Hey hello! I thought this fancy vinyl would be cool for such things lemme know what you think! Also, for those interested I put a few more cars up on the ebay page. I plan on posting regularly there as long as people are interested in them . Hope your weekend was good! I should be back tomorrow with something new. I want to make a MASH style ambulance out of a dodge WC. I'm not sure if it'll be the next one out though! Talk to you soon!
The vinyl looks great. As far as the silver goes, I've been finding that adding a touch of pearlizer to non-metallic paints gives me a much more satisfying metallic effect. The finer flakes, to my eye, more closely match the scale of the car. Maybe just a pinch of pearl to some grey would be more what you're looking for.
That chrome trim is rad. It really worked out well. I'm glad you removed the castings first. The decals make it look much more realistic. As always, nicely done, sir.
I've never looked back since finding a 25mm sanding disc attachment for my Dremel, it'd whizz that side trim off in no time and leave a smooth finish. Highly recommended!
I love watching you work. When you are going for an original look, AKA As delivered, the front turn signal/parking lights on fifties and sixties cars had white lenses and bulbs. I think amber came to the front in the late sixties but my memory isn't that specific.
Looks great, and I like the chrome trim idea you used. I am with you on the silver in the back, I believe a gray color would of worked better, I am not feeling the silver you applied.
That’s a nice looking 55 Chevy ! I agree maybe a darker gray would have looked better but it is your choice because your the one that has to do it . And you can always change it if you want to that’s the good part about what you do. I will enjoy it and l’m sure others will to.
I agree with your thoughts on the color. Since there majority of the car looks so sinister, the silver looks too bright. If the bumpers were chrome the silver would fit in better. Sweet car! 😎👍
Dude, that chrome striping is legit! I admit I was a bit confuzzled when you were laying it out. Grey would look great as an accent to the black. Great job!
Used that vinyl wrap to put chrome door handles on my 70s styled van. Your attention to detail is amazing and that’s one tuff looking car! Great job as always.
I got some of that chrome given to me by a company that wrapped an entire 40’ racing yacht in it. It looked impressive. I used it for making some badges fro my car in the end.
In my book I think you did a great job on the car it truly looks like an old school classic car Hot Wheels should be taking some lessons from you because obviously over the years they forgotten what a true old classic car looks like love your videos and I think you did a great job.
We plastic scale model builders,i at least, used a product called "Bare Metal Foil" superthin self adhesive metal foil in differen surface qualities.A little tricky to apply but when on really looked like real chrome. You could buy this in chrome, stainless, matte aluminum, brushed steel and so on! It even can be polished.
the chrome vinyl can be used as mirrored window tint , use half cut grain rice under it in a diamond plate pattern for truck beds and bumpers then strips for wood beds
The trunk color should be on the roof also... You're correct, the second color should be an off white as opposed to silver.... I do like the chrome though.
Just wanted to say hello from Kamloops B,C . I started watching your videos about three months ago. After the first vid, I was hooked. Very nice work in deed.
That does look really sharp! I do 1/24, 25 scale model cars. There's a chrome tape that you can get for trim moldings. Some guys use tinfoil! I prefer the Molotow Chrome Paint marker myself. It's the easiest to work with, with the same results. Regardless, they all look good.
I think the best treatment, though subtle, is to substitute Nomad wheelwells for the tiny coupe style. If I ever get my hands on a two-door post, that's the route I'm taking.
OMG just got my first airbrush but very thankful for your tips on how to paint also learned you need to clear coat between colors when painting car more than one color.
Keep in mind you only need to clearcoat in between colors of they bleed like those candy paints. If you are using enamel paints or something similar you wouldn't need to.
The chrome vinyl is cool. That's got a lot of potential. Mirrors, bumpers, maybe even wheels if you're feeling brave. I look forward to seeing you do more with it.
I like the silver if you think about when those cars were built (red and white-yellow and white the accent color was supposed to stand out when they were building them for the style and character of the bel air my opinion leave it looks awesome
Loving the Chrome strips Austin , you the silver looks a bit too sparkly , l think the brightness is fine , less sparkles it woukd be perfect , looks great over all though 👍
I would have loved to have seen the rear of the car the trunk and fin in a metal flake white and the rest in a metal flake red. There is also chrome around all the windows. Like they say it ain’t cool if your chrome don’t shine. Nice concept.!
Not bad. Only nag is it looks like a cop car. Put a bubble gum light on top and it's Hiway Patrol! Nice work with the new vinyl trim tape, hope you'll redo the color at a later date!

My cousin had a blue '55 Chevy. Yours looks cooler than the real thing.
you do the dodge wc then you have to do Sherman's jeep >:)
What is the link too your ebay page, could you please post it?

You raise the bar every time black is not a easy colour to work with but you killed it well done friend.
🇬🇧👍🏻♥️✌🏻🇨🇦
I absolutely love this Bel Air, my grandpa would be proud if he were alive
That chrome trim is rad. It really worked out well. I'm glad you removed the castings first. The decals make it look much more realistic. As always, nicely done, sir.
My Grandad had a yellow/white Belair. Sure wish I had it today. You is da' master.

that chrome is sweet leaving the bumpers black was a good idea. turned out amazing

55 chevys have always been my dream car for many years so im so glad you did this one , turnt out awsome 😁
Adds a bunch of realism, I think it turned out great!

