      Jared, thanks! Great job!
      Would you please also consider modeling hi speed travelator. It's a moving walkway in which each segment has two parts that can expand. It slows down gradually at the beginning and at the end so people can get on and off, but the speed at the middle is always fast!
      I found this short video from one in Toronto, Canada.

      Ilham Maulana AutoCad is mainly for technical 2D drawings. For 3D modeling you can use either: 3Dsmax, Blender, Sketchup, Rhinoceros, etc. Each of them can make their own style animation and some needs plugins for more complex modifications. I’m also 3D artist myself, check my works at 3d-rendering-edsons.business.site/?

    • @richardwolfendale8783

    4:20 is actually not true. The handrail and steps dont move at the same speed. The handrails move a tiny bit faster to make sure that the person standing on the steps is always pulled forward and not backwards when a lot of people are holding on to the railing! To prevent you from falling backwards

    I'm not sure about escalators in US, but here in Europe, the handrail moves slightly faster than the stairs. This is intentional, because it keeps you aware of your surroundings and thus keeps you awake. If you fell asleep on the escalators, you might end up in hospital after a rather curious accident.

    @starbase218 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Actually most escalators (that I used anyway) will have the handrail moving a bit faster than the steps. I looked it up and one reason I found has to do with wear, over time reducing the handrail speed. So this way, they get a better service life out of it. Another reason I found is safety. It would actually go faster on escalators going up, and slower on ones going down (which I think is also what I’ve seen). If someone who counts on the handrail for balance falls, they’d fall on the escalator upwards.
    I think my father (who was a maintenance technician in a large department store) actually mentioned the safety reason to me.

    There was an accident in a New York subway 10-20 years ago where one ate a passenger. It chewed her to pieces. I worked on ones made by Thyson-Krupp while working as a stationary engineer in a 14 level building in Barcelona, Spain. 28 escalators that we had to do emergency repairs and preventative maintenance on. A common problem was the proximity sensors that assure proper chain tension would move out of adjustment through vibration over time, or they would fail and the escalator would stop. We would have to lock out and tag out the equipment, block it off from customers, and then begin the troubleshooting process. Occasionally an electric motor would fail and have to be replaced. Big job.

    There were two really long escalators on the USS Kitty Hawk aircraft carrier when I was stationed on board. They went from the deck under the hangar bay all the way up to the deck under the flight deck (through four decks) and were designed back in the late 50s to carry pilots directly from their ready-rooms up to the flight deck. They were never activated while I was there, but everyone used them as a shortcut and under a heavy enough load, they could begin to slowly descend causing everyone to walk against them.
