I want doctor who’s viewership to fall below a million😂
When they show part 2 next year
Won't happen as there will always be a core fanbase who will watch no matter how bad the show gets. If they turned the Doctor into Skippy in the morning, the same fans would tune in hoping "It would get better"....
The overnights might fall below a million, even if the 7 day figures get over the 2 million mark
You're not alone, but it won't happen; while the situation is dire - and the overnight ratings are plummeting its only a matter of time before its cancelled - whether or not it happens is anyones guess; however they might not get a Series 16 - Since Disney did pay for Series 14 & Series 15. I do not think they're getting the return in investment so they might not pay for series 16. Who knows though - its Disney after all!

I used to work in education. Whenever the testing scores started dipping (again -dipping again...they never go up btw), the state, at the behest of the teacher's unions, would change the test and reset how scores were calculated and processed. When scores were bad again they would often complain about how bad parents are. When scores were decent (very seldom good), they'd talk about what a good job they were doing.

Guess time to update my odd figures. The Overnight is still avg loss of 82.9K per week. The 7+ avg loss has shaved down to just under 81.7K . Average viewership increase from Overnight to 7+ is just under 1.48M.
Sadly, these days, I fear that Disney and Beeb may be just stupid enough to triple/quadruple down and go at least one more year.

There is some confusion about cancellation. The BBC contracted Bad Wolf to produce 4 seasons of Doctor Who in 5 years. Disney agreed to cover half the costs to distribute the show on DisneyPlus outside the UK for 2 years. Those first two seasons were shot back-to-back and are finished. If Disney pulls out and another streaming co. doesn't replace that money than Bad Wolf will produce another two season with half the budget of the first two.
More likely they would write it off as a loss. That would make financial sense. In saying that, Bad Wolf, BBC and Disney don’t appear to have a grasp on how to make money producing good TV. For one, you do not allow your actors to alienate the majority of your viewers.
We do not know the details of these contracts. Disney is committed to 2 years. The BBC and Bad Wolf were so sure of success. They may be stuck doing the next 2 themselves. And I cannot see them admit failure.

Just people getting their knickers in a twist because the show is that bad they know it's going to get cancelled but just don't want to accept it.
There is something you should note Mr H. Take away the 7 day TV only figure from the 7 day + 4 screen rating. That will give you the actual numbers that are watching it on iPlayer over 7 days. Its about 300,000. Only 200,000 watched Boom on iPlayer. TV only is still the main source of the views. Despite all the shills that come out with the "we watch TV differently these days" trope.

I can understand the anger towards you from the “new” Dr Who fans. They are protective of the show that they have become invested in, the last few years. Maybe now they understand how angry we real, long term Whovians are at how they have totally urinated on the iconic TV show real fans have grown up with. The reality is, the new “fans” won’t even remember it after it is cancelled. They will just move on to another iconic show and destroy it. It will be up to the real fans to resurrect it. I was made fun of during the 70's and 80's for liking sci fi by so many females of different ages. Now, Dr. Who was never for me; He was there for Me as a victim of trauma trying to figure out a world in which I was kind of small and smart and already had PTSD, hypervigilance, and anxiety from a grape attempt I escaped and was never reported and My Parents and the 'professionals' couldn't see.
Most women really don't understand how hard life is or at least, can be for men. No empathy in them for the ones 'chosen' to die in their defense. Let's not even mention the misogyny in so many women, if a woman is blessed by genetics She will be cursed by envy.
Women expect men in the family to be providers and not be emotionally effected by all the stress flying around in the house or their workplace. As soon as they feel like a man might not be able to be the provider due to emotional issues, they see him as a failure and get angry

We will of course pretend that even this low number is all different viewers and not many of the same viewers rewatching the episode two or more times or just returning to view the stunning and brave gay snog several days in a row.

