- I'm back to doing weird challenges in endless mode. This time, if I collect a single coin, then the run is completely over. Normal definitely steps it up when it comes to this challenge. Very interesting how it will be with Expert and Super Expert difficulties.

There is a way to make levels like this using overlapping launchers with the coins, but it being an actual condition would be neat.
I mean, if they make it so that you can collect a checkpoint if you have the condition when you reach it, anyway.

I was weirdly excited by that first level "ooh he has to hit the p-switch, but it will make a load of coins appear, he'll have to tactically destr- oh. Oh. He just cancelled the puzzle.."
I feel like Ray's way of doing this challenge was really fun. The run ends if the coin counter resets. So you lose if you collect 100 coins total, since the counter keeps going between levels. Also lets you "tank" some coins for safety or convenience.
That's a really good concept, anything that makes decisions carry over between levels makes for interesting gameplay.
Yeah, this sounds very interesting. Also has the benefit of not ending your entire run because of a random kaizo block.

Nintendo needs to make a clear condition where it’s just reach the goal after collecting 0 coins.

He needs to do a stream and set a timer for 60 minutes and then see how many levels he can clear at each difficulty.

28:24 I don't think that was a Kaizo block, because you weren't in danger of dying. I think the point was to use it as a platform to reach the Cat Suit. However, it's still dooming for a coinless run.
New idea. Every time you collect a coin you have to start over the level. That way you have a buffer of lives.

1:00 I think the play would have been to destroy almost all of the yellow blocks under the p-switch, and then jump up and hit the p-switch that way you have a pretty much clear way down :P

This is one of the few things where making the difficulty easier makes it harder
About "collect x coins" level maybe you could simply try to beat them without picking a single coin and skip it after reaching the flag pole, it would be funnier since most of level you can beat are coinless or with very few coins
it would be better if he collected the required coins (red or collect x) but not a single coin more

Do the endless easy run but if you touch a coin you lose a life and skip to the next level. If you get an impossible level so be it, so every life will count and it'll be more tense and more fun. So you go skipless and see how far you can get. Good vid chief 😁

For the coinless runs, how about if there is a level that has a win condition involving collecting coins, you can collect the amount of coins needed, but not a single coin more. And that applies to key coins as well. If you need key coins to open a door, you can collect only those coins. I think that would make things more reasonable.

The level from the thumbnail is made for a no-coin run.
I feel like if you get a coin in a level you should still complete the level but you can end the run after, that way you at least clear it
I would like to see a no check point run
What about if you collect a coin you lose like 10 lives. That way runs that are just starting end, but longer runs can bank a hit or two
Make the next run an even or odd coin run. If you choose even, you need to have an even coin count when you beat the level. If you choose odd, an odd coin count. Start the run over if you fail.
