Hey awesome video! Its extremely cool to see someone like you who cares for the resource and in conscientious of the spawn and when its ethical to target them. Thanks!!
Wish my dad (who was my best friend and lifelong fishing partner) was still here to watch your videos with me. I did get to show him a few of your earliest ones when you were still such a young ‘un. Thanks for a few minutes of sanity in these crazy times. 👍
Damn, what a fish. I ran into one on rock creek (missoula mt area) several years ago. Kept trying to eat the whitefish i was hooking. It was low-mid 20s and incredibly aggressive, much like the ones you were targeting. Very cool to see. Thanks for the video!
Awesome video dude! May I ask what your rod, reel, and line setup was for these guys? I’m trying to get a streamer rod of my own and just asking around for opinions. Thanks!
I run a 9 foot 8 weight fenwick aetos these days. Reel is lamson liquid. I use a few different cortland sinking and floating lines. And I just run about 5-6 feet of 12-20# fluoro as a leader
This is an awesome video. I can tell you appreciate that place as much as I do. That first bully video was cool too, and I like that you guys mixed up the lure/fly approach. But I was wondering how long that big bully in this video was out of the water...seemed like a long time. I know you care about those fish, but those bulls are sensitive in late summer.
Thanks for watching! The fish was not out of the water for more than 30 seconds. I put a slow motion clip in the video of the fish so it may have seemed like it was out for longer. The water was plenty cold in the mountain stream (58F degrees). He took right off upon release.
Hey dude, just found your channel and man you do some sick stuff! Loved this video. I really appreciate your respect for those fish. Need more people like you out on the water. Keep it up man, excited to see your future uploads!
Dan great fish bro!!! Good color too!!! Your hilarious with that rod!!! Lol. It was very nice you gave somebody FYI! Years back I was at the San Juan river it was an old guy by himself fission down 100 yards above me he caught this monster fish he didn’t have a net I saw he was in trouble so I ran up and I noted the fish form and I took pictures and this was years ago when they were negative! I got the guys information he begged me to send him a picture couple months went by and I’m like I got to get that guy the picture so I blew it up to an 8 x 10 at work I sent him the picture he sent me a really nice letter thanking me and a bunch of flies so it does go along way!
Scott, great story. I caught a massive brown at about 10:30 one night and i thought I was the only one on the river. I had no net and no camera. A guy came running down the river to help me out and netted my fish and then took some pics. I never would've landed it without him. He sent me some awesome pics, and to this day it's the biggest brown I've ever caught. I will NEVER forget that guy. Maybe it was you. LOL!
@@thomasmckenzie4584 no! This was daylight.. you never know who’s out there.. I still have his flys.. that shami leach I had no idea would catch fish until 20 years later!!! I was a bad student.. now I catch everything on it and dry my truck!!! Great story!!!
I watched this over and over and I don't think you gave the location. I'm guessing somewhere between Phillipsburg and Missoula. Could you use dry flies to catch these bulls or is it all streamers?
Oh they’re the new Simms “Undercover Casual” waders. Works for dinner dates and waders. Now you can finally take a hunny fishing and to a nice dinner afterwards without changing pants!
I feel like I can't mess around as much in TH-cam comments. Like if I say "I taught him everything he knows " which I mean brother doesn't shoutout my big bull I slay years ago in May, but anyways feel like imma get blasted....worse then one of my squirms gracing the lip of a small rainbow. At this point I don't know what to do with my hands so going to get out of here by saying great fish baht!!!
Catch and release much respect to you
Off a bow and arrow cast, on camera, and everything! Geez, that's sweet.
Thanks for watching!

That was half off an 11 foot 3 weight and half of a 9 foot 5 weight 😂 I broke both rods so I put them together to make one rod
Unreal ingenuity
Ramble on!!!

What brand waders are those??
Oh they’re the new Simms “Undercover Casual” waders. Works for dinner dates and waders. Now you can finally take a hunny fishing and to a nice dinner afterwards without changing pants!
I was thinking the same thing. I always look dorky in mine but those look like just regular pants! I need some!
Don’t know if you noticed but a few you held up were brook bull hybrids they are becoming a big problem in that creek.
Holy SHA-MOKEZ!!!