Look, if RTD wants to bring out a sci fi gay icon then he should go ahead and create one, brand new fresh out of the box. Thanks for your videos and information, I haven't watched Dr. Who for years which is a shame...it was family friendly but became weird, unwholesome and embarrassing...We have the old dvds which are as entertaining as ever, my favourite doctors are William Hartnell and Jon Pertwee with great storylines and proper scary monsters...I doubt that Davie's sorry rants will ever make it to dvds,if they did who would want to buy them?!
Good unbiased detailed breakdown here mate. Will be genuinely concerned if the total viewing figures for this weeks or even next weeks dont atleast go uo considering these are probably the two best episodes of the season.

Episode six was, also, a combination (of sorts) of two shows. It may have gained some views from Bridgerton fans. It is the tactic of a show throwing references, from another show, into their episode, to get those fan views, as well.
I don't bother with Trek Culture anymore since they want older Star Trek fans to go away because we don't like Star Trek from 2017 to present i.e. NuTrek. The fan base is truly split for Star Trek. Although most of Star Trek fans are for 1966 to 2005 Trek. The NuTrek fans aren't bringing in the money anymore which shows why the studio is up for sale.
Yes its the same with Star Wars. Split fandom after Last Jedi etc...Its split three ways with people who love the originals and hate the prequels and Disney. And people who love the prequels and hate Disney and people who love Disney Wars no matter what....etc. You get the picture. Now its Doctor Who. Some prefer the classic era, some love the new era, some love both and a small number like Whitaker etc....The arguments never stop....I wonder what will happen now the Paramount Skydance deal has fallen through. I would hate to see Paramount gone as they have given us some great films for decades as well as the original Trek casts films. And the current mess has come about due to Trek costs and it not being a hit etc...and these idiots still think new Trek is great...nope....
Interesting. There is a pattern here. Whitaker started out with higher overnights and higher 7days+Iplayer. By the time she left the over nights were down to about 3.5 million and the catchup 7days + Iplayer were also down to 1.5 million. Now Gatwa has tanked the over nights to 2 million only, lower than Whitaker, lower than any other Doctor in the 60+ years. And the catchup 7days + Iplayer are also stuck at the same 1.5 million. But this is after only his first season! It took Whitaker 3 seasons to get the lowest overnights and the drop to 1.5 for all other methods of viewing. I wonder if this 1.5 million is pretty much the whole audience. Thats it. This is the stable hardcore gay / trans / under 30 / Tik Tok core viewers. Lets face it to watch on Iplayer you have to go out of your way, search for it and sit down to watch it after doing so. Its not like you just put on the tv at random and happen to do it as Doctor Who starts or is on in the house as someone else is watching.
So for the last couple of episodes its going to be interesting to see if the Iplayer+7 etc stays the same and if the over nights drop further still....

That 8 million people thought this was a good program to watch....The nation that gave the world Pink Floyd, The Who, Eric Clapton, Queen, The Police, Dire Straits, U2, Genesis, David Bowie, All About Eve, The Primitives, Blur, Oasis, The Beatles etc to name a few, think its a great idea to watch people who cant sing, play or write songs, honk out noises on some Eurotrash show. As every nation in Europe hates us and never stops letting us know, I would not watch this crap on principle....

The good news is that Eurovision's audience was down by two million over previous years; some have attempted to claim that was down to a pro-palestinian protest about Israel being there, whatever.
@@ShanghaiRooster Well I should have said the Uk etc as a whole...yes. And All About Eve do belong in that list. Such an under rated band. Julian Regan wrote some incredible and beautiful songs and her voice is just amazing. It puts these so called artist of today to shame. She now teaches song writing etc at University level...I suppose it was just back then there was so much choice some true gems got lost in it. Like the Primitives...a ground breaking band. They are still around. Go and have a look on you tube and you will find some All About Eve live concerts. One in Germany with Regan in shorts leaping all over the stage belting out the vocals.....superb lyrics and guitar playing...I am biased I suppose as I play guitar so tend to focus on talent rather than people shouting crap into a mike like today. Or in a line up on autotune and calling themselves a band...do me a favour.....

