I am a Gen Z and I truely listen and adore such beautiful pieces because these are timeless. I feel these are not just meant to be listened to in 20th century but also in the centuries that are yet to come. In 2022 I went to Vrindavan and we brought home our Kanha ji named Keshav. I discovered this musical piece in Jan 2024 and now everyday when I wash Keshav's clothes or prepare bhog for puja, I just put on my earpods and listen to this. It takes me into a trans like situation and I feel like I am at Vrindavan again -walking along the banks of Yamuna and then reaching Radha Raman ji mandir. It makes me the same person who I was in 2022 when I cried when I got the first glance of shri Banke Bihari ji. This piece is magical somehow. When she says - "Sudh budh khoyi chain gawayi, dhyan lageyo hai tero naam" - this feels like she is singing about me being in a trans like situation whenever I am with Keshav 🙏🏻
I am fro Nepal and Krishna bhagwan devotee. Listening to this makes my heart ache profoundly with bliss and sorrow at the same time. I am always overwhelmed. 🙏
i had listened other version of this song and came out today to hear this in my feed. Glad seeing your comment . I am Sugam Subedi from Nepal. i loved how the lyrics potrayed the spritual love of Gopis towards Krishna.

This is a song about Krishna. Sri Radha is telling Krishna (saanvre) to come to her village on the banks of the Yamuna river. Very beautiful timeless rendition by Dr Atre who truly conveys the duress of Sri Radha in separation from her beloved Lord Krishna. ❤
'Stones and Sieves'? Ok, do you know a stone in Kaaba gives more income to that country than even oil? Listening to classical indian music always brings me to tears, both tears of joy and sorrow. There is also an element of reflection which the music never fails to evoke - a reflection of life and what we are. Keep listening and you will become a better person.

The words, their religious/bhakti content, their cultural ethos and the emotive reaction they evoke are very much a part of any musical or for that any artistic expression and its reception. Therefore, no matter how much a non-native may enjoy the universal in any artistic expression will never be able to spontaneously reach the core of what is being performed as a native would. The longing of a village bound Indian girl cannot be expressed or felt anywhere else. It is not a single person pining for her lover but the whole situation which evokes a multi-layered response in the native listener.
So eloquently put ! Indeed, a non-native is able to imbibe the resonance of any culture's musical expression (as I do) without being able to reach its core as a native speaker would. But oh it is still spiritually joyous to me ! I am lost in its inexplicable ecstacy...

The beauty of this composition is its beautiful blend of birah and playfulness. Such a dynamic composition. The vistaars coupled with the 'savare aijaijyo* creates a rippling effect in my heart. My pranaams to vidushi prabha atreji ❤️🙏
I don't understand the technicalities of music but the emotions in her voice, the longingness for Sawre. The crystal clear water as if flowing from brook, coming out tenderly and with tinkling sound. Oh still looking for words to praise the soul and body of song. Thanks uploading.
When one closes their mind, one can see tossing and turning of Yamuna as every swar tosses and turns, as if Yamuna herself is in ecstasy to welcome Krishna. One can see gopika's dancing with ecstatic joy while welcoming Lord Krishna. The 'Gaon' here is a representation of one's own place of warmth and love which we can imagine sitting anywhere accross the globe. The song can elevate anyone! Hats off!!
This is a intense song. It brings tears in my eyes Everytime I listen to it... And I really find anf feel my self like a Gopi lying down in Shri Krishna's eternal Charan. Calling my master my Lord... To just have a look on me a "tucch praani"... What a heavenly voice it connects us to the Lord of Lord's...may God bless. Jai Shri Radhe Krishna..
I have been listening to this song for years, still whenever I listen to it, I feel the novelty of the rendition and get mesmerised by her "Gayaki"...wonderful!
A divine voice.. the lyrics, the voice, the raga.. all make it one of the finest renditions in Indian classical music. Reminds me of my boyhood on the banks of Ganges..
I was working on a project for my office and stumbled upon this song. I thought it's too long and I wouldn't be able to hear it all in a go but goddamn my mind froze. It was as if time stopped for these 16:30 minutes. That voice transports you to "Jamuna kinaray"
I loved her voice so much. She passed away in January. When I heard that news, I gasped and skipped a beat, heartfelt a sharp stinging pain for a second. I wish if someone will have a gasp like this for me when I'm gone.
i m very fortunate to listen this in live at sawaid gandharv music festival 2013 by prabhaji.. i met her on 10th november 2013 in pune on occasion of chintamani jayanti samaroh and i requested her that plz perform this in upcoming sawai gandharv bhimsen music festival ...by keeping this mind she completed her promise ...she is just beyond the words...
Ye awaz ..ye gazab ki gayiki ...kisi alag hi duniya me le jati hai ...mann ko bahut choo lene wala andaaz .....shat shat Naman aisi gaayika ko 👌🏻👍🏻😊💐🙏🙏
Naveed Sirajji, I have been listening to this rendition( thanks to you) for the last couple of years-- since there were only 14k hits. I am nobody to compare this performance with that of other great Artists. Everyone has his own style, mastery and beauty. But what attracts me in case of her rendition is the clear and clean expression of devotion and urge.
suhas ji: i am so grateful to you for revisiting this track time and again. i have come to think of this upload as a small oasis of peace and tranquillity for me as well. i completely agree that her devotion makes this performance so special but then again i feel the same about her other performances. Do keep visiting and God bless 😊
Profoundly divine. Tears are pouring out of my eyes. That yearning, that live for Bhagawan Krishna....🙏🙏🙏 How can he not come when a devotee calls him like this?
A moment of silence for those who unliked this masterpiece. I listened to this song as a kid, when my nanaji used to play it on his record player. Has stayed with me ever since. I'm grateful to my parents and grandparents for introducing me to classical music as well as old film music, most of which was classical based 😊
It takes a special atmosphere to appreciate this bhajan by such an outstanding artist. It should be taught in our schools to retain this legacy of our devotional music. Ak mehrotra
Can you recommend any old films that you think worthwhile? I love Satyajit Ray, and just watched "Salaam Bombay" for the first time last night, and am still thinking about it this morning. You sound knowledgeable, and any guidance will be appreciated.....
Quite divine to listen. It can lead one to the pinnacle of the celestial bliss. Hats off🙏🙏 to the scintillating loadstar of Indian classical music Dr. Prabha Atre ji

