- This week we have a wonderful coastal pitch with a sea view at White House Beach Caravan & Motorhome Club site in Kessingland, Suffolk.
We paid £32.50 a nite for a hardstanding pitch on the beach front and it's only a couple of minutes walk to the local pub, restaurant and fish & chip shop.
A lovely spot to explore the local area from.

You can’t beat a pitch with a sea view, just wonderful. You could give Delia Smith a run for her money cooking on a ridge monkey. Disappointing you couldn’t get another night but not long until your next trip. Safe travels & Best wishes H&M .😊xx
Hello H&M, I’d forgotten that we had chucked the old pans and only had the ridge monkey. Tasty if I say so myself 😊 We managed a whole 3 days at home before getting away again 😂 Take care, Helen & Dave 👍

Hi both, well blimey that took me back in time. I was the village Bobby ( Heartbeat) at Kessingland in the late seventies. The old Police House still exists but as a private dwelling. I’ve not been back there for over 40 years so your VLOG has made me consider a trip in the Caravan next year 😂. Safe adventures and all the best to you both.
Well, well, well, what have we got here then? An old nostalgic copper? They sound like the good old days. Never saw sight nor sound of a Bobby and we would love to see more of the old village Bobby’s. You should give it a go, people say it’s not changed in donkey’s. Great location, some lovely areas down Norfolk Suffolk way, thinking of a camping trip next year down that way, can you recommend some sites, would love quiet sites with large private grass pitches EHU and if they have hedges between pitches the better, got a huge 6x4 tent
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks Rob, it’s deffo a lovely part of the world. Too many great sites for you to consider but for Norfolk we think you would like Clippesby Hall, near Great Yarmouth or Kelling Heath, great sites for camping. In Suffolk we think Cliff House at Dunwich but worth having a google search because there is so much choice! Thanks again, Helen & Dave

Have you ever stayed at Jaydene or at The Hollies, both on the A12 in Kessingland? I lived in Pakefield for 20 years so I know the area well. You brought back lots of memories. My daughter had a weekend job as a waitress at The Waterfront and I walked my golden retriever, Sadie, many a time along Kessingland beach when I picked her up from work. Shame about the frosty reception! We lived near Pakefield Cliffs and we could hear the waves on the beach at night, also, the foghorn some nights. Strangely soothing. I certainly miss living next to the sea.
Hi Carole, our eldest son lives at Pakefield also right by the beach and we lived by the beach in Caister On Sea and in the 79’s those fog horns would blast out regularly and get what you mean about the soothing sound. We haven’t stayed at Jaydene but passed it lots, it looks nice. Don’t know The Hollies, will investigate further. Take care, Helen & Dave 👍
Hi Helen and Dave a great video as ever and what a lovely area I remember driving past kessingland when we went to Southwold we are hopefully coming down next year so definitely going to pay a visit the beach looks amazing such lovely sand and everywhere looks so clean the site as well looks lovely and spotlessly clean!

Although it's a great site and handy for Lowestoft and Yarmouth, the entrance and village are so tight it's crazy to get into. On our departure, (around 11:30 ish) we were met by lined-up caravans waiting to get onto the site, Little did they know that the site didn't open for arrivals till 1 pm, so a lot of frustrated drivers and queues making it an ordeal for us to get out . That kinda spoiled our visit there and we haven't been back since. You can walk along the beach to Lowestoft but when we visited (just post-Covid) it was hot and the pebbles were making it a slog, instead of a nice leisurely stroll. From our pitch we could hear the music from the pub, and it didn't stop till 10 pm, too late for some younger kids on site.
Although you paint a very different picture on your vlog, ours was not a successful staycation overall. On quieter days I could imagine it would be a totally different experience, Ours wasn't, as it was very busy and the village was bustling with visitors.
Hello, thanks for watching and sharing your experience, we can imagine your scenario and the roads are narrow just before you arrive, we had to negotiate a parked van on double yellows. However, we’ve been a couple of times and on both occasions found it all ok. We do tend to avoid weekends and school holidays though. Take care, Helen & Dave
Hi helen & dave, was kessingland owned by haven or hoseasons at some point?we stayed there once in a lodge, the beach was just over the hill, my kids were only little it was back in the 90,s. Glad to see your looking after helen,your a good un. Take care see you in the next one.
Hi Julie, about a hundred yards further on from where we were pitched is Kessingland Beach Holiday Park. Former Haven, the Park Resorts and now Parkdean Resorts, so I reckon that's where you were. We had 3 nights here on the beachside in our campervan in March. It was lovely and quiet. The sun shone and we sat outside the van. Our dog loves the beach. There is a bus service that goes to Lowestoft and Southwold. Also to Norwich - we went as far as Beecles. Nowhere tempting to eat nearby so we took some lovely food instead

Have you been over the new Lowestoft bridge yet? It should be a lot quicker than the using the other two.
Hi Les, not made it over yet but the old bridge is about to close for repairs apparently. Looks pretty cool though and our son lives in Pakefield so will be giving it a go very soon. ATB, Helen & Dave
It would be very useful if you could include the price per night on the sites you visit.
We do! It comes on screen at 6m 58s. Of course it really doesn’t make much difference because it depends upon time of year, type of pitch and how many people!!

Watching inside the factory were talking about cromer crabs due to the seabed in the norfolk area it makes them more delicious something for you to try next time your round that way

Ok thanks watch that on iplayer if you get a chance was really interesting the crabs are not daft when it comes to avoiding getting caught was in teignmouth a few years ago kids were putting them in a bucket bouncing them up and down then throwing them away off the sea wall was so distressing to watch kids being so cruel to defenceless young crabs

Great pitch Dave & Helen, shame you couldn’t get the extra night. Wonderful you were able to hear the sea through the night 👍. Guess you never got round to fitting an Omnivent to extract those cooking smells. We’ve also got a mini plug in air purifier which works a treat when we cook our salmon. Now the bad news, we have visited this site and unfortunately for us it didn't float our boat, but it doesn't mean its bad just not for us.

We love Oulton Broad and the surrounding area and have been visiting for over 20 years now. Weather always seems so much warmer and sunny down there.
