Is there any way you can do a more in-depth video on the measurements of the track and where to measure, down at NEFLS are switches are not the best. And we need a consecutive way to build them so it would be easier to work on them. Thank you for the video I have sent it to the club President and Vice President, thank you
Hi Robert, you're a man who's up to some pretty cool stuff! Exactly the kind of setup I'd like to create for my own kids. A few questions: what are your ties made of (plastic lumber or dark stained wood)? It also looks like you've got a drawing that you're following to build this switch... where do you get/download drawings, or did you draft them yourself? Lastly, how much are you into at this point for track/gravel/trestle, locomotives, and rolling stock if you don't mind me asking?
The table has 6 4x4 legs, 2x4 frame work, covered with a 3/8 sheet of plywood. The the tie spacers are ripped 2x4 into 3/4 inch strips. I added a lower shelf (2x4 frame) and skinned it with 3/8 plywood for a tie storage.
That looks so much more satisfying than making them in N Gauge!

The table is interesting, design to build those tracks more efficiently.

What are the spacing for the strips
Big points
What router bit did you use on the stock rails?
Standard wood bit works fine. I used a straight shaft by 1 inch. That allows me to used the rail head as a guide.
What metal do you use for the rails
T6 Aluminum
Awesome , What materials did you use for the table?
