You can install front panel header inside the case so you do not get the error. Also you can keep the dell switch inside the case, splice the front led and power switch wires to the dell wires and you will not get those errors.
So, you don't have to cut away the plastic around the front panel connectors. You can literally take a pair of pliers and pull it off the board. You can also use dummy connectors to bypass all errors from the post screen.

On the note of not having USB3.0. There are some PCI-e solutions that allow you to run the 20pin USB3.0 into as a separate PCI-e card which will enable front USB3.0 and at times give you additional rear USB3.0 ports.
yo i wanna build this pc it seems amazing for the price but there’s a bunch of adapters. do i have to buy all the adapters separately or do they come with each part?
Yes, I bought the psu to and it wont connect to the hard drive that came with the old 790 i7 2600 that I bought. So don't buy the psu he has in the description.
I got away with stuffing it all back in the original case with a little Dremel Tool modification on the case latch. 750 watt RaidMax PSU Upgraded CPU cooling fan 750 GB SSD for Windows 7 Ultimate 1TB hard drive 16 GB RAM i7 2600 3.40GHz ASUS GTX 1660 OC 6GB Started with an Optiplex 990 I bought used for $250.
Some of the steps seen here was good reason I didn't bother doing these types of case swaps (proprietary components). I love the idea that this basically is recycling an older system that's still perfect for use and plenty workstation potential. I tried doing same thing here with an HP motherboard and could not use audio and front USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports which was a deal breaker for me. I want to make sure it ALL functions. The work around is purchasing a USB hub to expand port count from the board to get back what can't be used in the front, and the ability to add a beefy GPU for budget gaming! I did the opposite and recently bought an optiplex. I swapped out the hardrive for an SSD, and bought an LP graphics card to fit in case. Love these little optiplex machines!
plug the front I/O panel from dell case in and tuck it somewhere in case, and put a jumper on the two pins next to where power switch plugs in to get rid of those warnings and boot normal
Initially I thought tempered glass would be an immense waste of money for a budget build, but you're 2 steps ahead, using acrylic. Well played, and good video.
@@lachieplays8002 Very much agreed, acrylic is only useful for those who have a tight budget and want the "gamer" look, the exact audience for this video. I currently have an NZXT s340 case, the acrylic side panel is riddled with scratches. EDIT: Not only is the case extremely unnecessary and prone to scratches, but those $30 could be spent far better on an SSD for a boot drive (60 - 120 gb). Same applies for the RGB.
This video helped me out so much I built mine but I just need a power cable to go from the graphics card to the monitor so I have to order that then I can play fortnite thank you Tech Yesterday
You can create your own front I/O adapters. Purchase 2.0mm pitch to 2.54mm pitch dupont wires and look up the pin outs of the front headers on google. I bought the HiLetgo 200pcs/5x40pcs Breadboard Jumper Wires Dupont Wire kit on amazon for 7 bucks and I was able to adapt two Dell Precision T1650 into gaming cases.
@9:53 turn the fans 180 degrees so that the cables are closer to the motherboard tray and so that they run along the bottom of the case. you also would do this so that you cant see them as much so better cable management.
Video is good. My problem with some things. You should first loosen the board screws and then take the board out, after which it is easier to take down the cooler and the memory. And then reassemble outside. The memories are not in dual channel mode. Too much thermal paste. And the fan below makes no sense, there is no hole. And if there was a hole for the fan, it would suck air out of the tower and not blow it in.
Thanks for the tutorial about this video and this video is very helpful👍😁. Can you do a HP Compaq Upgrades and Full case swap just like this? Thanks again😊

The design of the front panel of this case made me say WTF! ZERO airflow in the front.
There are vents at the side of the case, almost no case has airflow straight in at the front.
@@Infinity9_ Mine does, but then again, its an old Cooler Master HAF series
Infinity Playz all cap
glass/acrylic front panel cases get intake from the gap between the actual front panel and the fans, and in this one is actually not bad

I'm saving up to get a i5 2400 with rx 570 I told all my friends about this PC and one of them is buying one to . They can't believe that a PC that cost 200-250 can run over 100 fps
Buy optiplex 990 with I7 2600 and put there rx 580 sapphire pulse nitro+
@@atmos6451 I don't have that much money only have about 30 right now but around next year I'm going to get the it 2400 rx570
This video. Is awesome. I have done a number of optiplex swaps now and still refer to this. Thanks..
Thanks for the video. Had same Dell computer and wanted to transfer to gaming case but couldn't figure out the power switch. Great video 👍
Dope , I can’t do my 7050 MT 💔😓 because of the 24 pin to 6 pin mb power cable
Just get an adapter to 6 pin to 24 pin adapter I had the same problems but not any more after I got the adapter
Or a second hand motherboard of eBay with a 24 pin
Without cutting a hole in the bottom of the case, the last RGB fan is pointless. The GPU will overheat in mins while gaming.
foxbox19 what should yo do then so it won’t overheat?
@@znmbie An RX 570 is good for that case. I would choose a larger case if you go with a RX 580 or 590.

