Finally someone did this. Tuning on the TR-8S can be a real hustle, your sheet helps a lot. Thank you! I'm looking forward to watch your channel grow and to learn more about my favourite drum machine 😬
UK Calling - Dude - your Vids on the TR-8s have been SO helpful in cracking this machine at last...........this series of such 'short specific sessions' are unique on YT - so thank you ............... NOW THOUGH.......... please start a similar series on Roland's sister product - the MC 707 !!!!! - ??????
Hey, I got Roland couple weeks ago and I’m struggling with using it in Logic Pro. Could you do a tutorial on how to use it in a live lopping setting? If you don’t use logic a video on using tr8s with other synths in a live workflow would be great 👍
Your tutorials are really helpful. Thank you for teaching us. But... Bork Bork Bork! Vurt da Furk! Why not just plug in a midi controller for melody sequencing?
Hey bud. Great videos. Your Playlist has the items in reverse order Any chance you could reorganize them? I'm trying to run the list while learning the instrument
You can calculate the half steps by taking all half steps (12) divided by the values (128). you get that all half steps are 10.67 points apart from each other. since the 128 values start at 0, they go up until 127 because 0 is the first value. So if you are quick at maths (pun intended), you can calculate the note in your head while playing
I have the same question. If it is possible it would be similair to for example Elektron model Cycles - so easy to create melody with external midi keyboard!
Thanks dear, but the problem of difficulty in finding the right notes remains the same, even with the drawing. As for me, I already knew that the knob comprises 2 octaves. And the tuner is of no use: while recording motion, it's just the ear and the precision that help. It's impossible to make a perfect melody as we want with the tr8s. Impossible. The knob should only have been 1 octave, it would have been a little easier... I love this hardware, but this aspect takes away many points. Another tr8s feature that I don't like is the presence of Auto Fill In, Scatter and Roll, but it's a personal taste: I totally dislike every kick and snare roll, so for me these are things that only take away space for other possible functions.

Just picked up the TR-8S a couple of days ago and finding these videos super helpful. Thank you!!
This is a huge help. It will be nice knowing all my samples are tuned to the same note.
Thanks for taking the time to work out all the note values. That is a real time saver 👍
0:22 pressing down the special key, "to create a little melody!" Useful video. Chart is at 4:40
Thank you so much. 🙏 That helps a lot. 👍👍🎶💫

Would love to see a new video! you have good vibes
Thank you very much appreciated. There is more coming.

Best would. Be a recommendatiion to eroand for a build in tuner, would be unique in the worlsdwide synthmanufacturers
Well, that would be fantastic!!!
@@choppedstrandaudio4561 even my behringer model d synth is sending per hw knob an A
What a god
Is it possible to write notes/pitch information from the external midi keyboard (Arturia Keystep for example)?
hi, so will this process work on tuning the kick drums on the TR-8S too?...
Top... thank you
Keep asking Roland to give us an easier way to write melodies! on the machine, and on the TR Editor software
