I’ve been working on a JRPG I’ve been planning on bringing to life for a while now. This video is a HUGE help for designing my turn based battle system. I didn’t want to just copy something like pokemon or FF7 because I have some different “unique” parts of my system. So thank you for the quick rundown to give me a hand getting started with the maths to make things feel smooth in the battles
I'm also using the division method, but I have a weird situation where my stats have a cap of 100, so the power of the moves is what had to scale up and down.
The Yotes Team went all out on this one, redoing it week after week all month to make some quality content, so give it a like to make our poor editor's day, will ya? 😜
1:56 "Where attack and defense are scaled inconsistently"? That's what I hear, but the subtitles say "where attack and defends are scaled and consistently" (not the autogenerated subs).
Glad you guys liked the video! I spent the past month editing it, but it was worth it.

You're the exact viewer we had in mind while making this. Glad to be of service! ☑
wow! I'm impressed. Great stuff. I remember when one of you was asking about combat systems on Ed's secret dev channel

Interesting choice.🤔
Very helpful. Division formula is cool.
Editing is also great.
Thanks :3:3:3:3:3:3:
the new age.

Yeah I don't like the substraction method. If your ATK is lower than the enemy DEF you don't do damage.
Division is much better.

Oops. Yeah, that's an uncaught typo. We use an auto-generator for subtitles and manually fix mistakes before locking in the srt file and translating.
