much, I've never had cold brew and there's no trader Joe's anywhere near me, but I am enjoying myself here while learning interesting facts 🤔❤
Hello! You should try making your own cold brew. It's so simple: coarsely ground coffee and water, let it steep in the fridge for 12-24 hours, then filter out the grounds. You can adjust the coffee-water ratio as you like. Personally, I like a 1:4. It's so refreshing in the hot summer months!
I bought an instant cold brew from Trader Joe's last time I was there. I really liked it a lot! Reminded me of when I used to make my dad his instant coffee after his naps 😊. Thanks for sharing!
I’m a barista at a small specialty coffee shop in my area and tbh Trader Joe’s coffee normally is pretty good they usually have specialty blends and single origin selections that are normally really good.
I have been making cold brew concentrate using a Toddy for nearly 2 decades. To make the coffee hot, just add boiling water rather than cold water. It's slightly below the temperature of a regular cups of fresh brewed served immediately - which means it's the proper temp already to start drinking. (I then add cream and sugar, but that's because I'm a philistine.)
While I'm not finished with video, I'm very happy to be alive in an era where I see Morgan post another Trader Joe's video. I'm running on barely any sleep while eating trail mix, so this is perfect :)
I want to try their cold brew concentrate with my usual 1 Tbsp TJ's Brown Sugar Oatmilk Creamer and 'whole milk until it's decently light' recipe. Glad to hear it's not bad - I've been hesitant to try it.
I took some 'normal' coffee bags as emergency coffee while traveling recently. very glad i did as not all hotels had tea and coffee or even a kettle. so i improvised and made cold brew with the coffee bags and it wasnt bad.
I grabbed the Coconut Concentrate to have at work for an extra pick-me-up this past week and I actually really liked it lol. I'm usually pretty sensetive to artificial coconut flavor but I thought this was pretty mellow and it went well with a splash of their coconut milk creamer. Excited to try the other two concentrates.

That concentrate was our saving grace in 2020 when we had a newborn and we were locked down lol. I always had it in stock and we were insane and didn’t do 1:2 we were just drinking it like regular iced coffee with a splash of cream😂
when me and my husband visit my family in the US we tend to buy the cold brew concentrate at Trader Joe's a lot, my parent's aren't coffee drinkers, and it's useless for them to buy any equipment or anything to make coffee with, so when we visit them we buy some of the cold brew concentrate and make hot coffee with it, lol, I don't know it that is legal or not, lol, but we actually kinda like it. Next time we visit I think I want to try the cold brew bags, they weren't there when we visited in Nov 2022
Great line up of favorites. I always have the og cold brew concentrate at home. It my go to coffee as it doesn't irritate my stomach in the morning The coconut cold brew con has been around for a while. At least from pre covid but it goes out of stock frequently. I actually like the coconut flavor but with a salt caramel creamer. It's one of the least artificial tasting coconut coffees I've tasted.
It'd be very easy to make a hot drink out of the concentrate. 1 part of fridge temp (5°C) coffee + 2 parts boiling (100°C) water amounts to about 68°C, that should be hot enough. Especially if you preheat the cup.

when we fly somewhere for any extended long vacation in the US, our first stop is trader joe, pick up some drinks and snacks for the road, buy some toothpaste etc. Makes flying light a lot easier, this would be helpful, to pickup some coffee as well. Usually we try some local coffee shops, but some national park gateway towns are pretty bad for good food and drinks tbh. That big concentrate bottle would be perfect for us. Now what can we mix it with? hahaha Sparking and tonic water from trader joe?
I love your analytical mind going. I really quite like the first concentrate (have had the French brew one as well). I really don't bother with make anymore. I actually make a little weaker, cause sleep.Always mix with milk for me. I used to make myself and it's not worth it. Don't think I'll be drinking the coconut one. I have made it hot, in a pinch (cold day and made it hot). I haven't done it but you would be able to make some interesting desserts with it. For instance, pour over ice cream or take the concentrate and put a scoop of ice cream in it. Sort of an affogato type drink. If I slept better I might be trying this.
perfect timing!!! my fam and iare going to go to trader joe's tomorrow (we only go 3 or 4 times a year since it's far) and i was trying to figure out which coffee product to buy there
I loved the cold brew coffee bags also. I guess it would be interesting if you shared the water source for your brewing of the bags. I assume filtered tap water, but the nice thing is a specific water profile may make for even better flavor expression. If only there was a water mineral drop company to do a dedicated video with those TJ bags👀🤓
I’ve tried a couple of the cold brew products available at Loblaws here in Canada. Stok is ok. On the rare occasions that I have it, I like it mixed 50/50 with chocolate milk as a sort of cold brew mocha. Their President’s Choice line has a few items, and I quite like the canned nitro. It comes out (visually, at least) creamier than the TJ nitro, with a very Guinness-like cascade and head. Very smooth and quite Guinness like in texture AND flavour.
