Thanks. I had wondered whether "R 4039 Broadcast Records - red label (c.1935): play time-each side 4.5 minutes" mentioned by Prof Rajeev Patke might be 12" though it remained unclear to me how even 12" could accommodate 4.5 minutes. I had thought in general 7-inch disc is approx. 1 min-40 sec; 10-inch disc, approx. 2 min-30 sec, and for a 12-inch disc, approx. 4 mins.and that perhaps these were some extra special 12". Are these some other formats and dimensions that could accommodate longer durations? I will be grateful for clarity on these "Broadcast Records - red label (c.1935): play time-each side 4.5 minutes". I need to read up more on this and in the interests of accuracy, I realise that it is better to only mention the record numbers and year of publication, as I have done elsewhere wherever the format seems unclear. courses.nus.edu.sg/course/ellpatke/Miscellany/rasoonlanbai.htm I have some other questions about some of the recordings with longer time spans in the 78 RPM era and have in fact been meaning to possibly trouble Suresh Chandvankar and others for clarity anyway because some of the recordings, clearly labelled as 10" in his and other collections, are as long as about 4 mts.
Rasoolan never cut any 12" inch 78 rpm discs.
