Brilliant thanks 😊 👍 please continue with your photos I have sparrow hawk in my garden quite often in grab go 5 months ago I found kingfisher nest on my second visit I slipped and fractured L2 vertebra in my back not been able to get to my river since You must be very careful when you are out on your adventures you are my absolute favorite on TH-cam please keep up excellent work a big thank you 😊
I'm smiling from ear to ear. It's such a wonderful feeling to capture what you are after. Great video. I will do one one day nice happy snapping Trond.
I enjoyed the entire experience with you, Trond. The pouring rain. The birds not coming in. And then the beautiful photographs. All of them were world class and it would be hard to pick a favorite, but that first shot of the little wren really was a great composition and excellent exposure.
Hi Trond WOW sometimes you watch something and your lost for words this was one of those times the images were something else especially the the Sparrowhawk taking of from the perch also the Blue Jay in flight, the time you spent in that hide was more than worth it. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend.
Wow always reminds me when I see a Sparrow Hawk, of how one landed in our Apple tree at the bottom of my Garden ! Ten minutes after I had just put my brand new Sigma 500 mm f4 lens on to try it ! Well it is the sort of luck required to photograph one of these beauties ! Only captured it in the tree preening, marvelous to have it in an open position like that Trond ! Awesome 😍
Trond, I know you were there for the sparrowhawk, but I loved your jay & magpie pictures too. What a beautiful location for a hide! Superb video as always. Thank you.
Hello Trond, that was a very nice video from you and a very nice area there for this kind of photography. And stunning shots from the birds. Thank you regards from Marco.
Great video as usual. I can only recommend Leiv Arne Åksets hides! Stayed there for a couple of days the same week as you and are coming back next week. So excited to see if the sparrow hawk comes by :-)
So lucky to have you take us on your ventures, stunning birds and images Trond, thank you. My next trip is to Bosque del Apache in New Mexico for SnowGeese Canadian Geese and Sandhill Cranes among many others, you have just boosted my anxiety to get started but not cold enough yet, another 6 weeks for prime time.
Amazing video as always Trond! Been myself wondering about booking a trip at Leiv's hide this last year, might give it a go next autumn and take the trip down from Bergen!
Hi Trond ,I always enjoy your videos. It's great to see your excitement as you patiently wait and then it finally pays off! All of us wildlife photographers know the feeling! Beautiful photography as always Trond. I have a big question for you sir? Are you totally using mirrorless Z9 now? Did you part ways with your D500 and D4s ? Just wondering cuz I also have the Z9 and I'm finding it very difficult to get rid of my D4s but I feel that the mirrorless is the new Era. You are definitely inspiration to all of us and I highly value your thoughts. Thank you Trond.
@@trondwestby Oh i see.. so, you put the bait for the little birds to come in, then naturally the Sparrow Hawks will eventually come and check the little birds.. thank you, i'm starting to learn how bait photography works.
Is anyone else bothered by the spreading of seeds to attract small birds to a specific spot so that the sparrowhawk can more easily hunt them? So that photographers can get a photo? Providing food to attract an animal to be photographed is one thing. But doing so to use the animal as bait is IMO quite another.
Superb Magpie and Jay shots, let alone the Sparrowhawk. Beautiful 👌👍

Tusen takk Pål! Hyggelig at du likte den.
Another exciting episode. Btw, did anyone notice the RED? Interesting to know how it handles with wildlife.
Thank you Alberto!

What is the bait you use for the Sparrow hawk this time, do you still use roadkill?
No bait. The sparrowhawk do not take roadkill. They are in the area natural to hunt the jay and magpie.

It's a Female Sparrowhawk not a Male 👍