For context the UK No1 programme last week was a leaders debate for Prime Minster 5.37M after 7 Days on all devices & TV.
Ep 6 : Rogue at 3.52M was the No1 viewed broadcast programme that Sat night on all UK channels, it's not great but it's been rather stable like you said not dropping below 3M but not gaining much above 4M consolidated either all series.
That is the televisional landscape of Britain, it's absolutely frickin dire!! In the toilet stuff!!
It doesn't expire from Iplayer streaming so the BBC will count every single view forevermore (not just 7 or 28 days, any data will be used) but it is clear it is not a hit show that appeals to everyone anymore
Yet Red Eye was getting 6 million every episode. But it speaks volumes when The Great British Sewing Bee gets nearly a million views more than Doctor Who lol. Also the mythical audience on iPLayer has not appeared. Only about 300,000 are watching on iPlayer over 7 days.
@@Andy.Gledhill.Models. Doctor Who just isn't "That show" clearly if your a fan or not a fan you cannot ignore the data on offer. "Red Eye" (an adult prime time watershed drama) was fascinating though because it was all dropped on ITVX (streaming) but it did amazingly on broadcast TV episodically week after week. I think comparing it to Sewing Bee prob is a little unfair though because it's still a universally appealing talent show.
I don't think it's expectable that Doctor Who should be now pulling up trees given it's decline in popularity over a long period of time but when your No1 programme is pulling no more than 6.5-6.9 Million for months that's the ceiling & the context that has to be in any argument. I mean look at the decreased popularity of the BGT final this year.
I think Doctor Who is doing steady but it currently is not showing enough growth & likely to get a decrease in budget at least but it will still be made.
I cannot disagree with you on those Iplayer numbers being bad they certainly will be keeping an eye on them for the foreseeable. Do people watch DW again and again today? Only they will know.
@@fleason771 But remember back last year. The specials and the Xmas special got 7 million to 7.5 million. That means that the new season has lost 3.5 million viewers since the Xmas special. Maybe it is a fault at the scheduling in May, resulting in fewer viewers. But then again, other dramas such as Red Eye, Death in Paradise etc do get over 6 million on a regular basis. Doctor Who is well below that.

If I was the BBC I'd run S2 in Jan 2025 alongside surprise hit "Gladiators" & if it can't improve from what it's getting now then you've tried everything apart from dropping it all on Iplayer & changing production

At this point I hope it won't get renewed. Just let it rest for a couple of years, and then give it to someone who truly understands the heart and soul of original Doctor Who so we can forget about everything from the 12th Doctor onwards.
I've got a feeling episode 7 will be higher due to a returning villain and most first parts of finales generally increase slightly before dropping off in part 2. But I could be wrong 😂
The first part got the lowest overnights of the season so far and has now got the record for the lowest rated Doctor Who story of all time. I suspect the gay kiss last week is what helped drive the ratings lower still this week. As that got a lot of bad feedback across all walks of life other than the 1 - 2% of people who love that sort of thing. The 7+Iplayer update when it comes might top it up a bit due to Sutekh, but I wonder how. As most classic era fans wont be back for the CGI version due to how bad the rest of the crap has been and Ncuti and RTDs comments. They are gone and for good. So the final part will be interesting ratings wise. From the point of view that if they dont increase a lot it will be the final proof if any is needed that the show is utterly destroyed. When it comes back for the second season its also going to be starting at this low point, with fans and general viewers as well....Remember that song? How low can you go!! How low can you go!!!!! It keeps echoing in my head....
@@Simon-xc5oy I'm a Classic Who fan grew up with Classic Who. I totally agree when Sutekh turned up I instantly thought Goofy the Destitute 😂. I was saying that I would see a slight increase due to finale as in the past there has been a slight peak interest which drops of very quickly. Me personally was never a fan of NuWho dipped in and out but never rewatched it post original airing. Classic Who I can rewatch over and over again and never get bored of it. I agree that the last episode would of made a lot tap out but Ill expecting the +7 iplayer have a slight increase as some Classic Who fan will want to see how they mess up Sutekh lol. Like I said before I could be totally wrong but I can guarantee part 2 will bomb in the ratings.
Season 2 I totally agree will start on a all time low and decline as it goes on. The first episode maybe slightly raised but seeing this season first story wasn't good either so unlikely. Most Classic fans and some NuWho fans I know have turned their backs on the show.

