To the younger generation he is the most watchable commentator; articulate, smart and possessing unrivalled natural comedic ability. As a player, he was even better … much better. If your life depended on winning a match, Dunstall is your first team pick. His array of abilities ranging from the spectacular to the workmanlike distilled down to him being the most effective player on the field. There always seemed to be a vortex of momentum around him borne out of determination.

    What a fantastic speech
This man has single-handedly given us Hawthorn supporters so much joy over his career, and it’s so fitting that he is now officially a Legend of the AFL, because he has always been a Legend of Hawthorn
    Congratulations Chief!

I'm a Pies supporter but Dunstall was an amazing footballer. So many times he broke my heart but it was always amazing to watch him burst out on a lead, stick his big backside out, lean forward and take the mark and then nail the goal. Nothing but respect.

Great speech and well deserved recognition. He not only kicked many goals he also gave many away to his team mates. The 80's was an amazing era with the full forwards and he was a joy to watch

When I was younger, Jason came to my junior football club and did a clinic for us. It was a Mother's Day, and I was going out for lunch for my grandmother, and my coach told me to inform him that I was leaving. Jason, without skipping a beat proceeded to tell me. Wish your grandmother a happy day for me and that he had to ring his mother later in the day. I may be an Essendon fan but will never forget his kindness.

I got to grow up with Jason Dunstall during the era of forwards in the 1990's, it was magnificent him vs Lockett, Ablett or Sumich for the Coleman and 110 plus goals each.

Jason Dunstall was a superb footballer, great hands, great on the lead, the best mark of a poor kick you've ever seen. Great, accurate kick, had plenty of tricks too. The complete footballer and rightly inducted as a legend.
