I remember when I did an apprenticeship in 2002 to 2006, we had skoda Felicias in that company. On countryside we drove that Felicias like rally cars. They were so cheaply made and the spare parts were so cheap that nobody really cared. It was really a lot of fun and I can tell you these things where reliable... we sometimes jumped over little hills on forest streets - no broken parts. This Fabia is the complete opposit. It's so expensive I would have to baby it and for that price there are a lot of alternatives so I am not sure if it would not be better for skoda to stick to it's roots but time will tell...

Felicia was a great little car, Reliable, comfortable, economic to buy and run, a pleasure to drive and very solidly built. I had two and one of the previous very similar Favorit model, and drove them all over Europe, mostly for business reasons, doing well over 250,000 km in 9 years. I once did a trip from Gibraltar to England with just one overnight stop in Bordeaux. Not a hiccup! Not bad for a little car with a simple 1.3 engine.

my father still have the felicia 95 model with 1.3 engine...often i use it when i need to go to work...198km and its smooth like when it was new...when my co workers get in the car they cant believe how good is on the road how smooth for his age and for the price category it was!

I wish. It's a bit far from where I live. Funny thing I realised during this launch event: going to the Polish seaside to film the car with sea in the background is pointless. It's better to focus on architecture. The stock footage provided by Skoda is very good, but misses some cool places I found, so next time I'm there, I'm going to get some nice buildings in the background, I hope.

I don't understand all those complains about new fabia being overpriced. Yes previous generation was cheaper, but at the same time it was smaller car and with less equipment as standard. If you compare previous generation with the same specification as new generation you will discover that increase in price actualy isn't that big. They just decided that they won't offer it anymore completely bare bone, just to keep base price look appealing like for example dacia with new sandero where for base price you don't even get front and rear bumper painted, almost no one buy such cars anyway. And saying that Jazz is a better deal ? Yes maybe if you really want hybrid but otherwise... In Czech republic new Fabia with 1.0 TSI 70KW starts at 66000 PLN and Jazz with similar power starts at 90000 PLN, that's more than Kamiq, Scala and basically the same as starting price of new Octavia....

Kinda get why their prices are getting more expensive. They’ve been building the brand for a long time and frankly they’re not lacking compared to cars that previously were more expensive. • @MarekDrives

Prices are going up due to emission and safety regulations. There's just much more kit that needs to be installed on a new car as standard. Also there's more margin to be made from cars with more kit. You don't want to be competing against Dacia, because there's no money there.
