- Everyone instantly recognizes the name Porsche these days and who wouldn’t want to own a Porsche?
But do you know about the story of the man the company is named after, Ferdinand Porsche? He was also associated hugely with Volkswagen and was the designer of the iconic Beetle look. Here’s his story.

In 1959 Chevrolet was developing the Corvair, a flat 6 cylinder 90 HP... 1960 it hit the streets.. Porsche was still a 4 banger about 35 HP.... Porsche had been experimenting with a flat 6, but couldn't solve the center cylinder cooling problem. Porsche eventually hired the GM engineer (former radial aircraft engine designer) to solve their problem and the 911 came out in 1965... So, next time you're driving your Porsche around and you see a Corvair, tip you hat to your grandpa...

Porsche's birth place is called Vratislavice in czech, in the north of today's Czech republic, (Maffensdorf in german) not Bratislava which is situated in Slovakia....

You missed the 901 that had to be changed to 911 because of Peugeot's patented on a zero in the middle of the three numbers or something like that..

The 911 was debuted in 1963 at the international automotive exhibition in Frankfurt. Production began in 1964.
But the car was still named 901, they switched to 911 when production started due to Peugeot's trademark rights

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas
station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel
pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in
the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems,
turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and
New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be
done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of
crime here, called emissions and smoke crime :-(!!

"Zero emission" goal in the EU is settled for 2050.
That’s why manufacturers are still allowed to produce ICE cars until 2035, as the statistic average life span of an UE produced car is 15 years…
Otherwise the final batches of cars leaving the factory up to 31/12/2035 would all have to be scrapped the next day, which would be a nonsense… Also, by extension, all (equally) ICE existing cars will be allowed to circulation along with the new ones from 2035, which means up to 2050… with probabily some more taxes and restritions as they are more pollutant…
If "2030" was to be the "zero emission" flat year, do you really believe all the millions of ICE cars still being produced and bought brand new right now, will have to be mandatorily scrapped within six/seven years?… Think a little bit…
Finally, all that is without mention about future sintetic/e-fuels to be used in existing ICE engines with "virtually" no emissions, which are (by now) at the "R & D" stage…
Not gonna happen, Harley ev have a range of 70 miles and it takes a hour for fast charge. Americans are spread out and have to drive everywhere. There's no place to charge, and you have EVs in Alaska charging from gas powered generators that rescued them 🤣

As a porsche owner in the usa i am sad to say it but mercedes is the king of sport/speed here, now in europe it is the opposite
Customer service is the absolute worst and dealers constantly try to evade service claims and constantly blame corporate, it is unacceptable and again opposite of europe rules, its a sad state of affairs here but until you visit another country you would never know, the porsche family aint part of the game any longer!!

This story is not true, Porsche was held in prison by France after telling the French how to improve the 4CV design saying they would pay Porsche and never did. He contracted pneumonia in the filthy prison and if not for a Priest coming to feed him he would have died in the prison from starvation and sickness. Ferry had to come up with a ransom to pay off the French who were very jealous of Porsche. He was treated cruelly on purpose hoping he would die. Don't try to rewrite history, tell the whole story!
