    Bought this machine after nearly ten years of wanting one and it has been sitting unboxed since Black Friday 2023 knowing I had to devote time to learning it. Well Miss Jeanette, I thank you for your tutelage for a VERY successful first fabric release. I'll be back for more of your CV2340 videos as I continue to learn about my "Little Brother". Fantastic, straightforward and easy to understand. Great to the point video. Thank you so very much!!!

    Jeanette, your videos are sooo helpful. I've tried every other fabric release video & settled on yours, mainly because it leaves long thread tails you can grab onto when you start sewing. I do have one question, though. The instruction manual states that when you begin sewing, the needle threads should be on top of the presser foot. Do you agree and, if so, how do you accomplish that? Thanks, Jeanette.

    This is so awesome. I followed you on the video and finally removed my fabric with success. Thank you!!! Now I have to figure out my tension setting so I don’t have one needle making bigger looking stitches than the other. I’m using stretchy and thin ITY with two needles (left and right, not middle). I had my needle tensions on 4 and 4, and looper also on 4. I tried raising the left needle tension to 5, leaving all else alone, but that didn’t make any difference. I believe my differential and stitch length were on whatever the defaults are. I will keep methodically changing and recording my settings, but any suggestions for what else to change would be appreciated. Thanks!

    • @jeanetteweger5518
      @jeanetteweger5518  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Put your stitch length at 4 and leave it there. Instead of going up to 5 try going down little increments at a time. Needle and looper tensions will vary for each, they’re not necessarily at the same settings every time. If you sew fairly thin fabrics and you have tunneling issues, try putting your differential at .7
      Be sure to use the right needles too.

    Hello Jeannette, I have a little question for you. I have no problem with my seams when I sew all around (like hemming a t-shirt) as I overlap my seam by 2 or 3 stitches. However I am not too satisfied when I make a seam on a open garment (lets say hemming a cardigan). The stitches always start at about half an inch from the edge of the garment. So I have to finish the threads by hand. So what am I doing wrong? Thanks.

      Put your needles down in the fabric as close to the edge as you can before your lower your foot. Once the foot is down, do your couple of hand turns and take off from there!! Be sure to hold the thread tails as you start.

    Because of your helpful videos I have purchased the same brother cover stitch you have. I am finding that there is not a slow speed that I can maintain as I sew. The foot press hums and then just takes off. I am finding it difficult to cover stitch on curves that I need to go slowly over.
