- Thanks to Prime Time Toys for sending me this blaster for review! No strings attached, just wanted my opinion. The Adventure Force Sportsman is an odd beast, sporting the signature hopper from the Destructor and Command Fire but as a pump-action springer, a match that should be made in heaven! With adequate capacity of 20 darts, good accuracy, and decent power; it's nearly a perfect blaster... if it wasn't the occasional jam. There may be some tinkering with technology and technique that could rectify that, but regardless I feel like the Sportsman is definitely a gimmick that will sell and fits flawlessly into the Secondary/Sidearm category.

Why hasn't Dart Zone hopped on the tag line thing? Hasbro has 'It's Nerf or Nothing.' but now Dart Zone can really say 'Nothing is better.'

Nothing is better is actually perfect. Technically to Nerf, Dart Zone is nothing, but now, Dart zone is better than nerf. Also, this implies that Dart Zone is the best, as nothing is better. Great idea

Dominic del Mundo technically dart zone isn’t necessarily “better” than nerf, they just have chosen to make high fps blasters. Nerf chooses to keep their performance low to avoid angry Karens when their child get’s hurt. Which, technically, is the user’s fault.
Well, most hobbyists are leaning towards Dart zone now as they are releasing good quality unique blasters
The title calls it a ‘nerf’ blaster but this blaster is too good for it to be tainted by the name “nerf”
Unfortunately it'll take decades for NERF to not be a part of our hobby. Like Swiffer and Xerox.

Vinh Tran I agree with you. But since Nerf has been established for 50 years, someday they will improve for their reputation. Plz give them time. New rival Saturn and motostrke are very impressive. Even I don’t mod but they perform admirely. I don’t care the FPS

This is the only situation we’re I can be called a sportsman.
Give Dart Zone a few years they'll figure out how to make a slamfire version.
Slamfire is great for stock blasters. In modded ones, it's useless; so it's kind of a hit-or-miss feature.

@@on1yadam Pretty much what I was thinking. Chances are they already have something ready to go. More than likely they have or will mash the Sportsman and Villainator together. All the perfection of the Villain with the hopper of the Sportsman.
Seeing as the villainator stock is dubbed the “sport stock”, it’s a shame it’s not compatible.
Give the mod community a couple days, they'll have something in due time.
The ratto is a good boy, and the blaster is pretty impressive, but I was over here looking for clean angles of that Gunsmith Cats shirt to make sure my eyes didn't deceive me.

I just wanna day this because I just accidentally lost my place in the video and saved it with your time stamps, the fact those have become standard on your videos is fucking amazing and deeply appreciated.
It's my way of combating the long-form videos. TH-cam actively pushes you to product longer content, which is fair enough; but I myself personally like longer videos and I strive to make sure I answer most if not every question in such things with a balance amount of content for those who lack only firing footage or loadout discussion and what have you instead of splitting it up into multiple videos. This, hopefully, pleases everybody while generating the Watch Time to make TH-cam happy.

@@Franky_Sthein unfortunately rats very easily get sick which is why I hesitate getting rodent type pets, I've owned guiniea pigs, mostly, but I've also owned a sugar glider a hedgehog but almost all of them died from getting sick, all of the dogs and cats I've owned either died of old age or, unfortunately had an accident

With that side loader and the modibility, this thing is the new quick 16 and speed load 6
Those used magazines, which can be a lot more reliable... but it's definitely a step in the right direction. Not often do we get a springer without a mag or cylinder that holds multiple shots.
I think dart hoppers will always be a little fiddly, given that even with round omnidirectional ammo they're not perfect. I wonder if you'd have a more consistent time loading smaller numbers of darts through the top-off door? I definitely agree that it's a scavenger's dream blaster.

(A little bit bummed that it's a little finicky, but maybe it's something modding can easily fix. Might still gonna get it though)
I could see this with a magnetic holdster-like setup on the lower back, Mass Effect style.
Keep the top-up window open, and as long as you keep feeding it in the right direction, you can whip it out to fire as a backup at a moments notice.
Would definitely want to repaint this though...

I have an idea for a nerf blaster; it can be a springer, but a big one, with a really long prime. The prime has 5 stages which allows you to prime it and them fire 5 darts in a row before priming again. Don’t know if this would work but it’s a cool idea!
That does sound amazing. If someone engineers it, I'm willing to experiment on it live and throw a K26 or similar spring.

