2. On a lighter note THANK YOU to everyone who have stuck with Casual Champion Review for a full year already. it's not the most high effort series but I've enjoyed it all the way through and I'm glad so many of you enjoy it too, here's to many more :D

In your previous videos you mentioned how both Bard and Tahm Kench lack any bad skins, with them all being bangers and such, but now you say Jhin is the only one? Do you think it would be worth checking out every champion who might also have a flawless skin catalog?

Jhin really shows what the peak of a non traditional role should be. A distinct gameplay that doesn’t feel like it’s too overtuned or too uncomfortable, unlike K’sante. Can’t wait for the Lewis CCR in October

ksante is straight up overloaded, he can do too much stuff, numbers are less important therfore a nerf does basically nothing

What's amazing to me is how so much of Jhin's character is based off of specifically Western notions of opera/symphonic works, classical music (violin, obsession with four acts, etc.), and motifs in art, yet blends this near perfectly with more Eastern visual aesthetics so that he reads as very Ionian in nature - another win for Johnny!
Don't forget that number 4 is famously associated with death in China, as both words sound alike in Chinese. But since 4/4 is literally Common Time in western music... it's so perf
Something that I love about his lore story when he’s preparing for the confrontation with Akali, Shen, and Zed, is that it reveals how impractical his entire suit is, and how that impracticality is what feels right to him, he does it on purpose because it’s apart of his vision, and what I love about this is that it’s conveyed in his visual design. Like the giant thing on his shoulder is the battery that powers his ultimate, which makes sense until you realize “wait why does he put all of that weight on his shoulder and not his back or something?” It’s because he likes it that way. Why does Jhin primarily use a pistol and quickdraw a rifle instead of the other way around, because that’s how he prefers it. Why does Jhin where a black suit that’s hard to breathe in? Because that’s how he wants to show off his aesthetic. It’s just really cool.
I honestly like the concept art of Jhin without his mask, because I think his face is honestly perfect for him. He's not particularly ugly or deformed, yet also not attractive enough to stand out. He looks like just a generic asian (or, well, Ionian) dude in his late 30s/early 40s, not anyone who would stand out, and I think that really suits him.
Like a twisted version of the Spiderman idea of "anybody can be beneath the mask"
Someone pointed out that if you type Jhin on a QWERTY keyboard you draw the number 4.
Also, I think it's fun that when Jhin was released Riot forgot that pink wards had 5 hp, so Jhin had to awkwardly wait to reload and it was super annoying. So they had to change control wards to have 4 hp instead.
This has never officialy been made canon, but I believe Jhin's writers imagined Jhin's face to look utterly and completly...average. Just the most bland, typical background NPC guy imaginable. And I think that's the best possible direction for Jhin, even better than to keep it a mystery the whole time. It fits his character perfectly and imo even adds to it. Because realistically, if we are ever getting Jhin in some big long form story content, we're gonna have to see him unmasked because he does regularly unmask and act as a regular guy.
i like how jhin makes the number 4 haunting , for example , zed and the other fellows only managed to capture after FOUR years of research ... which makes you wonder if he simply let them capture him

That's almost as annoying as having your team ping an engage to the Tank, getting them to dive in...then running away so the Tank is alone in the pit while their team leaves.
Seeing Jhin getting a 10/10 on every category and the final score put a smile on my face. Seeing 5 just after that has put an even bigger smile on my face.

You have no idea how much I love Jhin. He is one of the few reasons I even bother to play league to this day. 4 (ha) champions keep me from uninstalling the game, and Jhin is one of them. I've also developed an obsession for the number four, and find it mandatory to yell "FOUR" every 4th shot, or stop at quadrakill. I actually don't mind Jhin's unofficial face reveal in his concept art, since he's described to be completely average and normal looking that he can blend in on the background. His face in the concept doesn't stand out much, he's not ugly or handsome, just generic, and I love it. Jhin has to be one of those villain characters that I root for, not because he's morally right or doing any good, but because I want to see what he does next. He's just that entertaining and satisfying. I can ramble about Jhin being pure perfection all day.
I've been waiting for this episode for a long time now and I'm so glad it's out
Jhin was my favorite champion of all time.
I may not play League anymore, but Jhin still the peak of character design in the game for me because he feels like a respectable champion to play as and against unlike some 200 years champion that can do a load of BS while barely breaking a sweat while also filling your taxes, running for presidency and do your neighbor's wife during a team fight.
Thank you Nicky for all the effort you put into your vids and especially this one considering the whole cass video age restriction issue you have had to deal with today. It must have been rough with that hanging over you and yet you still pump out a video for the platform that shanked your hard efforts.