I must say Im gonna follow this video for pc flipping but small tip the converter usb cable wasnt in the list, maybe put a list of everything in the beginning? A lot of beginners are gonna try this so it would be nice to give some more details :)
Hey, I installed my thermal sensors but the fans are still very loud. Any solutions?
Plug in the dell fron panel, and shuld be fine.
Can I get and motherboard splitter or can I get a new link his don’t work also can I put a gigabytes of ram instead of 4 just 2x4?
Just a theory, but two ways to handle the front panel connector.
1. Transplant power switch and LED from Dell case to new cut out on gaming case.
2. Find the Dell mother board connector pin out and splice it into the new gaming case front panel.
Can you make a video on a 500$ gaming pc, it's mid range and alot of people would love to see it ♥️

You can use Harbin Repair’s front panel adapters, they cost about 18 bucks and they probably have the adapter for your specific Optiplex.
noooo I was so happy to see the video, but the RAM just killed it...no dual channel but still good vid tho
I remember doing this about a year ago and I couldn't get the lower switch cable to fit lol. But after awhile I just jammed it hard in and it worked without cutting it lol
Does it still work? No hard frame drops?

Would it be ok if I used a Dell Optiplex 9010 Intel Core i7-3770 instead of the 990 i7-2600?
I found a great deal on that one and I was wondering if I could use that instead and still be able to follow this build guide exactly
Thank you and I'm so happy this video finally got uploaded! :)
The i7-2600 have a different socket u can't put CPU from another generation

On the note of not having USB3.0. There are some PCI-e solutions that allow you to run the 20pin USB3.0 into as a separate PCI-e card which will enable front USB3.0 and at times give you additional rear USB3.0 ports.
do u need to buy any cables to do this?

Use jumpers instead of breaking the conector on pin 3, and 4 in the power button and connect the power switch connectors to pin 1, and 2
Btw I don’t reccommend those cheap psus on ebay

@@techyesterday4960 what do I do instead
pls answer so I don't make the same mistake
btw I want 16gb ram in total in mine
Love these little optiplex machines!
can you please do a full tutorial on how to build it with the original optiplex case. i would literlaly love you if you did that!
plug the front I/O panel from dell case in and tuck it somewhere in case, and put a jumper on the two pins next to where power switch plugs in to get rid of those warnings and boot normal
@jack pierce will the io warning go if a I plug it into the 9pin to dual 9 pin extension
Initially I thought tempered glass would be an immense waste of money for a budget build, but you're 2 steps ahead, using acrylic. Well played, and good video.
Just a tip acrylic scratches very eazy so probly not the best idea for long term.
@@lachieplays8002 I have been very careful with mine and already have a few scratches just doing the build.
This video helped me out so much I built mine but I just need a power cable to go from the graphics card to the monitor so I have to order that then I can play fortnite thank you Tech Yesterday
Mr- Paddle can you make a video on how your pc turned out or message me a video
Twitch Senseizerk ok I have it running right now it’s great
You can create your own front I/O adapters. Purchase 2.0mm pitch to 2.54mm pitch dupont wires and look up the pin outs of the front headers on google. I bought the HiLetgo 200pcs/5x40pcs Breadboard Jumper Wires Dupont Wire kit on amazon for 7 bucks and I was able to adapt two Dell Precision T1650 into gaming cases.
smort boy. but its easier the other way. in a type of way...
i have dell oprtiplex 990 mother board and i think is better use a atx case and not micro atx . greetings from colombia.
FANTASTIC VIDEO!!!! Thank you so so much!!!!
Also can you eventually do a guide on how to install an ssd on this build? i think a lot of people would like to see that.
you would just need to pull a sata cable from the psu and mount it with screws if you wanted
Yeah, hopefully he makes one
my favourite part is those ditorted sounds in the music
besides a bit (like a lot) to much thermal paste, and having ram in slots 3 and 4 and later changing to 1 and 2 it was a really good video, enjoyed it a lot, thumbs up from me pal
