It's so funny how as soon as the guests are not very talkative, loud, and bubbly everyone's commenting how awkward they are. They're just polite and maybe a bit shy, but they were genuinely smiling throughout the whole video.. Just because someone doesn't act all over-the-top it doesn't mean they're not "happy".
I'm french and I would say that french people are impressed by people who do the "show" like they don't do "the show" but it doesn't mean that they are shy
+Andréa Catheline i can't agree it's really about personnality, i'm french too and i can tell you that if i was here i would be so excited you can't even know!
No it's cause they are ran out of asian food in NY. Such a stupid ass movie. In california just speaking of chiense food there is american, dim sum, Huanan, sheswan, etc. WE have all the sub genres of asian food. NY doesnt
One of their best Fung Bros food videos, probably since French cuisine is right up there on the list of my all-time fave foods...and I could never get enough of escargot! I love that the brothers embraced the different flavors of the culture. It was fun watching someone really appreciate food, especially David. I found humor in the mannerisms of these typical French people, as I could see the slight snootiness + up tightness of the accompanying buddies. Most French people don't know how to bond or feel 100% at ease around carefree, blunt types (like average Americans) without feeling somewhat inadequate. I should know, I dealt with Parisians for years. It's not personal though. Very fun to watch this. Btw, I'm not sure if anyone has noticed but Asians don't use cheese in their diets, not that I've seen or heard of...maybe that's why I picked up on a bit of awkwardness from Fung Bros, during savoring. Lol. Chances are it's wired into their taste buds, being of Chinese background- so am assuming they weren't exposed to much cheese in their household while growing up.
Thank you for doing this video. I am part French so this was lovely to see. I can't wait for my NY trip at the end of the year now, I will absolutely be at that place!!
they look so nice. a vibe where you're in a table enjoying there food while they're waiting for your opinion but still a person you'd want to eat with and be friends with.
Tart Tartar? Brilliant! I'm imaging raw beef, seasoning, and raw egg in a pastry crust with a caramelized layer. This is going to finally eclipse the cronut!
I feel so proud of my culture as a Frenchman when I see foreigners interested in the French culture 😀 Although I regret that the two guests didn't talk more. I don't know if they were feeling shy or intimidated or if it is because their English is limited so they cannot speak as much as they wanted to. Personally, I think there were a lot of things to add about each meal and they should have talked about the name of the restaurant to begin with. The term 'Parigot' has a specific meaning that American people don't know. Anyway, it is an amazing video though! Merci beaucoup les Fung Brothers! 😉
I found it funny on how they reacted on French food ^^ And I loved the Fungbros' french accent :) I can't wait to see what your next food video will be :) Je trouves que vous vous en êtes pas mal sorti quand même pour prononcer quelques mots français, franchement :) #Jiao #Courage
I don't see the awkwardness people are talking about. This was a great video. I prefer you bros doing videos like this one, about other cultures around the world who aren't Asian. It doesn't have to be European either. I'm Asian btw
The two guests were not having it. I just think maybe the amount of food was off putting for them or they just didn't like or understand their jokes. Yeesh, props to the guys for staying professional.
Merci beaucoup for this great video Fung Bros. I enjoy your videos alot because although you are Asian, you focus on foods/cultures/lifestyles from extremely various cultures. Keep up the good work!😁😄😜😊
will you do more European food episodes? I wonder what you guys could come up with for Holland... I guess we have more Indonesian influences than you would be used to?
I think that the guests were a little bit shy because it is not very common to have a youtube video with french AND american chinese. And this type of video is not very common either for french people (eating if front of a camera, etc.). It's like two "world" meeting each other. By the way, I am french born chinese ! Merci pour cet épisode les FUNGBROS = Thank you for this episode the Fungbros :)
Hhaha. So true, it was obviously visible how awkward the whole thing was for them...especially towards the end, where the girl blushes while David zealously munches away-! Absolutely priceless!!
