I love using the floating blind to get that low eye level perspective. And you never know what surprises you. I went out in hope of great crested grebe courtship. Witch I got in great back light. And suddenly I came close to a beautiful lapwing male.
I was luck to have nikon send me the new Z 600mm f4 TC lense, to test out a month. And I already fallen in love with it :)
It is so nice with the build in teleconverter. Together with the nikon z9, its a killer combo.
The floating blind I use is from tragopan: tragopan-shop.com/gb/floating...

I love it. Even though it is sometimes overproduced, it is very very nice time to spend time watching your videos.
Great video Trond, thank you very much!
I love your floating hide, grand idea!!!!
Perfect video vlog Trond👍👍. I like watching your little adventures. It looks very interesting to photographing animals from the water photoblind. Because I don't have experience with that kind of photography. It had to be a cold if you spend some time in the water🙂. Best regards Ondrej 😉
Thanks for sharing another wonderful video like always, so many beautiful birds and a very kool photography device 🐦👍🤗
Thank you Miguel! Appreciate your kind words :)
Beautiful Photography and Video as usual.

Чибис, шикарный :) у меня он есть в полёте, прям орёл :).... Шикарные снимки :)

Great video footage, well done and thank you for sharing.
This was a great video. Too cold for me! Glad to see that you've become widely recognized as a wildlife photographer and are getting to try out top equipment.
Thanks a lot Kevin! Much appreciated :)

Awesome content! What a joy to watch. Thanks for taking me along!
Nice work, that lens looks good and you did well to keep it out of the water!
Thank you Alan! Its awesome :)
Absolutely beautiful ❤
You certainly go to extreme lengths to get images Trond and what stunning images they are too 👌👍
Thanks Garry! :)
Thank you for posting this great adventure, Trond. I can only imagine what a fine experience it was photographing those birds from the floating blind. You made some really beautiful images. I'm looking forward to hearing more about that 600mm lens you were using, too. Especially the weight of the lens. My 500mm f/4 G lens weighs 8.6 pounds and I'm getting to the age where I can barely work with it. Looking forward to your Svalbard trip, too.
Wow~ great!
Beautiful to get the Great crested grebe courtship from water level 😍
Thanks for the comment!
Absolutely stunning video once again Trond :)
Good job :D
Thanks buddy! Great you liked it.

Wow....thanks Ian :)
Hello Trond, awesome skill to capture a great selection of photographs. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
Thank you so much Malcom!
Fantastic photos.
Thank you!
Thanks for the inspiration again Trond, great video.
I am a bit confused about the whole floating blind concept though. I came into bird photography from fly fishing and I have been using inflatable pontoons for quite a while now. The one I am using now has ample room for to lie on it without touching the water, which means a lower profile. Besides I use a remote controlled electric motor to propel me or keep me still, even in windy conditions. I think this should be a great asset for on-water bird photography. The traditional floating blinds are actually quite limited compared to the floating devices we use for fly fishing. You should check them out. I can give you some pointers if it interests you.
Nice Video Trond! Floating blind is my favorite way of wildlife photography. I built my own way before the commercial solutions appeared in the market.
Beautiful photo’s and video 👍😇❤️
Thanks a lot buddy!
Awesome video Trond. You are one of the few lucky photographers to be shooting a 600mm tc. Congrats. Maybe you’ll talk about the 600mm tc in an up coming video.
Thank you so much! Its really nice lense indeed. I might do that :)
Great video Trond, hard making videos from a floating hide but it’s so fun being out on the water! Well done buddy!
Thank you so much Andy! :)
I really liked those lapwings. I hope I spelled that right. The grebes are nice, too. I’m hoping to photograph some of them myself this next week. But, I don’t think we have lapwings in my area. You’re still a great inspiration. Keep up the good work.
You definitely put a lot of work to get those beautiful images, it clearly isn't good luck, like many say
Great video, what is the drysuit brand you wear Trond?
Thank you! I am not sure....but its not good. Easy to break :(
I've really enjoyed your video's and am looking to get into Wildlife phtography but wanna save up for a sigma 150-600 and 1dx or 5d Mark IV
Nice work Trond, I love battling the elements and it looked like you were too. The water soon sucks the warmth from your body!! Great shots of the Grebes 👌🏼. What do you use to record the EVF footage?
Hello Sir, I'm Kalpak
Amazing photos as always. Which was the bird with black back and white head?
Thank you Kalpak!Wagtail :)

Great photos , I have been spending the last few days taking shots of Lapwings and their young at a nearby flooded field. I struggle to get shots with clear background as it is a rough field and chicks going through grass. Do you use auto iso on shots with manual settings. Keep the videos coming, the subjects are so alike to what I am shooting here in the North East of Scotland.