If you want a good cold brew mocha feel, the Califa Farms mocha cold brew has the best creamy chocolate-milk-esque texture to it while still having a good coffee flavor.
@@coreycannon4511 it's in all the chain grocery stores in the US from what I've seen (and Target and Walmart), but not sure about Canada. It's in the refrigerated section near the coffee creamers here
When the cold brew concentrate packaging said said it can be used hot, I assumed that meant mixing it with hot/boiling water? I actually don't drink coffee at all and just like this channel a lot, so I don't know if that would be a bad idea or not to be honest. Anyways, great video as always, loved it!
On an unrelated note to the cold brews…i LOVE that clock(?) in the back on the counter…it held my attention several times throughout the video. Where can I get one?
Awesome video! Any chance we can get an iced coffee recipe? I’ve been using an Aeropress to make my iced coffees, but I’d love a Japanese iced coffee recipe video.
I don't know if Monster Java counts, so I can't decide if you missed it on the list or not. However, if you've never had it, then DON'T try it. I love it. I love the Irish Creme, Kona Blend, Mean Bean, and Loca Moca (in that order). Therein lies the problem. I'm addicted to the stuff. I used to get 1 can of it once a week. Nowadays, I typically drink 2 a day. Sometimes more, if I can afford to by the 12 pack of them. I've tried really hard to make a cold brew that comes close to the Mean Bean, but have failed every time. Depending on where you get them, the cost per can ranges from $1.85 to almost $4. It may not sound like much for those who drink MoonDeer on a regular basis, but for me it's a lot of money at the end of the month that could be spent on something else.
Is it weird that I tend to mix cold brew at a lower ratio? I've even drunk the concentrate on its own... but I think it's because I was mixing it with ice which diluted it some.
Nice review for cold brew, but for some reason I got very distracted by your clock on the background and I had just had to wonder what is the name of that product? I want to get one for my mother.
I can't imagine any bottled or canned product could be better than making fresh cold brew with a decent coffee. Plus i have no trader Joe in my country 😂
I did nOt even see that GIANT pitcher of cold brew until she very impressively lifted it with one hand. i never knew such pitchers existed. could use that to scoop up the sun
I am a huge fan of the regular TJ's cold brew concentrate. It was out of stock recently, so I got the organic French roast concentrate. Did NOT like. Very sour to my palate. Can't wait to go back to the regular!
It is pretty light, even for a medium roast. The first time I made it, I followed the directions exactly and found it too light, even after letting it steep for nearly 24 hours. But, then I just made one sachet, with 3.5 cups of water, and that turned out really nice! It may seem like it shouldn't have made a difference, but it did. Maybe try that next time?
I think you have beautiful, elegant hands and had never really noticed that you keep your nails short other than to assume that you do it for work. Whatever the reason, it doesn't detract from the appearance of your hands at all!
The winning single-serve cold brew has saved my life on many occasions! Especially when I had a newborn 😂 😭 but they are also a permanent part of my migraine recovery kit!
Migraine recovery kit? You have my attention. I'm up in Canada and the smoke in the air is giving me waaay more migraines then I'm used to (usually I only have to deal with them every other month but with the smoke in the air it's been almost daily) and I'm always looking for more advice on how to deal with them outside of what I've stumbled my way into

Is that a basil plant or a COFFEE TREE on Morgan's counter?!?!? 😮😮😮 Cuz having a coffee plant at home is pretty dope!
when we fly somewhere for any extended long vacation in the US, our first stop is trader joe, pick up some drinks and snacks for the road, buy some toothpaste etc.
If I slept better I might be trying this.
perfect timing!!! my fam and iare going to go to trader joe's tomorrow (we only go 3 or 4 times a year since it's far) and i was trying to figure out which coffee product to buy there
I really want to see you try a coffee concentrate!! ("Javy" I think?)
Makes me happy to see part 2 of the trader joe's video:D I'm very excited to see what trader joe can do for you to come up with part 3^^
I LOVED that old trader Joe's coffee video and I'm pretty sure that's when I subscribed
On a hummus note, the Ithaca lemon dill is my fav hummus.