Maybe cause the bros didn't even try to pronounce things even remotely correctly and were spewing absolute nonsense and borderline offensive comments about French food.
fung broz act like typical loud Americans da frogs act like typical condescending Parisians. Strange, culture plays a bigger part in who you are than race.
Vive la France 😘 I just love the French and their culture, Paris is actually one of the places I've always wanted to travel to. From pictures it does look Very beautiful.
as a french i can just tell you that french are not as expressive, french people are usally more aloof that americans :) don't take it too much at heart, imo they looked pretty normal :)
i agree with you monsieur. sorry to say dis, french are a proud race and nation. the way they react with other people shows that they have that respect for their food and culture, french people are snobbish in their own way. just like how i remember, if u dont speak french in france they will ignore you most of them because you come to their country, they accept you to learn and understand their most influential culture. c'est la vie. vous etes bete.
We may be proud or a little snobbish, but these guys weren't comfortable speaking in English at all (like a vast majority of the population) and that's why you (wrongly) think French people ignored you when you've been there. I'm from Paris btw.
hakyky agree with you 100 percent. i use to live in toulouse, france and staying in that region is much more intense. u need to adapt the lifestyle there. especially when you are a culinary student there. i love french people. dont get me wrong, i learn your culture and language but parisianne are different because you guys are from the city. when i study le cordon bleu, it was so much different compare to toulouse. but it was all good. love french food. beef bourguignon was my favourite too. :)
This is more like bistro style food, meaning that they serve sandwiches and drinks. More authentic french food includes Parmentier: sweet potato gratin with duck confit. Coq au vin: rooster with wine. Beef burgundy. Oignon soupe. Ratatouille. Bouillabaisse: fish stew saffron based sauce. Duck confit with dried prunes and berry sauce. Gratin dauphinois: cheese and potatoes gratin. Salade nicoise. Cassoulet.
Awesome video, your food videos are the highlight of my day. But just a little correction, it's: "tarte tatin" not "tart tartar" just thought I'd clear that up for everyone. Keep on making that amazing content guys!!
That episode was kinda awkward.. Probably cause they only mainly speak French which is understandable but anyway that French restaurant ain't the real deal, not if you actually in France anyway.. That's where it's at.. This is just a French restaurant in America..
+omnipotentum im not a fan of france food and i dont really know about it.. what im going to say that this video helped me know about france food more..
Do Canadian cuisine, please! !! It's French food, but with an interesting twist!! I saw an episode on it on the Food Network w/ Andrew Zimmern..and was intrigued...delighted!
I am french and i'm pretty accustomed to eat good things , in my family we like to eat good french food and also other types of cooking . When I came to Ireland in a lowly family , I had problems because I was not used to eat so simple things , they "prepared" me frozen lasagna with fries in the evening when I arrived. I thought I can not eat that for 15 days . I came back to France more early because it was too hard . I don't judge all irish people for that , but some of them really eat that everyday . And in France we live in a different world on this point.
First, "accents" is a plural while "L'" is a singular so it's either "l'accent [...] est" or "les accents [...] sont". In this case, people would rather use the singular form. Were you to compare Andrew and David's accents though, then the plural would naturally impose itself.
Came here after the Nigerian video.Happy that you tired both Nigerian and French food they are the best in the world followed by South Korean food. PS we usually eat ratatouille with Spaghetti or rice
What your problem guys, the french guest are absolutely great 👌🏼 this is not their TH-cam channel! They are polite just a bit "shy" and It’s okay everyone have a own personality! Bonjour de Paris 🇫🇷
I love French onion soup.... And it's not that hard to make! There are even crockpot recipes to make the broth......(I have no patience and tend to burn the onions) lol
Couldn't the french duo at least pretended like they're eating too instead of just sitting in the middle watching these 2 overexcited dudes ate. This was painful to watch, lol.