People like serial killers because they like mysteries. It's why unsolved mysteries and crime shows are so popular. Humans have the morbid curiosity and they also have the inability to consider that it could happen to themselves.

I was so fucking excited for when you'd do jhin! He's my favorite champ and my 1 trick and I absolutely love this guy. His gameplay, voice actor, lore, everything is perfect
7:18 The asymmetric nature of his shoulder guard gets even more "unnatural" when you factor in the fact that he is left handed. You expect the guard to be on the off-hand side, which it if in Jhin's case, but it is not the off-hand side for most people.
Maybe an impopular opinion but I like that concept art of him where he is bald, showing he has a normal face instead of another sexy kayn anime face ™️

When Jhin showed up in the last TFT animation, I WAS SO HYPED. Maestro is such a perfect role for him and he's so unique, even in TFT. I Love Jhin, one of the few champions who I feel looks awesome even with base skin.

I think a big part of why Jhins skins slap so hard is that his design just lends itself well to so many themes. At the end of the day he's just a guy with a gun but he has plenty of things going on that can be used for unique ideas. The camel hump, the mask, the weird shape of his gun. They all can be adapted into all matter of themes and Empyrean is the one that really doesn't do that (even though I like Empyrean because Pyke bias) so it falls flat. It uses the design language of the skinline well but it's just not a good fit for Jhin.

I choose to believe that jhin's premium 200 skin was supposed to be 444 dollars but riot thought that was too high so they reduced it to 200
When the champion himself says it it means it's legit
Jhin is so viciously evil, twisted and theatrical, its the perfect combo for a villain! I remember when he was being teased by "killing" vi, sona, garen and zed. Whether that's still canon or not its up to debate but man what a way to tease a new champion. I think they never did this type of teasing again, outside of bel veth.
Our fascination with serial killers comes not from admiration (at least, not usually). It comes for our desire to understand them. Their minds work so much differently from a typical person's, and so we want to figure out what makes them tick.

I think another thing that truly is special about Jhin is that even people who don't play league anymore, but got to play Jhin still remember him so well. I haven't played since season 3, maybe 4? (Heh)
But if I'm playing ANY game and 4 is something of importance in game play, I ALWAYS say it like Jhin shooting his 4th shot! Like monster hunter: world hammer game play. Big bang 1, 2 ,3, FOUR!!!!

@poonpoon1604 I went back and played a couple rounds with friends who still PLAYED played the game. So I do have maybe 12 games since then. And I think all but 2 of those games, I played Jhin. After watching AnkleSpankin play him, I had to try him myself!

i really feel like these kinds of videos would benefit from having subtitles, im enjoying watching you play the game, but it also makes it a little hard to listen to the story. maybe its just a problem i have, but i dont know! just felt like sharing.
Shen is my fav champ since season 2 Jhin is my fav adc
Still think there is room for an alternat time line where Shen kills Zed not being able to stay on the path of lawful neutral and his mind to a degree breaks after loosing his father and Zeds (in Shen's opinion) deceit and we can get that gigga chad bad ass "Outcast Shen/oath breaker skin" that we should for sure get but more than likely never will.
So many other champs in wow have received skins that either make a "bad" champion a good guy and or a good guy a bad guy feels bad that skin is soooooooooo good and it will more than likely never see the light of day.

The peak of champions, every lore add on that surrounds him are also all amazing, the maker, Hwei, he should be the gold standard of Riot but they keep launching shit up after him
As a lore nerd I have to say Jhin's lore is also perfect. The entire thing here he's being followed by Kinkou and Zed and despite their powers and Jhin basically not having any spirit or shadow magic outsmarting them at every turn.
Just, before i watch the video, i am taking it upon myself to scream "Four!" every time Nicky fires a fourth shot. i will come back and tell you how many times that was because i'm stupid
Edit: i yelled "Four!" exactly 35 times, which makes me extremely disappointed Nicky didnt hit 9 more fourth shots on camera.
Also fun fact, he never hit an ultimate fourth shot on screen