The sheer SWEETNESS in her voice is incomparable. Other singers may make 1000 other versions of this, but nothing else can even come close to this. ❤ Her voice with continue to magically and melodiously glide through our ears and emotions. OM SHANTI
Everytime I hear this I cry, something about the entire song: the raga, the words, melody, music, tonality of the recording, and her: feels like I am sitting by a sacred river, late afternoon..
+Mukeshbhai Patel That is an interesting observation. Pandit Kumar Gandharva does magical variations in his performance of the same. If you have not listened to this piece by him you can refer to th-cam.com/video/ERC-UhkaHeE/w-d-xo.html and start after 39minutes. God bless.

NashadRaza: By quoting Kabir, you have left me speechless. Very appropriately said. Indeed for a few minutes, i was astounded when someone left a negative comment after listening to this gem. Indeed, to those who are blind, the nuances of dance would be a waste. When I listen to this, I have this urge to sit on the banks of Jamuna and keep listening to Prabha Atre. God bless.

padma vibhusan aise hi ni dia gya hai. ab samajh aya mujhe.
love it her personality and her sweet voice
Beautiful 🥰 Tarana,अत्यंत मधुरिमा छा जाती है मन मस्तिष्क में।जय मां वागीश्वरी देवी।
RIP Prabha Atre ji. Lesser known talented Singer. This is such a loss one after another. Rashid Khan Sahab and now Prabha ji.
And you won't believe that the day before her death I was praising her voice
I have been listening to this song for years, still whenever I listen to it, I feel the novelty of the rendition and get mesmerised by her "Gayaki"...wonderful!
Love prabha atre ji s heart touching thumri
Nice bhajan
end of 2019 is coming and i am still here, and will always be. Prabha tai is like mother
Divine voice from divine soul
vipassana gautam Can you provide address and contact details of this legend voice. Please sm@divinehouse.com
Right now we are at end of humanity 😂😁😁
🙏 🙏 🙏. She has the touch of Goddess Saraswati. Look at her radiance.
So true.
A divine voice.. the lyrics, the voice, the raga.. all make it one of the finest renditions in Indian classical music. Reminds me of my boyhood on the banks of Ganges..
Bhaiya vah ganga hai na ki ganges.
One can feel Krishna nearby. So melodious voice.
न जाने कितनी बार सुन चुकी हूँ,पर हर बार कुछ नया रंग लगता है।वाह
It does not describe an ordinary girl's longing for her village. It allegorically describes the eternal love of Radha and her untold call to Shyam.
the girl from the village is now sad with your comment. all this while she was the radha in her story

I have never heard such voice.this is pictorial voice, pleasant sweet always entertaining.having heard this voice,I roam around peaceful jamuna.
I was working on a project for my office and stumbled upon this song. I thought it's too long and I wouldn't be able to hear it all in a go but goddamn my mind froze. It was as if time stopped for these 16:30 minutes. That voice transports you to "Jamuna kinaray"
I bow down to the divinity that pervades her voice. 🙏🏻
Listening while sitting at the banks of Yamuna . Can feel each and every emotion as portrait by Prabha ji❤️
I have heard her live twice. Unforgerable.
I loved her voice so much. She passed away in January. When I heard that news, I gasped and skipped a beat, heartfelt a sharp stinging pain for a second. I wish if someone will have a gasp like this for me when I'm gone.

Suhas Raje I completely agree with you. Very pure and holy sense it gives

Profoundly divine. Tears are pouring out of my eyes. That yearning, that live for Bhagawan Krishna....🙏🙏🙏
How can he not come when a devotee calls him like this?
I lost this song three years back. found today again. absolute bliss
@@JohnBrown-gf1ks do watch films by V. Shantaram and by Gurudutt. My personal favourites.
Music doesn’t have any barrier of language, country or time. It’s universal, immortal & close to your soul.
it is one of the best compositions in raaga Khamaaj . I am proud to be born as an Indian.
Quite divine to listen. It can lead one to the pinnacle of the celestial bliss. Hats off🙏🙏 to the scintillating loadstar of Indian classical music Dr. Prabha Atre ji

Everytime I hear this I cry, something about the entire song: the raga, the words, melody, music, tonality of the recording, and her: feels like I am sitting by a sacred river, late afternoon..
I recently heard this song and this song brings mental peace. Masterpiece
I like variations of "savre ai ji..o . what a heart touching gayaki...pure and classical.

God bless.
Sadly.... Jamuna was 2nd largest river of north India but now jamuna is biological desert...& In the most polluted rivers list of UN