I would suggest to try also Cypriot food. Cyprus is an island in the Mediterranean sea. It is located within three continents. Europe, Africa and Middle East (East Asia). Fung bros branching out! Stepping up their food game as always! Those desserts looked beautiful!😍😍
No it's cause they are ran out of asian food in NY. Such a stupid ass movie. In california just speaking of chiense food there is american, dim sum, Huanan, sheswan, etc. WE have all the sub genres of asian food. NY doesnt
I feel like the French guests were super formal compared to Andrew and David who were super casual.
One of their best Fung Bros food videos, probably since French cuisine is right up there on the list of my all-time fave foods...and I could never get enough of escargot! Can barely hear the guests
They look dead inside
+Pap3rs lol
pretty sure they don't speak English very well that's why they don't participate much
+KarniToTheKaz I think so too.
French people are actually dead inside, I'm Italian so seeing how cold people are when I came here was shocking
The French people in the video were just OOOOZZZZING with personality
do the guest even eat tho seems like the only one eating is you guys hahah
yeah lol they were barley giving commentary
Thank you for doing this video. I am part French so this was lovely to see. I can't wait for my NY trip at the end of the year now, I will absolutely be at that place!!
i love that you guys are venturing out of asian food. keep up the good work!
haven't they been doing that for a while now?
they look so nice. a vibe where you're in a table enjoying there food while they're waiting for your opinion but still a person you'd want to eat with and be friends with.
Tart Tartar? Brilliant! I'm imaging raw beef, seasoning, and raw egg in a pastry crust with a caramelized layer. This is going to finally eclipse the cronut!
and Mouse au Chocolat instead of mousse... I was thinking of a chocolate covered mouse
Yaas Fung Bros! Keep exploring more countries' foods. I learn so much on this channel but I stay hungry watching lol.
also foods that I would normally hesitate on, this channel makes me wanna try so kudos to you guys.
In this video, I didn't like the background music. It was strange and a bit distracting.
lol it was but it matched the guests vibe
I feel so proud of my culture as a Frenchman when I see foreigners interested in the French culture 😀 Although I regret that the two guests didn't talk more. The Frenchies looked at the Fung Bros like heathens.. LMAO...
I love french cuisine and I'm not talking about food.

your comment is sleazy
It's always uglies that talk like this
french pussay sometimes smells like garlic
i guess it's a french stuff to have pussay smells like garlic ?
pp
super loud background music doesn't let me hear the guests
The guests were just kinda staring at the Fung Bros
The two guests were not having it. I just think maybe the amount of food was off putting for them or they just didn't like or understand their jokes.
Yeesh, props to the guys for staying professional.
Ya'll cheer me up.😅 love all your vids! I ate Pho today thinking about you guys!
Merci beaucoup for this great video Fung Bros. I enjoy your videos alot because although you are Asian, you focus on foods/cultures/lifestyles from extremely various cultures. Keep up the good work!😁😄😜😊
Haha I'm French-American and I'm glad to see you did an episode on French food! Keep it up Fung Bros! :D
will you do more European food episodes? I wonder what you guys could come up with for Holland... I guess we have more Indonesian influences than you would be used to?

The French guests are quiet and studious. The Americans are loud and like, " Hey, check this out!" 😂
I think that the guests were a little bit shy because it is not very common to have a youtube video with french AND american chinese. Hhaha. So true, it was obviously visible how awkward the whole thing was for them...especially towards the end, where the girl blushes while David zealously munches away-! Absolutely priceless!!
not sure if fung bros made it awkward or the french dude
fung bros are trying their best to make it less awkward. the dude is just not for these kind of stuffs
nah they just can't speak english well it has nothing to do if he for that kind of stuff
Maybe cause the bros didn't even try to pronounce things even remotely correctly and were spewing absolute nonsense and borderline offensive comments about French food.
fung broz act like typical loud Americans
da frogs act like typical condescending Parisians.
Strange, culture plays a bigger part in who you are than race.
