If that kid is buying Dart Zone/Adventure Force stuff over Nerf THEN Nerf is dead or at least be forced to lean to what you want, (Modular bodies, Short Darts, Metal tubes, additional mags and darts in package)
@@Bigbodygeneral that's all fair and well for the "flagship" or tie-in blasters, but the average primary can be more in the $20-40 range (Stryfe, Alpha Trooper or Rapidstrike type blasters) and many kids only get the sidearms as the cheapest and often some of the most "cool" blasters to use. If you compare this to the springer Nerf blasters, it is pricey, more at Nerf's full size flywheel price range. It's worth the price, sure, but maybe not for kids and parents.

Magazine release in a covered ring in front of trigger guard (Can hit mag release with trigger finger extended if your finger is long enough). Top rail for optics. Bottom rail for foregrip or lights, Side rails for lights or secondary optics/sights. Back mount for a forearm brace or stock. Barrel attachment lug on the end of the barrel. Accessories that come in the box: Barrel Attachment (Suppressor style), Two Sights (Holo, ACOG, can both be mounted on top in a row and the holo's panels can fold down and the ACOG has hinges to fold to one side), and an angled "Steel-Sight" to mount on a side rail. Also, a forearm brace for one-handed shooting, a folding foregrip, two half-dart magazines, and enough half-darts to fill both magazines with one magazine worth of extras. Pure fantasy like I said, but having a proper pistol/PDW that feeds half-dart mags through the pistol grip has always been a fantasy of mine since I first heard of half-darts.

I thought if the Nerf brand failed it could be gone, but I just realized maybe adventure force could take over and license their products as nerf products. This would be weird, but not as weird as not seeing the nerf logo :(

@@evilparadigm Black Series was a cool idea at least. They looked nice even if they were kind of stiff and awkward to pose in some cases. Can trash the prequels for plenty of things, but they understood how to create marketable action scenes. The sequels just don't have any droid vs clone army or pod racers etc equivalent to excite people with. Most stuff is done with tie fighters, x wings, star destroyers etc that already existed with small modifications

