This wonderful tip still works in 2019. I even made an unboxing for the console and controller if anyone is curious. This video gave me an idea to look inside that part of the controller and I noticed there was some corrosion on one of the contacts on one side. So I dipped a Q-tip in alcohol and rubbed it and then I flipped the metal strips up like he said. The corrosion didn't come off but the controller worked and all the batteries that wasn't working was now operational. I was just about to buy a new controller with a new charge pack; so I appreciate this video🎮
this hit the nail on the head. i cant believe i didnt think to try this. lol, duh, heat and pressure over time warped the little contacts, leaving them pressed down and no longer making contact with the battery. thank you for the video.
You could easily use a charging cable to know if your controller works or not. Why say it doesn't work? I really thought you already tried everything and then found a way to revive the controller -.-"

Sometimes I use my brothers Xbox 360 and when I’m playing MW2, Minecraft or fifa the rechargeable battery pak would move a bit and the controller would turn off
I used a paint can opening tool and the curved edge slid under the steel contact strips which made it really easy to bend them up. I had to bend them up quite a ways to make contact with the battery but this work great. Thank you for the solution!
See mine just does that the glowing,nothing else had batteries burst I cleaned them but Nada what do I do I don't wan a pay for a new one unless I have to last resort.
Hello, I have a wireless controller and have tried literally everything except taking it apart (including the paper in the tiny hole, switching batteries, pulling the metal thingy in the bottom of the battery pack up, cleaning the little springs) and it just isn't turning on no matter how long or hard I press it or anything. Here in Brazil these cost around 300-450 to buy and I don't got that amount of money laying around lol. Maybe someone in the comments section has a suggestion I haven't tried? Thanks, sorry for the long comment.
My pack don't open i just took a flat head to it and in my rage broke it thankfully I thought ahead and before missing with it bought. A non rechargeable pack

My issue was there was corrosion in the steel tabs, not the positioning of them. Scratched the corrossion off and working great now!