This episode is strangely hilarious.
Tarte tatin though not tarte tartar 😂😂😂 but orner than that the episode was great ! So happy to see my country and its beautiful cuisine represented

Ouai voilà ! La c'est mes Français ! 5 commentaires et ça part déjà en couille, j'vous aime putain. XD
French comment here! I like the video, and this are actual food you can eat in France, no bullshit :)
It was refreshing to see them not obnoxious as they usually would be at an Asian restaurant. With the yelling in unison and unnecessary singing.
Some of that is their style and not perceived as obnoxious by everyone
+MsKTMvalley that's true.
Probably would've done all of that if those two guests weren't awkward af
***** Different culture. Different individuals. Also that was a rude comment.
again , not awkward. they literally can't speak english well like lmao.
NOTIF SQUAD! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL 💕💕
Why the guests did not even eat? They looked like they are having a jet lag.
Lol Andrew's face at 4:16
I wanted to tell the guest blink twice if you're in danger. They looked like they didn't want to be there.
as a french i can just tell you that french are not as expressive, french people are usally more aloof that americans :) don't take it too much at heart, imo they looked pretty normal :)
3:39
"plah placee plaw" xD
Plat Principal = main dish
least interactive guests ever
French people have different cultures and react differently. They're not as animated. You and the other losers that upvoted your comment are ignorant.
i agree with you monsieur. sorry to say dis, french are a proud race and nation. the way they react with other people shows that they have that respect for their food and culture, french people are snobbish in their own way. just like how i remember, if u dont speak french in france they will ignore you most of them because you come to their country, they accept you to learn and understand their most influential culture. c'est la vie. vous etes bete.
French people are simply more reserved, and don't feel the need to talk loudly and over other people. It's a nice trait actually.
We may be proud or a little snobbish, but these guys weren't comfortable speaking in English at all (like a vast majority of the population) and that's why you (wrongly) think French people ignored you when you've been there. I'm from Paris btw.

stay up fungbros. keep doing ya thanggg and yall gunna be some stars
I wish you guys had asked them what it's like to grow up Asian in France!
Props to French food, it's come a long way in the last 100 years!!! Way to go French Food Revolution!
All the Indian and Middle Eastern fans, lets leave yo....
whats wrong with you? lmfao
lol
This is more like bistro style food, meaning that they serve sandwiches and drinks. More authentic french food includes
Parmentier: sweet potato gratin with duck confit.
Coq au vin: rooster with wine.
Beef burgundy.
Oignon soupe.
Ratatouille.
Bouillabaisse: fish stew saffron based sauce.
Duck confit with dried prunes and berry sauce.
Gratin dauphinois: cheese and potatoes gratin.
Salade nicoise.
Cassoulet.
Low key this episode felt awkward for them
Ahah, I'm dying, it's not "tart tartar" but "tarte tatin" ! Nice video
Holy shit. Them Frenchies be awkward as fuck. Didn't say shit until spoken to. Most awkward episode ever LOL.
On behalf of the entire world including france, we highly two thumbs up agree with your statement
tenchichrono French are used to be calm and polite, this is not awkward this is just different
Duckman, duckman, duckman, duckman, them frenchies are up to something
Yo why aren't the French not eating ? Mad awkward video
they edited the french people eat out to make the video quicker, usually eating will take a long time like about an hour
Awesome video, your food videos are the highlight of my day. But just a little correction, it's: "tarte tatin" not "tart tartar" just thought I'd clear that up for everyone. Keep on making that amazing content guys!!
Also, profiterole
That episode was kinda awkward.. Probably cause they only mainly speak French which is understandable but anyway that French restaurant ain't the real deal, not if you actually in France anyway.. That's where it's at.. This is just a French restaurant in America..
Those two French people are just watching you two eat everything LOL
What I think about French food: Baguette, Baguette and Baguette
After this video: MY LIFE IS A LIE!!
btw wtf snail??