Mine just arrived today, ordered after seeing this review, and I didn't wait to watch the whole review, I knew I wanted one.
My only real complaint is the lack of a stock attachment point, and mine makes a hideous spring noise when firing. Yours didn't seem to do that, but I should be able to muffle it with a little felt dampener inside and not affect the power.
I'd have liked more fps but it's good enough, and the 80ft range claim on the box warned us it was going to be towards the lower end of the scale.
Adventure Force (or really Prime Time Toys) have really knocked it out of the park this year with their blasters, the Villainator, and the Nexus Pro and Aeon Pro, to name a few. They had the first spring-powered hopper-fed "Rival" blaster, and now the first spring-powered hopper-fed long dart blaster. Nerf have yet to produce either style.
I'd like to see a follow-up to this with a stock attachment point, it just gives that extra bit of stability, or how about a hopper-fed Nexus?

That’s a neat blaster, depending on what fps people can get it to, I might have to pick one up eventually. I’m definitely more inclined toward the villianator though.
For it to truly be the walcom "perfect" blaster it also needs a thumb hole stock

The way I see it, Dart Zone is in the same situation Nerf was back when elite was first coming out, always innovating and advancing, and having the majority market, but overtime running out of ideas and losing market share.

I’d say we need a half dart version of this, but even with a tighter hopper they would probably just flip over inside.

That moment when in a heated nerfer moment you accidentally stuff your fluffer into the hopper, and yeet it at ~90 fps
I know I'm gonna catch some flak for this one, but I can't help but notice that this blaster has an odd resemblance in shape to the deploy. Except this thing has a kick the deploy never dreamed of, and the gimmick is very useful.
Looks like something out if brutal Doom or Aliens. Love it.

I would have a mod on the little side door that makes a a little chimney type thing that lines up with the top of the blaster so you can pop them down the top instead of pushing them through the side, might make for easier top ups on the go
Has walcom done a video in the zuru x-shot turbo fire?, not the new one but the old yellow or green one because I have one.
the blaster's great, but ngl I think it needed the stock attachment point so that you could use the other stocks from the recent dart zone guns

An intriguing blaster to say the least. It isn't perfect, but it is innovative.
It's definitely interesting, closest thing to a tube magazine in a foam dart blaster.
I hope there will be a crank-operated, machine gun type using the Revreaper manual flywheel tech with either belt-fed or hopper fed ammo delivery system... That would be my dream blaster...
Dang I really like this blaster, I think a steam punk or like post apocalyptic paint job would look amazing on it.

Been trying to put my finger on what that silhouette reminds me of since I saw it in a video thus morning;
It kind of reminds me of a SPAS 12 with the stock folded.
Yeah it looks like some kind of shotgun thing I've seen in the past.
@Daniel Griffith it's specifically the little nub where a stock would be, combined with the sort of humpback look and the shape of the carry handle that makes me think of a spas 12, doubly so with the front support mimicking the pseudo over-under double barrel silhouette caused by the Spas 12's tube mag.
Also probably my love for Jurassic Park.
One small issue (which isn’t even an issue for most people) is that dart zone blasters come with only enough darts to fill them once. All the perks are still worth it though.
With a pusher breach how does it like the pro darts?
My centurion has never shredded darts. Issues with buzzbee mag alignment though.

On the topic of gimmicks, I wonder if it’s possible to make a half-dart blaster with a P90-style magazine. I THINK it would allow people to use longer magazines, as they wouldn’t have to worry about bumping them on things.

Would slightly shorter darts (X-Shot? 3/4 darts?) feed better or worse in the Sportsman? I imagine half darts would cause the blaster to jam 99% of the time but a slight length reduction might help the dart drop into the breech?
I'd like to see the Motostryke reviewed next. It looks like an awesome blaster so far and another strong candidate for a HvZ secondary.
What I've seen from other similar Hoppers is with more front to back space darts are more likely to upend themselves in the bucket

If i were to mod it, i would probably remove the hopper and make it a breech loading brass barrel sort of thing. I know it defeats the purpose but the pusher breech is just asking for a long brass barrel
Yeah pusher breeches are uncommon, we see them on some blasters but they're never quite as obviously good as what this thing has. Deadspace, sure; but with a better barrel this thing will scream.
