There's an E&E Railway in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It's about 8 miles end to end and serves John Morrell beef packing plant and a metals recycling center and a very small amount of other small businesses around town.
Ellis & Eastern is what it stands for though.
I absolutely love the railroad you're making!

Amazing work and an amazing work ethic. I loved that about the people in the Midwest. They work hard and steady. Today it was 109F son yard work was impossible for me, but I understand you guys have had some hot days in the Twin Cities area. Thanks for sharing. I can’t wait until the next installment. Elan is one lucky little boy.

Did you know ??: Full size railroads actually use the same principle in their spring switches. Spring switches are not as common as they used to be but they ARE still used in certain situations.
Great vid showing exactly how a spring switch works....and how it can save you the embarrassment of a derailment. Keep up the great work and I can't wait until you get the "power" in your motive power chassis. Wouldn't July 4th be a great day for the inaugural run ???

coming along great, The switch turned out great in no time you'll have the locomotive running around your track smiling from ear to ear.

Looks good, you should put the target on top of the switch. Green indicates your lined for straight rail, Yellow means your Lined for crossover movement or adjacent track. Still have to double check can't always trust the targets. There are multiple switches, spring switch, variable switch aren't used very much and rigid switches that must be lined for your movement. 👍

Try to build a 3 way switch and a double slip switch and a wooden trestle.

I'm surprised you didn't have to machine the right rail for the turn out rail to fit just inside the the right rail I know my Ho scale turn outs have this feature, but if it works without you having to machine that right rail kudos to you!!! Love the video!

The twist throw would’ve been cool if you were able to do that. I was looking at where you’re getting the parts from & this seems abt right for a budget railway I can see myself doing later on or just building a decent loco from the parts from where you got yours to make a dsl electric not gas/electric engine!
Diesel has the fumes, smells, rattles & sounds that are great!

Where it is rubbing at when you throw the switch, just cut out a little bit of the base metal.