Yup snails. It really just taste like the dressing though. x)
+omnipotentum im not a fan of france food and i dont really know about it.. what im going to say that this video helped me know about france food more..
Looks so delicious!
Lol the guest looks like they don't want to eat
Do Canadian cuisine, please! !! It's French food, but with an interesting twist!! I saw an episode on it on the Food Network w/ Andrew Zimmern..and was intrigued...delighted!
Omg it's not "tart tartar", it's Tarte Tatin xD
Compare to their previous guests...this episode's guests were quiet but I didn't see anything wrong or awkward, it's just their personality.
Ur friends never lifted their arms above table once
I am french and i'm pretty accustomed to eat good things , in my family we like to eat good french food and also other types of cooking . When I came to Ireland in a lowly family , I had problems because I was not used to eat so simple things , they "prepared" me frozen lasagna with fries in the evening when I arrived. either Americans are really loud or the French are really quiet....
the French know whats up. ... cheese, creamy sauces, bread.... that's all I need!
L'accents d'Andrew et David sont mauvais, mais c'est mignon et bon qu'ils essayent!
*L'accent [...] est [...]
pourquoi c'est mauvais?
First, "accents" is a plural while "L'" is a singular so it's either "l'accent [...] est" or "les accents [...] sont". In this case, people would rather use the singular form. Were you to compare Andrew and David's accents though, then the plural would naturally impose itself.
Mais les français ils sont Chiant genre les fung bros ils aurait pus faire meuiller choix
Oooh, grammar police strikes. That burn thou!!! Il fallait d'abord qu'il ou elle surveille sa grammaire avant de faire des remarques.
5:18 "ITS AMAZING" 😂😂😂😂
were the guests full?? 😅
Came here after the Nigerian video.Happy that you tired both Nigerian and French food they are the best in the world followed by South Korean food. PS we usually eat ratatouille with Spaghetti or rice
Hahaha tart tartar, isn't it a tarte tatin (upside down pie)?
tarte tatin is upside down apple cake, tartare is minced beef with other stuff.
I know, that's why. For the pie they spelled it as tart tartar, you can see it in the video :)
What your problem guys, the french guest are absolutely great 👌🏼 this is not their TH-cam channel! They are polite just a bit "shy" and It’s okay everyone have a own personality! Bonjour de Paris 🇫🇷
For people that haven't eaten French food before you explained what everything is and they didn't say anything
Did you actually believe they’re French? They’re Vietnamese or Cambodgien.
fungbros you guys are my fav's being a asian canadian / american i learned alot
I eat my french onion soup from Panera 😂
I love French onion soup.... And it's not that hard to make! There are even crockpot recipes to make the broth......(I have no patience and tend to burn the onions) lol
The secret of French food is butter. So, so much butter 😋
Most unenthusiastic guests on Fung Bros I've ever seen XD
+Nick Johnson They do but not fluently
Now you guys should look into French-Vietnamese cuisine! :)
did you guys just pick these people off the street lmao
i would recommend y´all to try turkish food. it´s inbetween europe and asia so you can combine these series.
I feel like the background music is a little loud
I feel the same! I couldn't hear what the guests were saying :-(
croque madame refers to a Lady WITH a hat (egg on top)
Couldn't the french duo at least pretended like they're eating too instead of just sitting in the middle watching these 2 overexcited dudes ate. This was painful to watch, lol.
These guests are just chillin' :))
Music to loud can't hear the beginning
I would suggest to try also Cypriot food. Cyprus is an island in the
Mediterranean sea. It is located within three continents. Europe, Africa
and Middle East (East Asia). So we have been influenced by all three of
them. Mostly by Greece, Turkey, Egypt and Lebanon. So, good luck on
finding a good Cypriot restaurant and trying on some of our delicious
food! :)
Did these guys even eat any of it at all? Lol
LOL Andrew's face at 4:15
