HOORAY! The Charades episode completely changes when you realize that Muffin's just trying to take care of her sister and make things easy for her. Even at the beginning, Muffin is holding Sock's ice pop while she's licking it.
Oh wow, I never really noticed that. She IS a considerate big sister even though we don't outright see it. It's the little gestures, like her putting her seatbelt on for her.
You guys, THE TEASE!!! Daddy drop off is good but your NEXT episode, at least on D+ is sleepytime and it is a cinematic masterpiece. The score, the animation, the message, uuuuuuuuugh. I can’t wait.

I love Daddy Dropoff’s lesson in the way that it emphasizes how important playing with your kids as a parent is. I didn’t understand it at first, but now I really vibe with it. I never realized how much play can teach such essential social skills and it explains why I was such a socially stunted kid. My parents were good parents, but like any good parents they had their flaws, and one of which was that they never really played with me that much. I think they thought me and my brother would do that, but we never really got along since we had such a big age difference. This episode really made things click for me that a life full of play with parents who engage with them on the level is really what helps make an outgoing kid.
Mom of 26 year old here- I was giggling along with y'all and suddenly started crying at the end of Daddy Dropoff when the flash-forward occurs. They are little for such a short time!! Enjoy all the baby and toddler stuff, Jay! It goes by way too fast.😢
Jay is right about making those little moments count. Unfortunately my younger & only sister passed away a year ago, and this show reminds me of all the good memories I’ve had with my sister. Life has been pretty rough for me so I appreciate you guys reacting to Bluey, it’s been a great highlight to my day whenever a Bluey reaction episode is uploaded. This show is an example of making those little moments with your loved ones count in the best & most fun way you know how, because you never know when you’ll have time to make those memories again.
I've had a really rough run of it the past few days, so I did the last "Hooray!" with you both, and it really put a smile on my face. Thank you both for being such a wonderful source of brightness and light when the only light I can see is faint and dim. I'm very grateful that I found this channel. I wish nothing but the best to both of you and your families.
10:00 buy frozen berries and show him that the berries are going into the blender or muffins etc. so its cheaper and hopefully he'll still like them if he knows they are in other things (its important to show him the berries before they are incorporated because of object permeance)
When Jay talks about his son meeting his best friend my mind flashed over Jay and Adam during pReview'd and (I know Brian is the best friend) but the times they reassured each other, giggled at one another, cried and hugged one another and that montage of friendship and kindness made me so happy for James. He's got such a lucky sweet example... thank you. -Glad to be a part of the Orchard.❤
I deal with the struggle every day as a toddler dad and I'm like finding myself getting frustrated and then realizing that every one of these moments are informing how he thinks about me and how he interacts with the world. GOD THIS SHOW
Oof, that Daddy Drop Off... My oldest just started High School, and she had the best time. New school in bigger town, and only a small handful of friends that she knew, but she was excited, and immediately made new friends. All I wanted for her was to have a good start to the year (or four), and to meet new people, and that they're nice to her...and everything has been so much better than my wildest dreams. This episode hits. Time flies, but goodness these are important moments to hold onto!
Without spoilers, Adam has been picking up on the subtle hints about the house needing repairs that pays off in the season 3 finale. Not until watching from the beginning did I realize Bluey was playing the long-game in story telling.
Paying the toll! Daddy drop off went exactly how I expected. Everyone in our house has ADHD and man morning routine is ROUGH. Frustrated the whole episode. But then man they just throw that montage at the end and tears😭
Charades is one of my favorites because of Nana's rule - "everyone gets what they want". I have SO MANY cousins on each side, and both sets of grandparents were so good about making us all feel special. My daughter is in this "If something isn't right IT MUST BE FIXED RIGHT NOW" phase - brace yourself, Jay! There will be things your son sees as mistakes that you would never have thought of.
Their house is a Queenslander which means it is most likely 100 plus years old and they are timber and have corrugated tin rooves - they need a fair bit of maintenance... especially when you take in to account Brisbane's extreme weather/storms
I totally yelled HOORAY the first time Adam said it, felt like a dork, then kept yelling it the next two times as well. 😂 And buckle up, because Daddy Dropoff was just a light case of the sniffles compared to what's coming. I'm not sure which one will hit you guys the hardest, but I'm excited to see how you react to Sleepytime. That one is just beautiful.
For some reason this episode I keep imagining Jay's son watching this whole series in 15 or 20 years. I hope he does, it would be such a beautiful insight for him into how his dad felt about his when he was too little to remember. It's like a version of writing letters to your kid on each birthday and giving them all to the kid when they turn 18. (ETA I said hurray and yeah it was fun I giggled)
I love this interpretation. When I first saw this episode I thought Muffin just wanted to show what she learned in class but didn't have the words to express that. I really like the idea that Muffin was the first of the girls to understand that "we need to take care of the little ones."