I’m most impressed with how steady you keep the head cam! That’s some real focus, eye of the tiger baby!
It's on an arm haha
Glad to have you back missed your vids. Looked amazing as always. Can't wait for the M.A.S.H. vehicle
Used that vinyl wrap to put chrome door handles on my 70s styled van. Your attention to detail is amazing and that’s one tuff looking car! Great job as always.
One of my favorite builds for sure

That turned out bad ass. One of the better builds I’ve seen in a long time congrats bro
Turned out great liked the chrome can't wait for the MASH build
I got some of that chrome given to me by a company that wrapped an entire 40’ racing yacht in it. It looked impressive. I used it for making some badges fro my car in the end.
That is so cool! Great idea creating the lines in the chrome, Austin. Love the M*A*S*H* idea too!
Crome is awesome. Looks great👍👍👍

This is cool. I really like that you keep trying new stuff. Still waiting for that Dakota! Keep up the great work.

Looks completely classy
Super fine black Sharpie around the trim on the "bright" bits would highlight the chrome trim. Or a washed acrylic paint. Looks dope either way.
Outstanding build!
Turned out awesome - great idea
The contrast is perfect. The color combos from the factory were not subtle. Well done. Come back to YT!
The colors you chose are spectacular and the silver trim just sets it all off. Job well done!
the chrome vinyl can be used as mirrored window tint , use half cut grain rice under it in a diamond plate pattern for truck beds and bumpers then strips for wood beds
Oh man this car is so beautiful......!!! 👏😎
That came out great and a mash ambulance would be cool as hell
mate, you are taking it to the next level. cheers.
Awesome video! The chrome looks great, but I miss the protrusion of the original trim pieces
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS CAR!!!
The trunk color should be on the roof also... You're correct, the second color should be an off white as opposed to silver.... I do like the chrome though.
nice build, details and paint job 👍👍
Trunk area is a little bright but the car still looks absolutely fantastic.👍👍😎
The end result is amazing. At the start, I thought the casting was too crappy. But, damn! Great job.
Excellent job as always!
Just wanted to say hello from Kamloops B,C . I started watching your videos about three months ago. After the first vid, I was hooked. Very nice work in deed.
Beautiful car, but I think you're right about the gray paint instead of the silver
Well done sir👏👏👏, well done.
Hi! Leaving a comment is like signing the guest book!
As a modeler since the 70s. You could also use Bare Metal. That is awesome stuff.
That turned out really cool.
Dude you're the best on yt the trim is awesome keep using it🤘👍❤ the channel

Nice chrome and love stains.
Great job as always! Any more plans for the wood grain?
Beautiful build. I kinda agree with you. The Chrome kinda dissapear with that silver collour.
That does look really sharp!

Radiused wheelwells were big in the 60s. Made it a whole lot easier to fit your slicks on.
I think the best treatment, though subtle, is to substitute Nomad wheelwells for the tiny coupe style. If I ever get my hands on a two-door post, that's the route I'm taking.
Awesome job 👍
love the car, looks like a resto mod. good choice of colors.
I think I know what you mean about the color. Maybe gun metal gray? The car is still awesome. It looks great
Awesome job as usual, would've loved to see the red and white two tone..especially with the chrome trim. Still Awesome job
Such awesome details my friend 💪🔥
Very awesome. Needs a big ass raiders decal on top of. Perfection as always bro
Looks Great!! Like always!
My stepdad had a peach charcoal two tone like that. Usually the roof matches the trunk in the two-tone for this year car.
Agreed the vinyl chrome looks better the thinner the line. Check out some of those 'chameleon' vinyl chromes out there.
Man , you have steady hands ! I know you don't smoke lol !!

Love the channel, good work!

Yes to silver.
I like the silver if you think about when those cars were built (red and white-yellow and white the accent color was supposed to stand out when they were building them for the style and character of the bel air my opinion leave it looks awesome
Hi Friend great job today I like that Car 😁👍💯
Looks awesome.
love the chrome, gunna have more face reveals lol. love the beard! 🍁
Loving the Chrome strips Austin , you the silver looks a bit too sparkly , l think the brightness is fine , less sparkles it woukd be perfect , looks great over all though 👍
That silver isn’t working for me. But that trim and especially the front all black....rocking!!
id drive her if i had it,, but think the darker grey instead of silver might been a better look but she looking good as is too.
the black bumpers were nice, just wonder if a chrome grill would have looked ok with the black bumpers.
Very, very cool! 😎
looks great. might need to try a sort of patina vinyl in the future if there is one. kind of like they are wrapping cars with
Looks really good
Awesome Awesome Awesome Awesome!!!!!!!!!!
Hello! Hello again. the trim looks good, i hope it does not lift overtime.
Beautiful
Chrome trims looking so good! Thank God you didn't use elephant gray, I like the silver 😊
BRAVO!!!!! Schaweeeet.
Great video my friend! The chrome vinyl worked out beautifully. May I ask where you picked up the vinyl? Once again, great job!
I would have loved to have seen the rear of the car the trunk and fin in a metal flake white and the rest in a metal flake red. There is also chrome around all the windows. Like they say it ain’t cool if your chrome don’t shine. Nice concept.!
Super cool work, I love it. Thanks for always share your technics and give us ideas.
How make that sparkle stuff you put on the car? Brand?
Not bad. Only nag is it looks like a cop car. Put a bubble gum light on top and it's Hiway Patrol! Nice work with the new vinyl trim tape, hope you'll redo the color at a later date!
Chrome flames
