An absolutely beautiful video, stunning pictures, soothing music and a moving narrative told by a young local person speaking the local dialect. Everything blends in so well that only a person with a real connection to the place can express. I look forward to your next video 😀
Your vlogs just came into my feed. How delightful to go alongside you to see the 3 gorges and the Yangtze River. The scenery and your poetic narration linking the past and the present touched my heart. I have fallen so much in love with China via travel vlogs especially like yours and Yan’s “ Little Chinese Everywhere” show casing the less travelled rural areas of China! I am so glad too to see young talented Chinese women venturing out on their own to videograph China, city and country side with intelligent reflective thoughts! “Racing against time”- you have captured the lives of village folks and their livelihood before they disappear! Thank you and Jayeo!❤️☮️👍
Thanks Jane for your heartfelt words and supports! I'm thinking about doing Yangtze River series this year, will for sure captured more live ancient heritages, 加油too
Using Google Maps (terrain layer) I was able to see where you climbed using the shuttle bus and on foot, to the spots you viewed The Great Yangtze below you. One of the things that struck me during my visits to China (and there were many things) was how places of interest, such as where you visited here, have well maintained walkways and sheltered viewing points along the way, as well as illustrating China's charming culture and architecture with the design of the side fences and rooves of the shelters and buildings. I thought your drone shots of the barges carrying containers, and the boats in the river's gorges below gave a good indication of just how vast the Three Gorges feature is across the landscape.
I took the shuttle bus to the top of the mountain. There's another way to get there: a 5-hour walk from Bai Di Cheng. the landscapes and monkeys along this route are quite attractive for hikers. I will definitely take that route for next time visiting.
This is so wonderful! Thank you for sharing! Subscribed!! I'm very sure your channel will grow very fast! The first minute in the music was louder than the voice so it was a bit hard to hear. Love all the historical information. Love all the narration!
The oranges are very cheap, only $0.85 USD per kilo! I would love to enjoy eating the oranges with you on top of the mountain looking down to Three Gorges. You are very good at cinematography,.
Thank you very much for making this video --- seeing the scene and hearing your narrative make me feel as if I am walking with you. I am from Australia and really enjoy this video.
I really don't know what to say. I sailed down the Yangtze (Chongqing to Yichang) in 2012 and then Yichang to Chongqing in 2014, and the Three Gorges were magnificent. But this video just gave me another perspective that was almost totally overwhelming. My most treasured photo from China is taken from the White Emperor City, where you walked, and is of the entrance to Qu Tang Gorge (similar to what is on the 10 RMB note) - it had been a cloudy day with slight rain, but then the sun broke through the clouds and shone onto the entrance to Qu Tang and turned the surface of the Yangtze gold and silver for barely a second as I took the photo, and then disappeared again. Thank you so much for provoking these memories with your calm and gentle video.
I just discovered your channel and this is great to see someone who is well verse in the history as well as the bi-lingual ability to capture the sentiment fully, of course the video skill is so great. There is a lot of effort用心良苦。Thank you for sharing and I hope more people will find you. Travel safe.❤
Great job documenting your travels. Love it. I traveled there in 1995 before they started damming the river. It sure has changed. Back then there were none of those roads and highways I see in your video. We also traveled up what they called the Little Gorge River by small boat, I can only assume they are underwater now.
It's so cool to see these magnificent views in 1995. Higher water submerged some landmarks as the water level rose. Yet, most of the heritage sites were moved to higher ground, it was a mass project to transfer all those ancient heritages along the riversides, I'll get to this topic in future videos.
I hiked up to the top of the mountain (tao zi shan which translates to peach mountain ) back in 2016 when it was still wild and not yet a tourist spot. It was absolutely beautiful to have seen it that way. The town on your way to the shuttle is called cao tang because Du Fu used to live there. There was a Du Fu Cao Tang. He had written hundreds of poems when he lived there for two years. White emperor city was my playground when I was younger. It’s great to see it on the web outside of the wall. My city, FengJie, had a long and rich history. It was the capital of Kui Zhou for many centuries. The ancient city had its glorious days and it’s comparable to many of the old towns you would find in China, but it was bombed and destroyed by the Japanese in the Second World War. The waterway had lost its advantages after the railway was built. The gate was no longer the throat to the west of China. The old town, which was totally destroyed and thousands of families were relocated due to the construction of the three gorges dam including my family. I long to go back, but everything was gone, until I see your video. Many memories came back. Thank you. Great video.
I'm a new subscriber to your channel but I'm already enjoying the videos I've watched so far - your description of the places you're in, the history behind important spots, the quite lyrical and tranquil way of talking all encourage me to continue watching your videos. There's so much to learn and appreciate about your country: its culture, history, the people and the land Thanks for sharing!
We usually called Qu Tang Xia as the beginning of the three gorges rather than the ending point, as the Yangtze River flows from the west to the east. The ending point the three gorges is not in Fengjie, it is located in Yichang, Hubei. Xi Ling Xia, as the eastern gorge in the gorges lies entirely in Yichang, also with the well-known Three Gorges Dam!

@@Honglin65 The walk sounds good if you have time. I remember the troublesome monkeys on Mount Emei in Sichuan, but they were fun too.

pretty cheap oranges right? Tastes great, however these oranges are only available in winter, it would be nice if they were available in summer

Yes they are! Especially before the impoundment of the Three Gorges Dam, the mountains here are even more treacherous and magnificent

You have a very unique way of presenting this Western part of China. Good video technique, story telling, and real scene documentation. Like it.

What month did you make this video?
You look exactly like my cousin from Fujian.
Merci de nous faire connaitre la Chine avec ces traditions millénaires mais qui se perdent.
Can you please find any historical places about Naga migration in ancient China's history 😮
noted!Will do
拍摄剪辑到文字都很用心,但是讲的好像又很浅,都是一笔带过的
谢谢你的反馈,会尝试不同风格的
