    I quite like the way this amp sounded. It obviously took the pedals quite respectably, doing what you'd expect. It responded to the dirt satisfactorily, which is more than what you could say for most SS amps! I really look forward to getting myself one. Thank you.

      They are great little amps for sure...I'm sure she'd love it....but...I'd suggest having a look at this one too: th-cam.com/video/7VrCW9C8jxc/w-d-xo.html If she's a bedroom player and doesn't want to invest in pedals, this might be more suited to her needs. If you do go with the Orange...make sure to break in that speaker. They tend to be a bit fuzzy/buzzy until it's broken in. Rock on and good luck!

    Great video and interesting points. So many reviewers talk about YT's compression and audio quality but not many discuss why they choose an amp or gear to alleviate some of the issues that arise from that. That’s the 2nd time this channel has said that the Orange 35 RT has a spring reverb. It does not. The on board reverb is digital, in fact, it’s the only part of the amp that isn’t analogue. I have a 35 RT, and like it a lot, but just in the interest of complete transparency, the reverb channel is digital.

    • @RockHardRiffs
      @RockHardRiffs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome and thanks for watching. For every player...there's a potential different way to dial in an amp. Some turn up all the EQ's all the way, then turn down (or take away) which ever tone is too much. I would suggest using the type of tone you use the most...i.e. distorted or light overdrive or clean...which ever you use the most. Then put your EQ's at noon or 12:00. At this point add or take away which ever tones you like or want less of. Here's an example: th-cam.com/video/XJb8_NTemrc/w-d-xo.html

They really knocked it out of the park with these. Incredibly versatile, take pedals like champs whether you're in front or though the loop, and it's refreshing to see something fully analog as opposed to digital. I like the digital stuff too but sometimes ya just wanna go back to basics. Keep in mind though if you're using the gain channel on the 35RT because there is no dedicated master, it gets really loud, REALLY fast. Not the best for apartments. Great question. It depends on how you use the amp. In most cases, you'd run reverb (if needed) and/or delay thru the loop if using the amps dirty channel. In this case, the 35rt has its own reverb. If using the clean channel with an overdrive pedal, you want the reverb (in the amp) and delay 'after' the overdrive in the chain. I don't know about thin or harsh, but yes you can take an amp simulator like the strymon Iridium using the cab bypass and plug it into the FX loop return.

    Hi, Im looking for an affordable amp for home recording and practising. Within this price range I consider the 35rt a great choice, however the only thing im concerned about is how it takes pedals for ambient guitar. I have a bigger pedal board with 2 reverb pedals (i use Fender Reflecting Pool mainly) and i use very "huge" reverb settings with long decays, sometimes the shimmer setting combined with a delay pedal also set at more soundscape making seting, chorus and potentionally some overdrive. Do you think the 35rt would be suitable for this without some unwated hiss muddy sounds/breaking the sound? This video is just an example: th-cam.com/video/DPKrBryOzYk/w-d-xo.html , but thats what im sort of aiming for. I tought about buying a roland jc22 amp, which takes big pedalboards well but thats about 200 euro more in my country, so I thought I'd ask for your opinion on this.

    • @RockHardRiffs

    I’m pretty sure this is the amp I want to buy. Can you get a solid classic rock “Led Zeppelin” kind of sound on this amp?

    • @RockHardRiffs
      @RockHardRiffs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Amanda. Which Led Zeppelin type sound?...lol. This amp has 4 gain stages which help give you different tones. You can use whatever pedals you like to help attain the tones you're looking for, too. It's a great little amp. Thanks for watching!

      @@RockHardRiffs hmm I’m very new to guitar playing but mostly I mean the classic 1960s and 70s tone. I’m going to be playing a lot with headphones as well because I live in a townhouse and can’t have the volume too loud. So someone recommended to me a Boss Katana 50, but i heard that it has more of a modern sound/tone than the orange, so it was a concern for me. But I also heard that it’s a better amp for distortion at lower levels…. So I’m really not sure. Would you recommend the katana or the orange crush. Personally I like the sound of the orange better..

    • @RockHardRiffs
      @RockHardRiffs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@user-iy7ub8gn3w I understand your situation. One thing I'd suggest is to not put the cart before the horse. I wouldn't buy expensive gear at first. I'd prioritize learning to play first over anything else. I have no experience with the Katana amps, but I've heard very good things. 50 watts is probably far, far more than you'd need. 35 watts is more than you'd need. You may want to check out the Fender Mustang LT25: th-cam.com/video/7VrCW9C8jxc/w-d-xo.html here is a comparison with the Fender and the Orange Crush 20rt: th-cam.com/video/KV4v50Jlfjw/w-d-xo.html Another issue is the headphone capabilities of amps tend to be a bit disappointing. I think that's really cool you're looking for that classic Rock guitar tone. I hope this helps!
