  • As the Centenary Bridge Duplication project continues, the Centenary Cycleway takes shape in its new alignment. This week a section of the new bikeway opened between Sinnamon Road and what will be the new Kooringal Drive bridge.
Come with me for a virtual ride along various routes through this new section of the bikeway.
0:00 Centenary Bikeway - Inbound (North)
1:45 Centenary Bikeway - Outbound (South)
2:56 Sinnamon Road to Centenary Bikeway - North
3:23 Sinnamon Road to Centenary Bikeway - South
4:06 Centenary Bikeway to Sinnamon Road - West

Is this part of the Bicentennial Cycleway or Brisbane River Loop?

Not directly, though it's a critical route from the western suburbs to connect to both. The Centenary/Western Freeway cycleway starts at the end of Sylvan Road - the other end of which adjoins the Bicentennial Bikeway at the Regatta Hotel.
The River Loop is most directly accessed from the Centenary Cycleway via the Indooroopilly Riverwalk, though the connection between the Riverwalk and Centenary cycleway is abysmal at the moment. Council is 3 years into planning for it...

@@davidcarr2649 This section isn't part of the River Loop (instead a way to get to the River Loop like Chris said). River Loop is fine

Cars need to wait for cyclists

Drivers are meant to wait for cyclists at turns, but they don't.