with the reactions from other companies we all know nerf is going to do absolutely nothing or they are going to make a half but BUT they are going to make them the worst possible half dart ever also expensive as hell
So, I am new to the hobby, but I have subscribed since buying this rifle which has utterly changed my perspective on nerf as a whole. The only nerf I had access to growing up were my friend's toys, as my parents didn't approve of toy guns. To be honest, I never even had any kind of reference at that point as to what the blasters my friends had could do, as they only ever got the darts they came with and after that, they were just gun shaped hunks of plastic. Fast forward 15 or so years and I develop a passion for airsoft, however never into modding my weapons. Though some of my guns weren't weak by any stretch of the imagination. Finally, about 25 years later, I have a niece and nephew, and the man-child in me began looking at toys even more enthusiastically. For about a year I saw the most realistic profile I had seen on a blaster in some time. My only real experience with nerf being the aforementioned ammo less props for stories my friends and I would use for games and two fortnite blasters (AR-L, SP-L). The Nexus looked cool, and I had to have it. I thought I would be able to play with my sister's progeny... I was sadly mistaken. Instead I got the coolest nerf gun I could have ever hoped for and now want to explore this hobby, and this was the first channel (and video) to expose me to the possibilities. Thanks, Walcom, I love your channel and look forward to whatever happens to this hobby moving forward.
I bought one as soon as it came on to shelf's at my local Walmart last weekend and am absolutely in love. Even worked smoothly with a nerf 25 round drum and AF waffles. Also, apparently to change out the spring all you need to do is take out one screw on the cap at the back of the buffer tube and it fits ceda springs
While I've never used Stefans before, this is a great opportunity to transition into that space while still allowing me to use my existing gear. Win-win all around.
Just got it today, Locks are out, details are 'painted' with a Sharpie, and testing is going super well. EAT, you served me well, but there's no going back. The Nexus is here to stay. (She's already earned the name of "Dart Yeeter" for being able to clear my property without even trying.)
Now what Dart Zone needs to do is make a short dart micro flywheel pistol like the Pigeon and a high cap blaster! Maybe even an auto prime system that works like the Stampede?
I’d love for them to make a mag in grip pistol, either flywheeler or springer, though making it a springer would need some interesting engineering. Also, this thing is really easy to mod since the end cap on the buffer tube can be quickly unscrewed for spring changes
The minute i see one i'm picking it up, but if Dart Zone made something like this, shooting short and full length darts, buffer tube stock, but with a shorter, compact profile, make it flywheel powered, selector switch for semi and full auto, thing'll fly off the shelves like hotcakes, sweet christ i want that so bad
hmm, so as a non-competetive, non-modder, I can finally try out these new fangled half darts without spending much money? nice. (except they seem already sold out) honestly it almost seems like Ultra was Nerf's hamfisted attempt at like imitating half darts, like it has the same goal of shooting farther and straighter, it just fails miserably to do so.
Honestly the ultra darts just look like a way to stop people from copying their design with the complicated fin structure and change in size. It’s probably gonna wolf coz no ones gonna make 3rd party ultra darts since they’re kinda garbage. Kek
i got mine a few days ago, and i can now also say that this is THE best store bought "nerf" gun you can buy. it's just SO good, there is no exaggeration in this video. it will literally bend full length darts if you shoot a wall with it at close range, and it is extremely accurate
I wish I could Love ❤️ this video instead of just giving it a thumbs up... I got mine on Thursday. Just firing this in front of my apartment and hitting 90ft+ flat was freaking amazing... I also used the short darts in my modded KO (inspired by you) with a K25... and I hit the wall of the other building 120ft away. So these short darts that came with the Nexus and we CAN BUY AT WALMART separately are every bit as awesome as the blaster itself.
i think i know what i'll be spending half of my 100 dollar bill on. . . what amazes me is that these things are STILL on walmart shelves 3 and a half years later. they really want as many people as possible to get these things, they are dart zone's signature blaster
Remember what I said on the Warden video about Hasbro's BS with making Elite 2.0 nigh impossible to mod basically being a middle finger to the hobby community? This is what it means to _embrace_ the fact that your product has a market outside the "intended" target demographic. Yeah, this is a bit much for kids, but it's ideal for someone getting into the hobby scene; not as easy to mod as the DZP with the takedown function, but no harder than modding any other split-shell springer. It has the versatility to use every standard and half-dart dart magazine currently on the market _and it hits war-worthy range and FPS out of the box_. It is, effectively, a beginner-friendly and WALLET-friendly option for anyone who wants into the "big kids" side of Nerfing and wants a super accurate pump action rifle-style blaster, without dropping the money for something like a caliburn.
Yes Dart Zone You Are Killing it, anybody can go and get a blaster from Walmart that hits 90fps with a 40 dart capacity for $20 (villainator) or a blaster that hits 150fps accepts long and short darts, and costs $50... One of my best friend's Dan got me back into nerf recently and we're forming a squad and this weekend we're heading to a war and so my mate lent me some money cost me about 200 AUD with express shipping. But man was it worth it, the the thing even comes with a free spring compression kit and that changes the game my dude. I’ve been just lurking the hobby for the last 4 years due to me kinda growing out of it, plus the potential for mods kinda reached its peak in the early 2010s. But after seeing this, at an age where I make my own money year round, i might go all in again.
haven't been on youtube for awhile (nothing personal) but I was in walmart a few days ago and I saw packs of half darts, and then saw this, and it blew my mind, I preceded to get two of them along with a couple packs of darts.
Fun fact. With this gun primed the dart just sits in the barrel meaning there’s a way to load an entire mag of half darts and pull the trigger to give one massive shotgun blast pretty much
Got to say, as someone for who modding Blasters is as much a part of the hobby as actually using the things, this (and its successors over the next couple of years), is going to change the way I look at my hooby. After all, why bother brass breaching a retaliator... when you can just buy better performance?
I have had this blaster for a year now and I still it! A Wunderwaffe in its own right even though I have a caliburn, even though I have a half dart rampage with a 9kg spring or even my "retaliconda" (Recon with retal internals and an alpha rt kit). I love this hobby.
Am an air softer. Been years since I touched a dart blaster. Got a nexus pro to see the hoopla. Gotta say. Never had a dart blaster sting like that before.
My prediction for the future here, to use console wars as an example, this won't be XBox vs. Playstation, this will be XBox vs. Nintendo. Dart Zone will focus on the pro line and performance going forward (assuming we can trust them not to stealth nerf their stuff like they did with their "Performance FPS" blasters, I'm still mad over that and they've never been sufficiently called out for it), while Hasbro focuses on their blasters as toys. I'm guessing you'll get cute gimmicks and neater shells out of Hasbro. Dart Zone blasters will be more efficient and semi-military looking without crossing any safety lines. Given Hasbro's latest offerings, jury's out on who'll have the better quality plastic. Just my guess! Awesome video as always, Walcom!

Kind of hard, darts squish under spring pressure, so it would be hard to make it feed reliably without shells of some description.
Buzzbee already did it (or something similar) with full lengths in the Rail Blaster. Would it really be that much harder to do it with half darts?

@@stevenbobbybills But none of Nerf's competitors has a single shot pistol like the Jolt. The cheapest thing I've seen from BuzzBee is the Springfire, which at $4 gives you four shots.
I thought if the Nerf brand failed it could be gone, but I just realized maybe adventure force could take over and license their products as nerf products. This would be weird, but not as weird as not seeing the nerf logo :(

Can trash the prequels for plenty of things, but they understood how to create marketable action scenes. The sequels just don't have any droid vs clone army or pod racers etc equivalent to excite people with. Most stuff is done with tie fighters, x wings, star destroyers etc that already existed with small modifications

