It’s definitely a game of details. A humble suggestion… lose the shoes and keep your feet planted. The constant repositioning of your feet and rocking while casting went a long way towards keeping those fish wary and at a distance in the calm water. Additionally, bare feet will let you know when your stepping on your fly line. Good luck and good fishing!
Yeah I’d have an anxiety attack waiting I don’t have the patience for fly fishing but it’s a beautiful thing primitive but in a good way come on rich where are you you’re good with the fly maybe next time take care guys native Palm Beach guy wish I lived there I miss my shot in the 80s I could’ve bought a place but I didn’t life goes on
"Do everything exactly right." Lol ! Well, what is "exactly right, after you tested out every strategy, and the Tarpons aren't taking the lure even though ?
Try freshwater ones in a stained water canal with live bait 2 feet from the bank under your feet while you are motionless for hours waiting ...no sight of nothing just pure stealth and patience ..oh and watch out for the gator 30 ft away

God put tarpon on earth to keep men humble.
And it worked
