    Love this recipe. Quite like the idea of doing it into these moulds too as it would feel a bit like a massage when rubbing it onto ones scalp. Luvly juvly and am sure they smell just divine. Thanks for sharing.

    I just tried this recipe, now waiting to take it out the mold in 24 hours. I love that it's a small batch. Plus was wanting to find one with the apple cider vinegar. So this is great 🙂

      I'm so pleased you tried my small-batch recipe, focusing on just what you need. Remember, the 4-6 week curing process is essential. Apple cider vinegar, a remarkable natural ingredient, restores scalp pH balance and refreshes your hair. Enjoy the benefits of your homemade shampoo bars!

    Is the apple cider vinegar helping with not having ro rinse the hair with it?

    • @beautybooster_diy4848
      @beautybooster_diy4848  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yes, my apple cider shampoo bars are designed to reduce the need for an apple cider vinegar (ACV) rinse. They already contain apple cider vinegar, which helps balance the scalp’s pH and smooth the hair cuticle, leaving your hair soft and manageable without extra rinsing. That said, if you prefer, you can still use an ACV rinse occasionally-especially if you have hard water or want an extra boost of shine and smoothness.

    This is a dumb question, but would the purple colorant and/or the vinegar be able to brighten blonde or light grey hair that has a tinge of yellow?

    • @beautybooster_diy4848
      @beautybooster_diy4848  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Purple mica counteracts and neutralizes unwanted yellow or brassy tones in blonde or grey hair, making it appear cooler. Apple cider vinegar can enhance the hair's natural shine and brightness by removing build-up and restoring pH balance.

    Can you say what the lye concentration is, or the lye/water 'ACV' ratio is?. Thank you so much for this recipe.

    • @beautybooster_diy4848
      @beautybooster_diy4848  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The lye concentration in the recipe is approximately 2.08:1, representing the water to lye ratio. The lye/ACV ratio is around 1.14:1, indicating the proportion of lye to Apple Cider Vinegar.

      @@beautybooster_diy4848 Interestingly, soap calc gives the recipe "0" cleansing. I superfatted at 5%. Do you think this is normal for a shampoo bar?

    • @beautybooster_diy4848
      @beautybooster_diy4848  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Marie-4Him It's normal for a shampoo bar to register low cleansing values in soap calculators, emphasizing milder cleansing properties. A 5% superfat, prioritizing conditioning, is common in shampoo bars. Experimenting with oils and superfat percentages helps find the right balance for individual hair types and preferences.

    Thank u for sharing. Lovely recipe. What is the PH of the bar?

    • @beautybooster_diy4848
      @beautybooster_diy4848  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It was 5 - To measure pH, dissolve a small amount of the shampoo bar in distilled water. Use pH test strips or a digital pH meter for an accurate reading. Proper pH helps prevent scalp irritation, dryness, and damage to the hair, ensuring the benefits of the apple cider vinegar are maximized.

      Shampoo bars contain sodium hydroxide so they require a curing period of 4-6 weeks. This is because sodium hydroxide, a potent alkali, undergoes a chemical reaction with the oils and fats within the bar. Known as saponification, this process transforms the ingredients into a gentle and safe product suitable for hair use, allowing ample time for complete neutralization of the sodium hydroxide.

    • @beautybooster_diy4848
      @beautybooster_diy4848  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yes, these can be placed in the fridge overnight to help them firm up faster. However, you still need to let them cure for 4-6 weeks to fully saponify the lye and make the soap hard and mild. After refrigerating, let the bars return to room temperature and cure at room temperature for the best results.