So, I am new to the hobby, but I have subscribed since buying this rifle which has utterly changed my perspective on nerf as a whole. The only nerf I had access to growing up were my friend's toys, as my parents didn't approve of toy guns. To be honest, I never even had any kind of reference at that point as to what the blasters my friends had could do, as they only ever got the darts they came with and after that, they were just gun shaped hunks of plastic. Fast forward 15 or so years and I develop a passion for airsoft, however never into modding my weapons. Though some of my guns weren't weak by any stretch of the imagination. Finally, about 25 years later, I have a niece and nephew, and the man-child in me began looking at toys even more enthusiastically. For about a year I saw the most realistic profile I had seen on a blaster in some time. My only real experience with nerf being the aforementioned ammo less props for stories my friends and I would use for games and two fortnite blasters (AR-L, SP-L). The Nexus looked cool, and I had to have it. I thought I would be able to play with my sister's progeny... I was sadly mistaken. Instead I got the coolest nerf gun I could have ever hoped for and now want to explore this hobby, and this was the first channel (and video) to expose me to the possibilities. Thanks, Walcom, I love your channel and look forward to whatever happens to this hobby moving forward.

I bought one as soon as it came on to shelf's at my local Walmart last weekend and am absolutely in love. Even worked smoothly with a nerf 25 round drum and AF waffles. Also, apparently to change out the spring all you need to do is take out one screw on the cap at the back of the buffer tube and it fits ceda springs

I’d love for them to make a mag in grip pistol, either flywheeler or springer, though making it a springer would need some interesting engineering.
Also, this thing is really easy to mod since the end cap on the buffer tube can be quickly unscrewed for spring changes

honestly it almost seems like Ultra was Nerf's hamfisted attempt at like imitating half darts, like it has the same goal of shooting farther and straighter, it just fails miserably to do so.
Honestly the ultra darts just look like a way to stop people from copying their design with the complicated fin structure and change in size. It’s probably gonna wolf coz no ones gonna make 3rd party ultra darts since they’re kinda garbage. Kek
i got mine a few days ago, and i can now also say that this is THE best store bought "nerf" gun you can buy. it's just SO good, there is no exaggeration in this video. it will literally bend full length darts if you shoot a wall with it at close range, and it is extremely accurate

I wish I could Love ❤️ this video instead of just giving it a thumbs up... I got mine on Thursday. Just firing this in front of my apartment and hitting 90ft+ flat was freaking amazing... I also used the short darts in my modded KO (inspired by you) with a K25... and I hit the wall of the other building 120ft away. So these short darts that came with the Nexus and we CAN BUY AT WALMART separately are every bit as awesome as the blaster itself.

This is what it means to _embrace_ the fact that your product has a market outside the "intended" target demographic.
Yeah, this is a bit much for kids, but it's ideal for someone getting into the hobby scene; not as easy to mod as the DZP with the takedown function, but no harder than modding any other split-shell springer. It has the versatility to use every standard and half-dart dart magazine currently on the market _and it hits war-worthy range and FPS out of the box_.
It is, effectively, a beginner-friendly and WALLET-friendly option for anyone who wants into the "big kids" side of Nerfing and wants a super accurate pump action rifle-style blaster, without dropping the money for something like a caliburn.
Nerf is either going to change or go bankrupt.
This may be the only good thing about 2020 so far.

But man was it worth it, the the thing even comes with a free spring compression kit and that changes the game my dude. haven't been on youtube for awhile (nothing personal) but I was in walmart a few days ago and I saw packs of half darts, and then saw this, and it blew my mind, I preceded to get two of them along with a couple packs of darts.
I can literally change my ammo to fit FPS caps, with there being darts hitting from 90 FPS to 150 FPS.
Fun fact. With this gun primed the dart just sits in the barrel meaning there’s a way to load an entire mag of half darts and pull the trigger to give one massive shotgun blast pretty much

Got to say, as someone for who modding Blasters is as much a part of the hobby as actually using the things, this (and its successors over the next couple of years), is going to change the way I look at my hooby. After all, why bother brass breaching a retaliator... when you can just buy better performance?
Ok now I have to buy this and put streamlines in it to quench my curiosity.
I think it might have been a good idea for them to include the recommended safety glasses. I want this line to last as long as possible.
I have had this blaster for a year now and I still it! A Wunderwaffe in its own right even though I have a caliburn, even though I have a half dart rampage with a 9kg spring or even my "retaliconda" (Recon with retal internals and an alpha rt kit). I love this hobby.
Am an air softer. Been years since I touched a dart blaster. Got a nexus pro to see the hoopla. Gotta say. Never had a dart blaster sting like that before.

I haven't purchased a Nerf/foam dart gun in about 10 years but I went to Walmart earlier today to pickup a Nexus Pro and it's so damn awesome.
My prediction for the future here, to use console wars as an example, this won't be XBox vs. Playstation, this will be XBox vs. Nintendo. Dart Zone will focus on the pro line and performance going forward (assuming we can trust them not to stealth nerf their stuff like they did with their "Performance FPS" blasters, I'm still mad over that and they've never been sufficiently called out for it), while Hasbro focuses on their blasters as toys.
I'm guessing you'll get cute gimmicks and neater shells out of Hasbro. Dart Zone blasters will be more efficient and semi-military looking without crossing any safety lines.
Given Hasbro's latest offerings, jury's out on who'll have the better quality plastic.
