Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.... Nice to look at but if you seriously think they are worth it you are one of this fools potential clients. LOL.
Upon visiting w/ Manfred & touring the facility 13 yrs ago I was stunned by the breadth & scale of his long-term vision. Quite the accomplishment to successfully execute to such a high standard profitably. He is as he appears in the video; focused, practical, well-adjusted, a true businessman-enthusiast. Quite the team of mechanics & craftsman.
Me and my best friend have restored a few vehicles. He was taught to flow lead at a coach builder he worked at. One of the old timers taught him to do it cause he was ready to retire and my buddy is very good and smart so he took him under his wing. It's amazing to watch and so much better than just using filler which shrinks and cracks out. It is truly a sight to see and makes for a much better job.
Very impressive. It is one reason why I LOVE the German people. The people are dedicated to perfection. As a Porschephile it was exciting to see a warehouse of original parts. I would like to acknowledge the wisdom of the owner who founded his business niche so early on as the earlier model Porsches are a great investment. I personally prefer the original models of the Porsches up to 1998 as they were air cooled and these cars did not have the hydraulic or computer controlled assistants… This has probably been one of the best videos I have watched on TH-cam…
Mervellous video or review, I´m 68 years old, I´m a Porsche fan since, minimum 50 years ago mainly, the MEZGER air colled flat six´scars. I´m onwer of a 964 Carrera 4 from 1990, dark grey, with 89000 Kms on the clock, 3,6 l (250 cv) bought in 2001 and at the present day with 126000 kms, well mainteined with careful full service, every year and the car runs today, like new, solid, robust and a pleasure to drive,(I know the first owner). The Zuffenhausen cars are true masterpieces since the 356´s last century, until today. Thank you.
Amen Brother. I am from Namibia and worked for Porsche in Germany. From day one they made it very clear that quality is at the forefront. Hard working people from 7 till it`s done but, after work such beautiful, honest good friends and the finest humor ever. No, in your face phony BS. We work hard together and we enjoy life together and you are always welcome. The best years of my life. Also. Germany is absolutely beautiful. Stunning. Like living in a 3D post cart. 🖤❤💛

I was at VF-1 on the USS Ranger I worked on missile guidance systems on the F-14. Rocket Science... I never thought Id love something else. Made formula 1 look like a toy. I do have a passion for Porsche like nothin else back here on earth there just isnt anything else with the same winning philosophy and the same dedication to development and improvement. Porsche has the same attitude we had. I like that about them, they always find a way and when they do they crush it and nobody can touch it. Then like a real bosses they quit and let everyone catch up, then they do it again in another class with another car. They are just the best.
I can see the dedication they have to restore to original spec without cutting any corners. A+ This is why I am and always will be a Porsche enthusiast!
Incredible work of restoration. It is much more than just a car or a brand, it is the automotive history being preserved by these guys. One more time, magnificent work! Of course, has Porsche the most beautiful design ever? Yes, they do.
I think the art of restoration is wonderful!! Congratulations for the initiative of this important company!! However, there is the side of price inflation of these vehicles, even in a state of scrap, they became worth tens of thousands of dollars!! So it's sad that they disappeared from the dreams of people who don't have a mountain of money.... 😥
I wouldn't worry. 300K to 2M Euros. The people buying these can afford to LOSE that kind of money AND they most probably will when combustion engines are banned and these nice looking dinosaurs are no longer of interest. Classic foolishness. Rich people's wet dreams. Get a life - NO car is worth that money but well done the guy who has the business and can charge those sums.
@team3383 they will still be considered works of art and we will still be using the internal combustion engine in 50- 100 years if we are still around 😊
I was stationed in Germany back in late 70s. My captain was transferring back to the states, he was desperately trying to sell his car. It was an early 70s blue Targa, all he wanted was a $1000. Like we car guys always say, if only i knew the future.
Fantastic, I love the fact they they are totally faithful to the original new car so you get to go back in time and experience what it was like to drive one new over 50 years ago.
There is plenty of floor pans available on a 964 as they kept the same floor pan until the early 1990s. The issue is more to do with cost than lack of availability. It's a good thing a restored 911 is an appreciating asset as it somewhat justifies using donor cars to restore everything into one good car.
Waau I just loved this documentary. The standard is only perfection. I wish all new owners could respect their ownership accordingly. Actually a potential owner should pass an exam before being allowed ownership. Also the pass rate should be nothing less than 100%.
Oh my beautiful Box engine, you trill me with your distinctive sound, the way you splutter on a cold start, the way you sleep whilst driven on low rpm, the way you explode above 4k rpm with furious anger. Porsche you have enriched my life, life without my box engine will feel so strange ❤. Quintessential Porsche is that flat six or four engine sound!
I have three Porsches. A 85 Targa red, a 78 Targa white, a 76 912e. All were projects and I am turning 76 this year. Should I sell them in bulk to one buyer, separate buyers, restore and sell restored. They are all about 60-70% restored at this point. I’m looking for a strategy to deal with them. Another option is to finish them and give to my grown children as an inheritance. We live in California. All cars rust free. I’ve owned all for 30-40 years.
I had a brown car , not a Porsche but the colour had faded so I had it sprayed black. It looked better than the browb colour lol, but seems to suit the 911 shape not a boxy shape. But I'd love to restore a similar vehicle which was my 2nd car l ever brought but the vehicles are now rare as the UK weather is hard on older vehicles. It was a JDM vehicle, but can't remember the last time I saw one. But there's something about the 911 og shape that's simple and easy to live with but so faaaaaar out of my price range. Never mind l could always buy a booster off a hairdresser lol kidding. A touch out of sorts for filming continuity but still good on explaining what's removable, and returned to the restored shell.
I really enjoyed this video. Thanks. I am curious though. At 43:31 (plus or minus) the green targa 911 is presented. Is the front hood latch not completely engaged? If so, I bet the owner of Early 911s lost his mind when he saw that (or will now) as he seems very particular (which reminds me of myself). Not to mention the owner of the car - spoiler alert. My most favourite car model and era. Thanks for posting.
I was wondering how a California got so rusty but come to find out the former owner looked to have lived on a large lake so that explains the high amount of rust
Gunther Werks and Singer do exist. There are tons of places doing this to and equal condition or greater. "This Porsche is the one from the film" uh, you forgot to mention what film.
Joe, love all your reviews. Maybe just me. I like the color and hood ornament. Had several Mercedes over the years including an AMG S class. This car has no soul. Screens tacked on ugh. Rear seat HVAC controls standard on Toyota not here. After 5 years there will never be a time when everything works, even on the way home from your mechanic. Going to FB market to look for a W140.
i have owned a1986 wide body Porsche. From day 1 i had nothing but problems with the car. the soldered wing was a disaster. the lights going to it was micky moused in, die 24 volt alternator burned the main harness, the car caught fire under my dashboard. Lucky me I saved the car. The front wheel axle was bent, I'm glad I got rid of the car. what a piece of art. good luck with yours. For me never again.
I have the British version of a Porsche, an MGB. Simple to maintain, look as cool as a 911, but with more approachability from strangers who like your car and way less money and easily as fun to drive, with money left over for food, housing and entertainment.
This video makes me kick myself in the ass big time for the 911s I passed up when they were 5,000.00 and ran. I turned down a 1981 brown 911 I could have gotten for 8,000. This car evidently had broken cylinder head studs and leaked more oil than was stored in the crankcase. Plus, someone took the original white cotton head liner and sprayed it dark brown. What a gross addition! If you have the experience dropping a VW bug engine, you can drop a 911 Boxer engine just as well. Now the gaskets can be changed easily and the heads pulled for inspection, if necessary. I made the mistake of buying a 944 from a friend. These cars are no more inexpensive to repair than 911s and they are such loads of iron compared to a 911. They are so slow out of the hole, it makes you want to open the driver's door and help the car along by scootering it. I have had my share of patching up undercarriages of MGs. What fun repairing rust! Buying a 911 is difficult because all the mechanical parts are interchangeable, and the average Joe has no idea what they are spending their money on.
Exceptional resto's, no cutting corners here and worth every penny. Well done! Love 'em.

