      I so Marek videos 2 years ago. Now Marek is more criticised. Compared to old Suzuki Swift this has much better insolation and much lighter stearing plus much better Navigation and also much better fresh look design. Marek, sorry! This time You are wrong! All sistems are made by Continental pe Bosch or other companiei and they have licence and STAS for safety. The sistems are same for all vehicles.

    "No longer cheap" What car is. Here in the UK , when you consider that all cars are over priced the Swift at 18k isn't too bad. Unlike a lot of cars I could mention it has plenty of standard kit and will prove to be very reliable.

      Well, they are and they aren't. As they don't really court company car drivers, Suzuki offer big discounts on their cars if you know where to shop. You can get the top-of-the-range allgrip for under £18k. That's a heck of a lot of car for that money.

    Previous gen was such a cool car, at the begining. Especially when it had a choice of two engines. Then they took the good engine out with automatic transmission. Later they reduced the power of the 1.2. Now they made a new car that someone beat with an ugly stick and still a weak engine. Its almost like they don't want to sell the car so they are just making it worse and worse.

    I had high hopes for the new Swift but it doesn't live up to expectations. A weak engine & performance plus mandatory EU electronic aids ruin the car. Looks like my next car will be pre-2024! Anything to reduce the amount of interference with real driving.

    I’ve owned a number of cars in my life: Toyota Camry V6, Elantra GT, Mitsubishi Outlander and Outlander Sport, Toyota Yaris, Mazda 3… but out of all of those, my favorite car has to be my 2009 Suzuki Swift (not the Sport, but top of the line specs with a 1.3L), which I still own and can’t bring myself to sell because it has been so great. It has so much heart and soul! It might not be the fanciest car out there, but it is by far the most reliable car I’ve owned. Besides regular brake, suspension, and oil maintenance, I haven’t had one problem with it in 15 years. That being said, I think this new Swift’s quality/reliability and “fun factor” will be nowhere near the level of my 2009 Swift. But I cannot blame Suzuki entirely for this. Most of the crap technology they’ve put into this car is because of draconian EU regulations that have nothing to do with reality, and I’m sad to say, have ulterior motives behind them. Suzuki has always tried to keep costs down for consumers, so that is probably the reason behind this ISA deactivation nightmare. My guess is that they will update the deactivation option in the coming years and make it much more simple to turn on/off (unless our wonderful EU technocrats decide to make that option illegal). At the end of the day, with all of these regulation requirements, I still think that Suzuki is still making more reliable cars than most other automakers at a price that is still a good deal. Now if only Suzuki would get rid of their Jatco CVT for the Swift and start using Toyota’s Aisin CVT with the physical first gear, then things would really become interesting… 🧐🤔😎

    • @MarekDrivesENG
      @MarekDrivesENG  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yeah, it depends on where and when you start counting.
      Generations 1-3 were also known as Suzuki Cultus, Metro Geo and Chevrolet Sprint. The fist Ignis was sold in Japan as Swift, and the car you know from 2004 was in fact the fourth generation. In 2010 Suzuki launched the fifth generation, and the third euro generation was the global fourth. Or something :)

  • @Rapscallion2009
    @Rapscallion2009 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I would say this isn't a new mark of swift. It's a heavy revision of the old one. Less "MK4" and more "MK3.5". I do think the stock 80-odd BHP is a bit shy - I was driving cars like that in the early 90's. TBH I would be fine for general driving around.
    With that said, each one comes with lashing of kit (which you'll either like, or not) and a (sorta) hybrid power-chain. So you can see they put the budget into that and not into completely redesigning the bones of the car.
    The allgrip is an interesting prospect if you live somewhere with frequent icy conditions.

    • @MarekDrivesENG
      @MarekDrivesENG  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      All the standard kit and MHEV is mandatory for safety and emissions. I wouldn't mind them calling it a facelift, as long as some of the safety stuff was easy to turn off. Or if they invested the money in making it good. But it's neither.

    It's a shame that ISA and the other driving aids are a problem, because the Swift ticks quite a few boxes for me. Separate HVAC controls and decent rear space are a surprise, and I like having an analog tachometer.
    I don't think I would mind it being a little bit underpowered given it comes as a manual and being a Suzuki I can thrash it like it's a rental car and it'll be fine. The thing is I could do the same with the previous generation and not have to deal with ISA :-|

    On paper the K10C 1.0 3cyl Turbo should be stronger with 109hp and 170nm. You could say it's slower outside of the turbo range but in my experience this is where the, albeit weaker 12V, hybrid shines by adding roughly 2-3hp.

    • @miskatonic6210
      @miskatonic6210 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "Should be stronger"? You know engines don't last when you press a lot of HP out of them?
      It's a lot smarter to buy a 3cyl Turbo that doesn't stretch boundaries or you will end up with an engine giving up after 50k kilometers...
      Every customer crying for more HP in 3cyl cars will lead to less useful cars for everybody. 90 HP is more than enough in a lightweight small car.

      @@codincoman90192 things: 1) I guess you never owned a Japanese made car? Let me show you the downsides: components are not compliant with EU aftermarket parts. For example: for Renault,Citroen, VW, you have numerous parts to choose from. For Swift you don't and every part is at least twice the price. A simple fuse, battery, bolts, brakes, etc, twice the price of normal European parts...
      2) Japanese cars used to be more reliable simply because they were using less sophisticated components. Simple is reliable. That's not the case with the new Swift. It has all the complicated systems as other cars have.

    • @codincoman9019
      @codincoman9019 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TeoSluga, you are laughably wrong.
      1) I had a 1.3 Swift from 2010 to 2021 and it was excellent. For an almost identical period I had a Honda Civic Sport, also very good.
      I currently drive a Miata ND2 RF G-184 and a Suzuki Jimny LCV 4x4. My wife drives a Lexus hybrid F Sport.
      Living in Europe, I can tell you that you lie: parts are cheaper or similarly priced vs. the comparable European brands.
      Other than Porsche and Bring My Wallet, the Top 10 Reliability belongs to the Japanese top brands. As for the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), the lowest ranking belongs to Japanese cars too.
      You can buy VAG, Renault or Stellantis clunkers, I shall continue to buy the top Japanese cars, leaders of their segments.
      Your assumption proved to be at least silly;
      2) I agree that the Japanese cars were simpler before, but the same intrusive tech is forced on manufacturers by the stupid "green" regulations made up by the "eco"-Marxist globalist-owned governments, especially in the EU.
      So blame your government and EU neo-Marxists, not the manufacturers that are forced to comply in order to be able to sell their cars.
      Btw, you know very little about cars and you do not debate with facts/statistics, but with your feelings (that seem to cheat you), making you a loser.
      Next time you try to sound like an expert, just imagine that you may bump into professionals - I have managed numerous fleets of hundreds of cars, ranging from European brands like VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat (VAG), Peugeot, Citroen (Stellantis, ex-PSA), Renault, Dacia etc. to the lower TCO, higher reliability, longevity - thus higher resale value - Japanese top brands (Lexus, Toyota, Mazda, Subaru, Suzuki, Honda, Mitsubishi).
      I'm sorry that I liked your first comment that was correct.

    You surpass at calling out these lazy manufacturers for what they are. No vents, no arm rest, backwards step with the door handles, tedious electronics etc etc. What a load of guff Suzuki

    1. It's ugly.
    2. Turning off ISA is a nightmare.

    An overpriced piece of junk 😝
    It has a weak powerplant and it looks worst than it's previous generation.
    Mild Hybrid is a marketing lie ! It's not a Hybrid car as it might have a 48V alternator but there is no electric engine ehich powers the wheels, so it is not a Hybrid car.
