Doc was my first GI Joe ever as a kid. I had to repurchase his Helmet and flare gun during covid. I never lost his stretcher (or broke it). I got the 2007 Carla "Doc" Greer, The 25th Ann mail away Doc, The Rise of Cobra Doc, Kreo Doc and the modern sculpt version of Carla "Doc" Greer. So I obviously have a sentimental connection to the character.
Oh man, welcome back and thanks for this great video, the original team's medic, Doc, great character in both medias comics and animated serie, and I remember that issue where he is the first Joe to die and in such a horrendous way, still. He is suppose to appear in Gi Joe Ever Vigilant, if the movie ever happens or a reboot is on its way i think Idris Elba could be terrific on the role.
General Flagg would be the first. If not him then it would be Mauler. General Flagg was killed by Major Bludd while a POW. Mauler was a Gi Joe recruit that died on his initiation mission
Even though I am not fond of doctors in real life, Doc is one of my favorite G.i.joe's and I always enjoyed him in the cartoon! I have an original Doc figure in my G.I.Joe collection!

Being a military veteran, I always cringe when see folk that use "medic" and "military doctor" like they are interchangeable. Lifeline is a combat medic. An enlisted soldier trained in battle triage and basic care. Doc is an officer and an actual doctor.
If he was born in Concord Massachusetts that means he would have been born in Emerson hospital which is the same hospital both Steve carell and myself were born in
I always thought Doc waa such a netter character then Life Line.... Doc always seemed less preachy then the latter....ps he was a must have figure when my joes fought cobra in my yard!!
Just found your channel. Great video on #GIJoeDoc ! Assuming that the filecard and packaged figure shown at 0:55 is the mail-away Doc figure that you mention at 11:51 ? Never got into buying the post 1980s/90s G.I. Joes, but curious if they added a guy to that 2008 figure or maybe it was just the flare gun, similar to how the original 80s figure included a flare launcher accessory.
@Karl Renner, are you talking about #AndrewGarfield who has portrayed both #SpiderMan and the #conscientiousobjector , but also #USsoldier , #DesmondDoss of #WWII fame? There's no connection with the #GIJoe character other than they both hold the view of a #refusaltobeararms , which I think we should have more representation of. 👍
I often wished that the GI Joe cartoon had many serious injuries and deaths like they did in the comics.. The realism would have made the cartoon so much better..
He's from Concord? BOSTON, REPRESENT! I went to school in Lexington....umm....it was in a program school...and I know Harvard really well, I hang out in Harvard Square a lot.
0:10 If Doc was a pacifist, then why does he not only carry a pistol but also, apparently, a rifle propelled grenade launcher? I mean, I'm not in any sense of the word a medical expert, but that looks more like an RPG than flare launcher Also, if he's a medical doctor, then why is he fulfilling the role as a field medic/Corpman? I served in the US Army and I've never heard of a doctor referred to as a "doc" before in a MASH unit (Yes, I'm old enough to have been in the Army when they still had MASH units but I never saw Hawkeye or BJ Hunnicut there) Medics roles are to stabilize a patient for transport to a field hospital, NOT to perform surgery on the ground or street of a battlefield and they're ALWAYS enlisted men, NOT captains like Doc is 2:49 Ballistic nykon vests were used during Vietnam and made TERRIBLE bulletproofing. They're main function was to protect from shrapnel, NOT direct hits on any kind. Even later kevlar vests can't stop bullets very well 3:31 The wrap Baroness up like a mummy but leave her hair free flowing, That doesn't make sense 4:27 NO ONE, I repeat, no one can hold up the barrel of CWIS gatling gun, for one, they weigh thousands of pounds, for 2, even if you could, how could you hold onto a rotating cannon while it fires and 3, EVEN if you could do all of that, the noise would deafen you, the heat would burn you, you'd be torn apart by the spinning barrels and the air pressure fro firing off thousands of rounds per minute isn't healthy for you either But then again, maybe they got lucky and hit Wild Weasel with only one shot. however unlikely that would be 8:24That SAW viper doesn't have a SAW but what appears to be a M60 machine gun
The pistol is a small flare gun. The "RPG" flare launcher is what they looked like in Vietnam. Oddly, Lifeline did come with a Colt 1911 pistol that fires 45. ammo.
@@williamthompson5504 Why would he need a flare pistol (a design that I've never seen before) and a flare rocket launcher? Soldiers in the field, especially in combat, carry the bare minimum amount of gear that you can get away with. Do you remember the movie Black Hawk Down? Just before the Battle of Mogadishu, one soldier turns to another and tells him not to pack his night vision goggles in his rucksack cause they're going in during the day This is the same as soldiers worldwide. You didn't expect a Vietnam era soldier to pack an arctic parka and other cold weather gear when going overseas do you? the same is true for soldiers going into battle When I was in the Army do you think I wanted to carry 120 pounds on my back if I didn't have to?