I’ve used solder on the Mark One Ford Capri when replacing a damaged rear wing, at Tenby Garages a life time ago.
This company is using tin, I thought I heard.
I just love the 911 classic cars! They look the best and the cutest sport car with all kinds of color in the world.
The original 911 (901 & 912) is the best Porsche 911 ever. Love the look, it's timeless to me.
Very impressive. It is one reason why I LOVE the German people. The people are dedicated to perfection. As a Porschephile it was exciting to see a warehouse of original parts.

I'll second that!👍
Amazing. Porsche is truly the pinnacle of automobile performance and efficiency. Great video and thanks for sharing.
Amazing documentary very well done
As a car enthusiast, I hope to own this piece of classic history
Dream on
❤ Love the reborn of good old Porsches. These guys are perfect on their work..Respect

Matt. You are now so good at this. You are a natural. Thank you for producing such interesting and stimulating content.
To be this dedicated because of the love of a car is wonderful. So many master crafts are being lost with “modernisation”
This car looks incredible! That scenery makes it even more beautiful.

Porsche 911 is the definition of success for me. If I can afford one that means I succeed.
I have one, NOT sure if im successful

A touching video
Thank you for making and uploading

Very nice documentary on an incredible subject. Well done. Now do one on that home/showroom, please.
Fantastic, I love the fact they they are totally faithful to the original new car so you get to go back in time and experience what it was like to drive one new over 50 years ago.
It’s called being friendly to the environment. Keeping old cars breathing. 👌🏿
fantastic content. thank you for sharing. have a nice day!❤👍
Unbelieveable - perfectionists !
I agree with you Tom the best car in your present collection. I like the sound of that suspension upgrade planned. Would be lovely to drive 👌👏
Oh I love the 911’s !!!❤
This man is a F'n Genius!!! My hats off to ya 👍.... Now that's using the Ole Noggin ...

"not a profit- or efficiency-oriented business": the best joke I've heard this year
This is so much better than wide-body cosmetic Porsche
Awesome documentary 😊😊

Porsche Classic Factory Restoration facility based in the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta?
Notice how they refer to the restoration guys are as "Specialists"....? Yes, these guys truly are that.
His litterally the reason, why you can't get a cheap 911, anymore.
43:30 Anxiety alert-Irish Green 911 hood is up with only the secondary latch holding it from a pop open during the test drive.

I thought me and my buddies hoarded lots of air-cooled 911's 😅 - very cool shop and operation!!

at 0:42 is this 'tinning' done as a substitute for bondo type filler? no bono used anywhere?
yes indeed
Ha Ha I don't think nowadays they would have "S-UX" on the license plate. Great video.

😂😢😢
1000 hours for a restoration is fast.
Germany’s tech should be the best and detail originated one in the world!
Japanese better they don’t break down.
Does anyone else wonder about the hood fit on the green one? Is that pre-restoration or post?
Do these vehicles get rusty over time or are they just ageless? I most certainly cannot afford one but i would go all out if i could.

i have owned a1986 wide body Porsche.
Boa noite a todos.
