My brother had the Leatherneck GI Joe action figure when we were very young! The GI JOE Sunbow series, the Rotten Egg was at his best, showing the Leatherneck is a great solider
I joined the Marine Corps in July of 2001, was at P.I. during 9/11, and I can honestly say that the G.I. Joe's cartoon heavily influenced my decision to join the military. Thank you for posting this video the day before the USMC birthday as it brings back some damn good memories. Keep up the good work, it's appreciated! OOH RAH Devil!
God bless you Marine and in you every need a ride this sailor's got your six. One more thing hope you have a good Veterans day and get a good meal my baby is taking me out for a steak.
Leatherneck is one of my favorite G.I.Joe characters from 1986! When I was a kid, I had no idea that Leatherneck was also a drill sergeant until I saw the episode The Rotten Egg! Once I acquired my loose figures of Leatherneck, Sgt. Slaughter, and Beach Head with my Triple T Tank, I put all 3 of those figures with the Triple T Tank so I have 3 of the G.I.Joe Drill Sergeants to whip my Joe's in shape!
The Joe's gunny, Gung-ho is badass but Leatherneck is a mean son of a....., great character, loved and hated by most, a great description of the Gunny during this video, always loved the interaction between him and Wet-Suit, a funny way to show the rivalry Marines vs Navy, thanks for the video, excellent job as always.
The Rotten Egg was actually a spotlight episode for leatherneck what's notable is the main antagonist of the episode " Buck Mccann" might have been a spin on the name of leathernecks voice actor " Chuck Mccann"
Ia it just me or do those 2 argue like an old married couple unresolved sexual tension wise. They way the other joes played up their relationship all will they or wont they(kiss) like in that serpentor themed episode from season 2 all my favorote things ( the one where leather neck made it his personal mission to bring back serpentors head on a pike and got poisoned by his pet snake ibstead reaulting in wetsuit hubting down serpentor to collect saud snakes venom for antidote to save leathernecks life (and presumably to also prove himself to leatherneck as well (seriousely people lgbt bromance wise the. Plot practically writes itself)
Do you know why Marines are called leathernecks? During the VERY early 18th century, Marines were fighting in the Barbary Coast of North Africa fighting pirates. The Marines found out that by making high collared leather guards on their uniforms protected them from getting their heads cut off by swords and the term stuck, much like the name jarheads refers to Marine hats or covers being so tight on their heads that they have to screw them on like lids on a jar Devil Dogs comes from Marine action in WW1 at the Battle of Belleau Wood in France where the Germans said that the Marines fight like devil dogs I don't think the Marines ever had the rack of "tech Sergeant, the Army did at one time as well as the Air Force but I don't think the Maries ever did Dustbin Lorry? 12:39 What the f*** are they doing going to nightclubs (and with dates!) dressed in their combat gear? lol Now this is the sort of thing that'd kill credibility for me.
15:48 Okay V4 of Leatherneck it looks nothing like Leatherneck. I've heard people say that Leatherneck V3 looks nothing like Leatherneck while Leatherneck V3 is a bad figure I feel it dose look like Leatherneck just in a stupid outfit. But with Leatherneck V4 If it weren't for seeing the name on the package I never would've guessed it was Leatherneck

One of the best characters of all time
Him and wetsuit always did love driving eachother bonkers with their friendly if vitriolic bbrotherly like rivalry they loved to fight
He was in the 2nd Marine Division, They were in WWII on Guadalcanal, Tarawa, and Tinian. On Tarawa they suffered heavy casualties from Japanese fire

I want powerhouse animation to make a brand new GI Joe animated series for Nickelodeon based on the Chuck Dixon Larry Hauma IDW comics
I can see that happening
I love that idea, we'll living in Springfield in no time, rubbing elbows with Cobra Commander.
The s!!t talking between Leatherneck and Wet Suit was one of my favorite parts of the cartoon!!!! Yo Joe!!!!
Oh i know right? They loved winding eachother up
If theres ome thing i cant stand its waiting
And if theres another thing incant stand its having to you to listen to you complaining about it ha

I loved how Wet Suit addressed him as “Leather Wreck” in “My Favorite Things” episode.

Don't mess with this marine or he will kick your ass. 😀👍
Wetsuit actually went on a date wearing his actual wet-suit.
Remember him growing up

I prefer Cartoon Leatherneck he's more developed there.
If 4:34 ain't a description of every Gunny you served under idk what is.
I like Gung ho better! But leatherneck was cool
quicksilver? dontcha mean quick kick?
I caught that. When Í heard Quiksilver, I thought it was a Joe I didn't know.
Leatherneck probably didn't like his date in Joes Night Out cause he was hoping to go out with a certain other Joe he's always on Missions with.
