Sam McClure has only been saying Martin will be going to the Suns since 2017. 8 years of the same story, and it still hasn’t happened. Worst bloke in the media, closely followed by Kane Cornes and his inability to not rip into Richmond on a weekly basis.

There’s always been a different set of rules for Dusty. And while they were winning flags and he was winning B+Fs and Norm Smith medals those standards were fine. Not tenable when your sitting bottom of the ladder though

It's a storm in a teacup. Richmond are buggered for this season anyway. They might offer him a contract of around 700k to stay. If he wants to go to Gold Coast that is fine.

Your club has bent over backwards over the years to accommodate him off the field. But you did it because he was such a good player.
Now, you guys need him to be a leader around the club and set the example to a crop of kids, but he has checked out.

I think Dusty going to QLD to play footy is the best thing for a guy who hates the media, hates the cameras and doesn’t want the fame. Imagine a stress free life, playing in the heat. It’s a fact that sun makes you a lot more of a better person. Living in Melbourne is depressing tbh
Dustys a champion of the Richmond football club, given them more than what they could have ever hoped, hes earned the right to take a break and play golf, and i can see him retiring at seasons end, cant see him at the suns

Yze has been nothing short of incredible for richmond this yr
Our team is so starved of high end talent and injuries to the majority of our list, outside of 2 horrendous games against dogs/lions and probably 2 others we've been competitive in 3qtrs each game, not to mention we beat the 1st on the ladder and lost by a goal against 2nd
Yze is resetting and making his own new culture which will reap benefits in the long term

Kane is so biased it’s unbelievable. What does he expect from Yze? It’s his first year as coach and the club is in a very tumultuous time combined with the worst run of injuries I’ve seen. It’s not a time for a hard edge to whip the players into gear. It’s time for development, Yze needs to keep the playing group together together and to make sure they’re still enjoying their footy despite the losses. If you gave port Adelaide the injury list Richmond has had this year they’d be bottom 4.

Dustin Martin was always a downhill skier. The reason why he's so great is because he was in a great team at the time. Gold Coast would waste money if he went there.
The same player was BOG in the majority of finals he played with 3 Norm Smith Medals. The opposite of being a downhill skier. 🤣🤣
He definitely benefited from the players around him, but he still had to execute.
His 2017 season is the greatest individual season I’ve ever seen, and he dominated the finals in each of Richmond’s flag years.
He will go down as one of the greats of the current era.
