It definitely gives off that 2000s era Sonic vibe or more specifically it feels like would be in one of the Sonic racing games. But I feel like it suits crazy taxi a bit more.
Everytime I hear Ska music in a racing/skating game, I always feel like I'm aging backwards to my young years where I aspired to be a rebellious teen with a free spirit
Having played the demo, I can't get over how nice of a 90's retro aesthetic this game has... yet you can clearly see the Freedom Tower and not the Twin Towers in this NYC skyline.
If put in the right context and build-up, even the cheesiest music makes for the best experience in gaming. Take Ace Combat and Flamenco, Shrek 2 and "Holding Out For A Hero", and the spiritual successor of that, Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker with "Love Deterrence".
This feels like a perfect PS1/Dreamcast era game.....but it only came out 4 days ago. What a lovely throwback gem. It would go perfectly with a Goldfinger soundtrack (Superman, 99 Red Balloons). You're like a perfect marketing piece for these under the radar racing games. I might buy this and try and beat your best time. I too really like my racing.
For an arcade racer, it has a surprising amount of depth and potential for off the wall skips. Sadly, it doesn't have a lot of tracks, but they're so replayable and the game is cheap. And who knows, maybe more tracks will come down the line.
@@MariusUrucu Haha I DID notice you slow down at the end to try and cross the line in time with the music. Some things are more important than fast times :D
This wonderful little game kept my interest more than a lot of recent slop. Can I also say that it's incredible to see a new game that barely breaks 200mb and has so much fun to offer.
I'm more of electronic music (Eurobeat, DnB, Techno, Trance) guy when it comes to racing games. But soundtracks like Daytona USA where it has cheesy and upbeat feeling of a song... is also very enjoyable to my ears.
If anyone in the comments hasn't played this game, it absolutely slaps. Fun as hell and with a nice learning curve that's easy to get but hard to master.

Ah, not just any music with vocals. Ska. My favorite genre. First introduced to me in Tony Hawk games. Goldfinger's Superman is always fun to get on my playlist.

Oh man, I’m suddenly tempted by the idea of a soundtrack in which the intensity of it changes depending on both your position and the lap. Think of it in the way that DMC V does the battle song ranking.
High bpm songs, hype songs and cheesy vocal songs all make racing games better, And this one song has all three! NFS Unbound has none of those in it's entire soundtrack...
Have the rainbow road go straight towards the city skyline in the background and make it nighttime and add the song The Lady in Red/nobody here by Chris de Burgh and it would feel even more nostalgic and aesthetically pleasing
More gameplay from Parking Garage Rally Circuit