Love these videos thanks for helping me recommend products to customers!
i never been to a Trader Joe's and i don't drink coffee.
But i still love watching your videos
Morgan...did you have to wake up at 2am!?! I thought getting up at 4am to open my store was crazy, I bow down to you!
Great video as always but can you please make your clocks change time simultaneously thanks
Also, a wholesome idea: Somebody give Morgan a genuine compliment on her nails in every future video. 😊
@@mandabee8721 is it available in Canada? I’ve never seen it before - or even heard of them! Otherwise, it’s a long drive to California!!
I think ive only been to a Trade Joes once. But my old reliable cold brew is Stok purple.
On an unrelated note to the cold brews…i LOVE that clock(?) in the back on the counter…it held my attention several times throughout the video. Where can I get one?
I want to know, too!
From next month both the sun lotion and kids pool coffees will be sold in bottles with a very different artwork to try bringing sales back up
Awesome video! Any chance we can get an iced coffee recipe? I’ve been using an Aeropress to make my iced coffees, but I’d love a Japanese iced coffee recipe video.
clicking so fast on this video, sipping some coffee
start: slow, concentrated and deep talk. 13 minutes in: GOTTAGOFAST!!!! :D
this was delightful!!!! hahaha!!! you should do one for whole foods if you ever have the bravery to do so again
Hello I love the video I really love TJs so I will def pick these up next time I’m there. Can I ask where you got the water dispenser you have please?
I'd assume you could dilute the concentrate with hot water to get a hot cup, the same way you would with those space age cometeer frozen pods.
Every time you slide in with your, "Hello there!" I wanna say, "General Morgan...."
Good
With the robotic rasp and a few coughs for good measure. Bonus points if you have 4 lightsabers.
Awesome throwback to the video that made me find your channel! Love it.
Is it weird that I tend to mix cold brew at a lower ratio? I've even drunk the concentrate on its own... but I think it's because I was mixing it with ice which diluted it some.
2 bags for 7 cups, or if you want less you could just do 1 bag with 3,5 cups of water, right? :)
Morgan, I absolutely love the clock that is behind you in this video! Where did you get it?!😀
Nice review for cold brew, but for some reason I got very distracted by your clock on the background and I had just had to wonder what is the name of that product?
I want to get one for my mother.
The Morgan Side is what i needed today 😆
Woo. Love the electric bugaloo.
this was super helpful and honestly i agree with you
Nice overview. Guess I need to make a trip to TJ's for some cold brew.
Lovely video, this was very helpful and soothing.
Some of those had recalls recently. Surprised they were not pulled from the shelf.
Do all the Costco Whole bean coffees. There's only 5-7 so it should be fairly easy :)
I am a huge fan of the regular TJ's cold brew concentrate. It was out of stock recently, so I got the organic French roast concentrate. Did NOT like. Very sour to my palate. Can't wait to go back to the regular!
I have the same “I will sip a liquid I’m holding” problem.
I tried the cold brew sachet bags that steep overnight but found it to be very light… kind of tea like. Is it supposed to be like this?
It is pretty light, even for a medium roast. The first time I made it, I followed the directions exactly and found it too light, even after letting it steep for nearly 24 hours. But, then I just made one sachet, with 3.5 cups of water, and that turned out really nice! It may seem like it shouldn't have made a difference, but it did. Maybe try that next time?
And coconut cold brew lotion vibes is relatable. It shouldn’t be… and yet it is.
I think you have beautiful, elegant hands and had never really noticed that you keep your nails short other than to assume that you do it for work. Whatever the reason, it doesn't detract from the appearance of your hands at all!
Thank you but also I’m genuinely curious why there are so many comments relating to my hands today
@@morgandrinkscoffee Probably because you mentioned that pointing out your short nails was a way to get under your skin! 😆
That’s hilarious because I 100% forgot I said that during filming X)
Thanks for the video Morgan
The winning single-serve cold brew has saved my life on many occasions! Especially when I had a newborn 😂 😭 but they are also a permanent part of my migraine recovery kit!
Migraine recovery kit? You have my attention. I'm up in Canada and the smoke in the air is giving me waaay more migraines then I'm used to (usually I only have to deal with them every other month but with the smoke in the air it's been almost daily) and I'm always looking for more advice on how to deal with them outside of what I've stumbled my way into
Mexican Coca Cola is in mine, sugar and caffeine for better blood brain barrier crossing ability
As always, the video if wonderful ❤ but those clocks in the background beeing sooo unsynchronized 🙏😅