The raw numbers are bad enough, but the elephant in the room is per capita numbers. IF, Dr. Who maintained popularity it would look like this for the overnights.
The Satan Pit (2006): 5.5 million (overnight) or 9.16% of the UK population
73 Yards (2024): 6.2 million (overnight) or 9.16% of the UK population
So if this train wreck was even close to being as popular as the sycophants claim, the overnight numbers should look like the official +7 (TV+4-Screen) numbers. It would still be a massive viewership loss, but they can't even manage that.
Surprised it was slightly up. But still second lowest. Probably up (slightly) due to the car-crash phenomenon. Seems as though the people who watched it probably didn't enjoy it, thus the mega drop in overnights this week.

It's possible it increases a bit because people see these revues and tune in to check it out. So yes, I reckon the YT vids cause this small increase. But I'd like to see the figures for people who tuned out half way through a show, or just skipped through it.
They got one more card to use before cancellation and that's bring back Tennant for a full season. If that doesn't work its done. I guarantee they're on the phone to DT the moment they saw these ratings. And Ncuti is absolutely a 2 season Doctor.

I wonder how many of the 1.4 mil - that watch it over 7 days and iPlayer, are actually ppl repeat viewing the episode from when it was originally broadcast. In which case the overall genuine viewing figures would actually be even lower than the consolidated number suggests.
That episode 4 upswing in my view, didn't have much (or anything) to with Ncuti not being in the show much, because 1, the average viewer wouldn't have known that in advance anyway. But, with all my normie friends, the ones I spoke to Dr Who about, said they were looking forward to this because they heard it was a "Horror episode" in relative terms. I don't know how true that that it was in reality, but I did have a handful of chats, both online and real life about this episode, and the "horror episode" stuff was mentioned.

Be interesting to see the toy sales this year
I was looking up some of the costs of the figures on Ebay this morning and was astonished. I have a lot of classic era figures Tome Baker, Pertwee etc and the Morbious monster is going for over £30 loose and slightly worn on Ebay. The Zygon figure for more. I have all of these and many others as well as the boxes. I went looking for a Sutekh figure, as I have some of the Pyramids stuff but not all and they are a premium. Mind you if I sold off my classic era figures I could buy a yacht and sail to Miami, buy a Ferrari and pretend I am Don Johnson...thats how much the classic figures are going for. As for the new era toys I had a lot of those, Tardis playset, large Daleks and remote control figures etc. When Whitaker got the part and started attacking the fanbase it so tainted my enjoyment of the new era of the show I sold all of them and made a lot of cash. I ended up buying a huge Tv with the money and HD projector etc so the toys can be a good investment if you get the right ones....The Whitaker era stuff is not popular though...heh.....
Almost nobody is watching Dr Who on any platform. They KNOW it. They know it won't get any more eps.

I think maybe the “Rogue” episode spiked ever so slightly because of strong fan reaction/word of mouth - curious to see just how bad the episode, the writing and this “Doctor” actually are. Their curiosity sated, the audience numbers for the following “Legend Of Ruby Sunday” sank even lower.
Episode 7 will be the test of how many people were turned off the show after seeing episode 6 'Rogue'.🤔

Look ive loved doctor who since i was a kid in the late 80s, im 42, i grew up on McCoy, VHS and Bravo reruns lol. But wven i can see the writing editing acting and virtue signalling is whats killing this ahit nit some views of decent TH-cam critics who literally just tell the truth.
I try to stay on both sides i like both views abd rhen to make up my own mind.

So heres what happened, when the “bi-regeneration” occurred dr who collided with an alternate reality in which gatwa appeared as the exact opposite of what the real dr who stood for. (Kind of how he is now) They can then retcon the rest of the nonsense and create 2 series, the real one with a strong central MALE TIMELORD in control of the situation and the other with a gay cry baby running around the universe spreading wokeness and nonexistent racism whilst trying to have relations with every male he meets and blackwashing history for the sake of it…. Perfect, balance is restored