@@amandajohnson3531 There's a later episode where they're all getting in the car, and you see her helping buckle Socks in her car seat. She's a wild child but she's a good sister.
Daddy drop off is one of my favorite episodes. It’s impactful for being such an easy and casual episode to talk about enjoying your time with your kid and putting effort in. It’s super good!
Was fun to hear you talk about them changing the intro JUST before they were about to do it :D Whenever they do any skip to the future like this or Camping, it always gets me. Makes them feel even more like full characters, like real people, not archetypes only for the sake of teaching kids something or only to entertainin them for a few minutes. Think that's part of why it works so well.
Hooray!! I watched you guys watch the end of Daddy Dropoff like 3 times and I totally needed the dopamine hit at the end and when you did it again so we could join in, I happily did (hands in the air and everything!)! Thank you for brightening up my Wednesday with your Bluey reactions!
I did it. I did the hooray and got the dopamine! I work with preschoolers and toddlers and it is absolutely a kick when they get excited over something and have a HOORAY or WOOO moment and you get to do it too. This was needed today - it's been a rough one. Thank you, guys.
My daughter has played all of the jokes the kids do in Favorite Thing on me, often immediately after watching the episode 😂 we also play Walk Straight almost every morning at school drop off.
"Does Muffin not have an imagination?" Only tangentially related, but this made me remember that some people have aphantasia, where they can't "see" things in their minds. So maybe she has that, or maybe she's just a toddler who wanted to play ballerinas. XD
I'd definitely go with some kind of neurodivergence with Muffin. There are so many instances throughout the show where she struggles to understand how a game or concept works. I think that's one reason why Muffin really enjoys playing with Bluey and Bingo. They make allowances for her and help her to "win" at their play.
Daddy Dropoff always gets me with that peak into the future. Knowing what episode is coming up next has me really excited. It's a doozy, boys. Buckle up. Jay, the fact that you are mindful of these things is a wonderful indicator of the dad you're gonna be.
Hooray! You guys are fun, love your bluey reactions! Thanks Jay for representing what it means to be a good parent! I have a 2yr old boy and a 5 month old girl, so I'm looking forward to things like school and finding best friends as well 😁
My 9 yr old struggles with independent play...He's the middle in our family, so feels he needs someone (dad, mom or older brother) or something (TV, computer, video games) in order to keep himself entertained. It's something we've been working on since he was little, but he hasn't figured it out yet.
Thank you so much for including Dadbaby in this reaction series! Its honestly so silly and its so ridiculous it wasnt included on disney+ imo. Stay fresh, orchard!!❤❤❤ Bluey FTW!
Hooray! Honestly i love watching this show with my kids (2 and 5) and seeing Jay as a new father and new viewer of this show is a great pick-me-up. Love the content!
Just here to pay my HURRAY! tax! LOL Also, Jay, your musings about fatherhood are already shaping you to become a most excellent dad. I know there may be day that you doubt yourself, but just remember: you can only do so much, and you can only do the best you can. Just keep moving forward, and you'll be fine. Love ya bud. ❤️🍑
Also I think US toilets work slightly differently to Aussie toilets. I think yours drain, then refill. Ours dump their water into the bowl which pushes the flushed stuff down the pipe. So there’d be some slight difference in mechanism between flush/fill, and fill/flush. I think. I heard that somewhere, it might be wrong. Great reactions as always!
For real, I hope you never stop doing the "Four more episodes of Bluey - Hurray!" because I got a kick joining in on the "Hurray!" Jay is right, it's just a little hit of dopamine.
There's a theory that the reason Muffin was so insistent in Charades was because she wanted to make it so Socks could get the right answer; she was "taking care of the littlies" in her own way. I love that Bingo gets her own focus episode with a special opening. We don't often get to see her on her own. It's also kind of interesting, speaking as someone who had to entertain myself a lot as a kid, to be reminded that kids who have siblings to play with all the time need to learn how to play independently. Favorite Thing has a wonderful moral that you almost never see in children's entertainment. In children's shows someone being sad is always treated like a problem that needs to be solved. Your friend is upset? You need to fix it! But in real life people get upset, and sometimes they just need a little space to feel upset for a while. Bluey did well trying to cheer her sister up and showing emotional support, but in the end Bingo just needed some time to feel her feelings. And when she did come back to the table it was because she was truly ready to, not because she was being pressured to put on a brave face. Lila is adorable, and I'm so happy that she and Bingo found each other. A lifelong friend is precious.
Just as Bandit didn’t _have_ to play those games with Bingo on the way to school, the writers didn’t _have_ to include that montage at 27:56. But we can all agree it’s better that they did.
